There was a movie in the 90’s called “Ransom” where Mel Gibson turns the tables on kidnappers who kidnapped his son.
    SPOILERS AHEAD
Instead of paying ransom to the kidnappers he puts a price on the head of the lead kidnapper on national television. Very cool idea, for a movie.

Frankly, the decision to pay ransom (or not) depends on large part on what your alternatives are.
If Moroni hadn’t known where the Lamanites were keeping the captive Nephites (or was satisfied that their prison was impregnable), he may have been much more willing to do a deal.

His claim is part myth and part fact.
Vaccines as we've known them take a dead or weakened virus which both allow the body to remain strong enough to fight the virus and to develop anti-bodies for it.
Some viruses are not easy to deaden or weaken while still allowing the body to build antibodies.  So, for such viruses, an alternative was developed.  This new "method" doesn't use this tactic.  It uses an m-RNA technology that has been around for something like 10 years.  It was developed specifically for a pandemic such as this.  And this is the first "vaccine" of this type to ever be used.
So, it doesn't satisfy the classic definition of a vaccine as we've known it.  But what else would one call this?  It is an "agent" which stimulates immune response in the Human body to help fight off a virus.  Since this is brand new, no one came up with any other name for it.  So, why not call it a vaccine?

@mirkwood, @LDSGator and others.  Though it is not yet clearly stated by the CDC not all need or ought to be given the COVID-19 shot.  I say shot rather than vaccine because technically the COVID-19 vaccines are not  vaccines.  In addition individuals that already have antibodies - should not receive the shot - the data is that it is more likely to cause the individual harm than to add additional immunity.  At this point - individuals should be tested for the antibody before receiving the shot.  But in this highly politicalized society - the CDC and our political leaders has shown to be unreliable.  Politicians because they are ignorant and the CDC and other doctors working for and with the government have shown to be more concerned with politics that the public health.

We should be pleased that our church is full of happy people who want to socialize. That’s a good thing.

I find that vast vast majority of other churches don’t treat their worship place as quiet reflection. Rather a place for joyful/loud worship, fellowship, and loud singing (frequently in the form of a rock conference).

It looks like the church has taken the “talk about love and acceptance and tolerance” (your words, not mine) path. They probably won’t switch lanes from that anytime soon.
This presents a challenge to LDS traditionalists. Will they continue to “follow the prophet/church teachings” or not?

It’s also interesting for LDS liberals-this is their moment too. Will they stay in the church as the church becomes more inclusive or will they jump onto the next social cause and leave?

That is not a turn lane, so if you were makiing a proper right turn at the intersection and someone traveling in it as a turn lane  and hit you, they would be the violator.

Vort is also right, no harm, no foul, probably no ticket/action taken.

I'm fairly sure that the answer is no, it's not legal. I'm also fairly sure that as long as there is sufficient room and no property damage takes place, most cops won't waste their time ticketing someone for doing so. Maybe @mirkwood can provide insight, or at least give an informed opinion.

I appreciate you not wanting cancel culture, but in my view it's the same about letting the cook know the food is uncharacteristically and truly awful. (Glass in the soup sort of deal)
You're doing them a favor and letting them know there's a problem.

Reporting this to higher management is not cancel culture.  It is accountability for terrible behavior.  Imagine if I refused to take a report from someone while I was at work due to their race.  Would it be cancel culture to complain?

Not every gay person (adults) in the Church is “struggling” with same sex attraction. They are aware of their feelings and they ACCEPT IT and continue LIVING. It is not a constant battle for many and they don’t want to be seen as addicts “recovering” or “struggling”.

In my line of work, I see young men and young women struggling to feel they’re not broken, and seeking (desperately in some instances) the tender love of a mother and father. They long for support from parents and family.

Sometimes they do have understanding parents who are cognizant of the difference between loving their child and supporting a lifestyle they don’t believe in. Many parents believe that showing any kind of care or concern for their child is automatically a way to support homosexuality. They use these weapons to manipulate their vulnerable son/daughter. When it doesn’t work out, a few of these parents clearly state that their child is now dead.

I see adults as well and many in our Church.  The experience is a bit different, they are more grounded and they know where they’re standing.  Most of them do want to remain in the Church and they are very much aware that they might not be able to find an eternal companion - but just like Liv, they work every day to be better disciples of Christ. They have callings, they help those in need, they go to the Temple, and they are supported by their leaders. They are in good standing with the Lord and yet… time after time a few people within the Church shows them it is NOT good enough and never will be even if the Almighty God says they can enter His house.

The response from the legal and human rights fraternities and from the Indian community has forced the government to backtrack. The Prime Minister has recently said that no one would ever be punished to the full extent allowable by this law and that the ban would almost certainly not be extended beyond the two weeks that have been announced.

To be fair, as a young man in Catholic school we were lectured to quite frequently that we were sinful, lecherous, lazy, immature...while women were virtuous, mannerly, pure, wonderful...it got old.  It also got a little silly, if I’m being honest. We’d make jokes about it, even the girls would.

The staff and church leadership at the school was too (Naive? Clueless? Politically correct? Stupid?) to see that girls would tease one another into eating disorders and also pressure the boys for sexual activity.
No, I have no idea how LDS teach their kids simply because I’m not a parent. But, if you constantly tell me how bad I am don’t be shocked when I act that way. After all, I’m just doing what you said and what you expect. So....
