Just saw Lion King. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Only one VERY short scene where I felt the CGI failed. Only major complaint was that they spent way too much time glorifying the lazy, slothful and selfish lifestyle of “Hakuna Matata”, but gave almost no lip service to the lesson that was learned in the end.

You gotta play hard ball from day one. My wife and I just let our kid cry himself to sleep. We would do the nightly feedings, but if we woke up for some other reason, we would go check on him to make sure he was ok, the. Leave him in there to cry himself to sleep. By his second months he was only waking up for feeding. He is 15 months old now and has no idea sleeping in our bed is an option (because it isn’t and never will be). He doesn’t need anything to help him fall asleep (though we use a white noise machine so our noise doesn’t wake him). Now not all kids are going to be like mine. Sleep training him wasn’t easy, but he eventually got it down. Does your kid have any health issues or is he have Colic (sp?)? If there are no health problems, just let him cry himself to sleep. If he doesn’t learn to self sooth, he will never be able to fall asleep without you coddling Him. And you will never get sleep. There are lots of books and resources you can look up for this. I would recommend a book called Baby Wise.

I think we are fine until it starts shouting “EXTERMINATE!”

A New Tienanmen Square? But on a country level.

If Hollywood and military video games have taught me anything, it’s that China, Russia, and NK will, without a shadow of a doubt, unite and start WW3. This has been proven, only uncultured swine and science deniers would deny this. -
It does beg the question, doesn't it Speaking of missed used phrases

Funny... Maybe something happened on this forum where this wording was used (or perhaps I used it and forgot), but I have been contemplating this very saying off and on all week trying to make sense of it. Is the correct term “few and far between”?

It went alright, I always over prepare and end having to give a watered down version of what I want to say 😕

Always exciting! The Owensboro KY branch was a branch for 80 years (if I remember correctly). It watched branches all around it grow into wards. Then about 4 years ago it finally became a ward. They were so happy.

Seeing that the Kirkland safety society currency is valued at 2,453 times the US dollar makes me want to change to that currency instead.

Marion G Romney said "Our individual exaltation depends upon our proving to the Lord that we will at all hazards and under all circumstances faithfully discharge the trust he has placed in us...This promise is to come, however, only after “the Lord has thoroughly proved him, and finds that the man is determined to serve him at all hazards.”” With all this in consideration, I dropped out of school and jumped into the solar industry and have been given so many opportunities that can only be considered blessings from above. But while doing this, quote a few old people have pressured me to stop what I’m doing and go back to school. I have a slight fear in the back of my mind that an old bishop or EQ president is going to read “The Powers in the Priesthood” by Pres Oaks and feel “inspired” to tell me to go back to school. Doing that would be a disastrous decision that would set me back so far. I doubt I would follow that direction.

I prefer the AC: Unity approach. Everyone is French but have English accents.

So I'm giving a talk on Sunday and the topic is "Family Unity". It is a great topic and ideas for what to speak on have been flooding into my mind since I was asked to speak. But there is one problem. Our ward is a literal old folk home. 80% of the ward is 80 years old +. There are only 5 families in the ward and a couple of young married couples. Should I fix my talk to meet the audience? A silly question as I feel the obvious answer is "Ya... duh...". But what do I speak about? My talk so far has a lot to do with what habits we need to develop in order to foster gospel unity within the gospel... but for most of these people, it is too late to apply any of this. Ideas such as keeping a personal journal have crossed my mind, but what else can I speak about?

Comparing illegal aliens and Mormon pioneers

Was it illegal in Mexico to join the US army and take Mexican land? I only ask sarcastically cause this whole business of legal/illegal is so silly considering there was a war going on. -
Ether 12:6 comes to mind. ”faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.” this is the trial of your faith. Do you act in faith and go to church and see what kind of miracles God can do (like perhaps your wife having a similar experience as @JGarcia).
