Asking for forgiveness and receiving it is two things. There is no remission for that particular sin until a change is made within us. Works of repentance is the gospel of repentance and GOD gave us the gospel of repentance so that we could learn to overcome the world. He said that He came to call sinners into repentance and they must remain there until by a mighty change they overcome. Effective prayer...is contact with GOD. In Isaiah we are told that by iniquities we are separated from GOD and by our sins GOD hide His face so that He does not hear. [Answer] Formal prayer is good but not practical for the whole day. God said to pray always. This is where Praising and thanking GOD comes in. We can use this for every little woes that come into our lives as well as for everything else. We can thank and praise the Lord for a snow storm, a red light that always seems to bar our way when we are in hurry....when we thank GOD for the red light...we might as well as thank Him and praise Him for us being in a hurry. In a day we think and do a great deal many things...and if we learn to praise and thank GOD for all things...then we will form a contact with GOD and we will begin to feel the hand of GOD in our lives. As a break sometime GOD will give us a perfect day where everything is timed and goes our way. When this happens never fail to thank GOD for all things. Other things we can do..singing good songs, thinking good thoughts and blessing others. These are also prayers. Over time we can develop an attitude of prayer. When we get there...our whole life will be prayer unto GOD. bert10

And they who are raised up shall be ask to take a lower seat. Problems come into our lives that is for sure. All problems whether they are there because of sins or not...(most are) we need to realize that GOD is permitting it. God has control over every details of our lives. And always act for our good even if it leads to our death here on the earth. The thing is...we can use our problems to praise and thank GOD for them instead of murmuring and being resentful like Israel of old were when They were given problems...some of them were terrifying...life and death problems. Instead of turning towards GOD and gaining the faith necessary that awaited them for meeting their GOD they lost those moments by complaining, murmuring and threatening the life of Moses. The person who has all sorts of problem is blessed. For GOD cares enough to chastise them who love Him. This person can use each and every problem as a reason to praise and thank GOD. This will cause the person to have his mind centered on GOD and be in prayer all the day. Praising and thanking is a prayer most pleasing unto GOD. Men often forget GOD when things are running smoothly in their lives. Their prayers are shorter and they forget to praise and thank God as they become distracted by the things of this world. The problems are there to remind us that we need GOD and hopefully men will realize that they need GOD even when things seems to be running smoothly in their lives. Some bishops are over zealous with the Lord's Storehouse. Some act as if it is their store house. The Store house of the Lord is meant to help us out of bad situations. However, you cannot change the Bishop nor the situation that you are in without the help of GOD. Fears, anger, feelings of resentment etc. are negatives and do rob us of the power of GOD our lives. The best way that I know to banish fears, anger, resentment etc is coming to the sure knowledge that all things work together for the good of them that love God [Romans] also fear and love are mutually exclusive. And for keeping my thoughts centered on GOD and to remind GOD constantly of my situation.....what we can do is to praise and thank GOD for the problems all the day long if one has to. Most only thank GOD for the the good things in their lives. Few do realize that GOD in the end is the author of all our experiences whether they are comfortable or uncomfortable life experiences. Even when we are the author of our own uncomfortable life experiences God still need to permit it and how much of it we can bear. Every time your situation comes to mind...say and mean it...for example...Thank You GOD for my car being almost out of gas. Or thank You GOD for this red light if we are driving and in a hurry. And you can be sure if we are in a hurry we are going to hit every red light there is out there. At least it seems so to me on some days. And if your thoughts turns to money...okay then say...Thank you Lord for allowing me to be without money at this time. When you pay your bills ...say thank You Lord for this bill. It hurts my budget but I thank you all the same. If you do this with all things...your thoughts will begin to quiet down,,,and you will begin feel a contact with GOD, and even come to feel the hand of GOD in all things in your life. Then you can begin to praise GOD between, your thoughts with your problem. Sooner or later GOD will act on those praises you thanking Him. How He will act is the fun. In a formal prayer we are asking GOD for specific things even though it is not what we really need. And also we expect GOD to deliver on our prayer according to how we think it should be done. In praising and thanking GOD......GOD acts according to our GOOD in his way. The way He shall provide for us...most likely is not the way we expect it..but be sure about this...something will happen...and this is the fun part. The more things go wrong with us...the more we can use those things to center our thoughts and hearts on GOD. Power always flow thru us, when Contact is made with GOD. bert10

When this is coupled with a government that gives free rein even encourage greedy men to act with no regard for others...we then have situations like yours. 10 years ago I sunk all my savings into a house. Within about six weeks I lot my job and my wife also lost her job. I had a kid starting university and needed to buy for him amongst other things a computer. (He was taking computer Science.) All I can say is that God looked after me. When I went to the unemployment office and was filling paper work an Employer called with exactly the qualification I had. When this short term Contract ended going thru a security gate on the Base...a friend of mine said she was being overworked and asked if I wanted to join Security? So I did not have to look for work. God dropped those jobs right into my lap. What more can you do? Since you cannot pray the whole day....Well, you can realize and become aware, that the situation that you are in ....is because God has permitted it. In Romans it is written that for them that love GOD all things work together for their good. One way to turn fears into a positive and to keep reminding GOD of our situation on the earth...is to praise GOD and thank GOD for exactly the situation that we are in. And to mean it even when things do not go our way. Fear is anti faith and robs us of the power of GOD in our lives. GOD often says in the scriptures fear not. Praising GOD for exactly what is hurting and bothering us...is a prayer...and this can become a constant prayer and it has power. I imagine you think of your situation many many times in the day....imagine when you did this...that each time you will praise GOD for your problems with the house. For example it can be...Thank you Lord for allowing to lose my job. Or thank you God for my bad knee etc. This praising causes your eye [mind] to be centered on GOD all the day long. And it is a prayer. And we are not any longer ungrateful since we are now praising and thanking GOD for all the things that comes into our lives..the good as well as uncomfortable life experiences..because we know somehow, God will turn it for our Good. For example loosing a home that would in the future be destroyed is much better than we be somewhere else. The case of Job. Remember Job...said "the things that I feared have come upon me." GOD tricked Satan into giving Job all the things he feared? Why because it is written that there is no fear in Love. These two cannot co-exist within us. If we have fears which the Lord calls darkness we cannot be perfect in Love...and we would also have little faith. Fear is also anti faith. I hope this help. I cannot emphasize this more...that praising and thanking GOD for ALL THINGS that come into our lives is extremely important in centering our thoughts on GOD. bert10

Sin is transgression of the law and being found guilty by that law. Iniquity if I can put this way....are acts that causes the opposite of stillness in our mind. as in from Psalms... "Be still (in mind) and know that I am GOD. " If we are not stilled in mind it is because of iniquity and this will separate us from the voice of GOD. In Isaiah we are given the difference in our relationship to GOD with sins and iniquities. Isaiah 59:2 - But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Iniquities separate us from God. And our sins...cause God to hide his face from us...and will not hear our prayers. So if we are ungodly we cannot have a still mind in order to hear God. And because we cannot hear God we are separated from Him. When we do right...the mind can become still again...and the raging waves of unrest that exist in our soul because of the storms we create...like the sea of Galilee can again be quieted so we can walk on it with our Lord and not sink us like Peter who feared and was sinking. Iniquities is us putting a barrier between God and ourselves and God wait patiently for us to remove the barriers. Sins is not only putting barriers between us and God it causes GOD to hide His face from us and not hear (answer) our prayers. Does this help? bert10

GOD Is also a TITLE and a OFFICE. And all before us who have inherited the powers of Heaven are GODS. However, we are getting way ahead of ourselves here. The reason that I have given in the other post...is that we are commanded at this time to Worship none other than our Father in heaven and to not honor anyone else as the Mediator except Jesus. One of the Reasons I can think of...it is because...This person is Literally OUR FATHER in heaven. When we get back there...we will be re-given knowledge that was removed from us for coming on the earth. Also we are not divided like we are here on the earth. Another reason is that ......Oneness means Oneness. Socially on the earth...it is the responsibility of the FATHER to see for the welfare of His Children. And so it is in heaven. We are given here on the earth at this time to worship no one else except the Father and to honor no one else as the Mediator except Jesus. Conditional love versus unconditional Love. The person who lives "unconditional Love" will love you as you are and not seek to change you. The person who lives "Conditional Love" will seek to transform you into the image of his perspective what is a perfect mate. The Lord called "Conditional Love" Darkness. With it comes all types of fears and it leads the use of coercion or applied pressure in order to get what one wants. "Unconditional Love" is about giving "unconditionally" and with understanding it is certainly not about receiving. Conditional Love is based on conditions in order that we should give our love. When those conditions changes which we fell in love with always happen over time in a marriage... Divorce soon comes because of conflicts, arguments, hurt feelings etc. They who live unconditional love over time become what they think. For it is written ..."As A man thinketh so is he in his heart." This Love will work on our mind and heart and so over time we become what is pleasing unto God. Who can resist a spouse who loves unconditionally except the most reprobate man or woman...Who can bear to leave and divorce such a one except the most wicked of men and woman. The Love of darkness must be greater in these than the Love of God. This is how come there will be no divorce in the millennium. bert10

Live and let live. We all reap the fruits of our labors. Sooner or later it will dawn on your sister that the fruits of your life is far different then hers. And one day she might make a comment on how lucky you are. If you live "Unconditional Love" towards your sister...you will love her enough to allow her to make mistakes in her life. That is not to say that you cannot counsel her when she needs it. But if she is not listening then leave off. Prayer and knowledge that God is still working with her...can help you. And God can use her mistakes later on in life to reach her.. A famous ex-cop, and NHL coach once said that the cancer that was killing him served to make his heart tender. Simply put...the Atonement is the Reconciliation between man and the Father via Jesus Christ. Under the Covenant...the Reconciliation is not about letting the filthy enter into heaven. The Reconciliation is predicated on repentance which is also called washing and cleanliness. If we fulfill the conditions of the Covenant then Jesus will reconcile us to the Father...for no one goes to the Father except by Jesus Christ who is the mediator of the Covenant. bert10

Absolutist you are right...do not be deceived there is only light and darkness...if a thing is not of the Spirit of God,,,then it is of the darkness. It is not hard. Well Look at it this way...God can forgive all men who are renewed unto repentance by the power of the Holy Ghost. And they who are sons of perdition cannot be renewed unto repentance...and since repentance is the condition that needs to be fulfilled; forgiveness cannot be given to sons of perdition. Hebrew chapter 6 verses 4-6 gives a list of what will happen if one falls from it. bert19

Well first of all The Father does forgive us when we change within. Where in the Scriptures is it written ....that Jesus said...."I forgive thee?" Is it not always written that Jesus said..."Thy sins are forgiven thee?" I am not saying here that the Father has not given Jesus permission to also forgive Sins. Now let us move on to the Atonement. Some have made the word...to mean AT-ONE - MENT. Is Also RECONCILIATION.....To be at ONE IN THE MOMENT is ONESS or MARRIAGE in the fullest of the sense. We cannot be joined with perfection unless we are able to become it ourselves. Cleanliness of soul is not about just how to become cleanse the idea is to remain cleansed and pure regardless of what we are thrown at. There is no purpose for God to forgive the filthy who cannot live the laws of Love so that they can be put in a kingdom where the laws of love are lived to the fullest. That man like the angels in the beginning...will eventually fail and until he does...he will be miserable. But if that man fails in that kingdom there is only darkness left for him which is no kingdom at all. So it is better that all men be judged according to their works and be put in kingdoms whose laws they will be able to live and be happy with in eternity. bert10

Grace for the wicked is the period of time God gives them to repent before Justice condemns them to stripes. Grace for the righteous is the ability of God to see them as little children. Works is with Faith and it is for producing CHANGE WITHIN US so that GRAce of GOD can see us as little children. As all of you can See...I do not do away with works, ordinance or even works of Repentance, nor teach abominations concerning faith and grace. Be careful what you ask for. But since you asked. Biblical translations is why many fail to grasp the things of the Lord. At least to begin to ask the correct questions to God. In Greeks there were different kinds of words to represent different types of Love...such as Eros..etc. In the English language we have one word and it is "Love" And for example we say to "make Love" even when it is only of the lust of the flesh. As for marriages...did not GOD say and it is written "let no man put asunder what God has joined?" What is joined Spiritually by GOD cannot be put asunder except by the power of the Spirit. And what of it ...if governments give divorces? Do they have power to order GOD to dissolve what He has joined? Is the Spiritual line formed in heaven when a man and a woman marries..so easily put asunder? The reason why it is nearly impossible for the woman to receive a divorce is because once they are married She is the HOLDER AND THE GUARDIAN of both Lines of the Children. The Spiritual line and the Earthly line. Now we can study the way Sarah treated and loved her husband Abraham whom she called Lord. And we can also study the Role and relationship of Rachel and Leah in order to understand polygamy and so on. The Lord said by Isaiah that we learn a little here and there, line upon line, precept upon precept etc. That is how it works. Why? so that we do not reject it..by biting more than we can chew. The study should start in Genesis...where God set the order of authority and responsibilities between the man and the woman. And we can only fulfill our role by faith and by "Unconditional Love" Jacob had it, and lived it so much that His children at times were ashamed of him and thought that he was weak. One of the Names of our Father is "Loving Kindness". It would be easy to perceive our Father as weak if we did not understand "Unconditional Love" I can answer questions but be specific .... THE FOLLOWING DOES NOT APPLY TO EVERYONE INDIVIDUALLY. Each case is different and only GOD is to Judge and counsel.When the Lord gave some teachings that had some depth to it...He would say let them that have ears...Hear. It meant it only applied for them who could understand. It is scary stuff and it took me many years to receive this...mainly because I was not ready to see myself under that light. Because I asked and received I stood condemned in my failures to immediately implement the principles in my life. And it did leave a bad taste as it showed me my own shortcomings. And only they who get a testimony of this post and does not follow it are under the law. It took me a long time to receive this stuff...And God showed me how unjust I was in my expectations of my spouse. And you know what? if anyone live "unconditional Love" control issues disappear or are lessened to such an extent that it does not matter anymore. Also the ability of our spouse to make us really unhappy when they do things we do not approve of is lessened. It depends on the level or degree of "Unconditional Love" we are in. The greater we understand...the greater our compassion the less we tend to judge evil of others and the more we can forgive. Here is the hardest lesson of all men must learn...is that they should have no expectation from their wives to behave or think as they do. This must come naturally out of love and not forced. To respect our wives as God respect us is to allow them to think and behave according to their own sense of right and wrong. The tools we have are "Unconditional Love" "prayers" "praising"and to counsels our spouse. And we are to be careful to not over do it by nagging. What I have received is for myself because I ask, seek and knock. I Cannot "officially" release this as commandments of GOD since these things were on the earth since the beginning. I am giving this stuff out so that people who are serious with their marriage or are nearing divorce can pull back from it and re-learn to love their Spouse. As LDS we ought to to have the lowest divorce rate of any people and religion in the world. The Christian movie "Fireproof." From what I have seem....the Christian course "Love dare" I think that is what it is called. In the movie I saw..it had some elements that reminded me how to live "Unconditional Love". Perhaps the Church should explain why the Rule is and what GOD said by Isaiah and why the rule is what it is today. Anciently anyone who was not "whole" (free from defect, infirmities and blemishes) could not be in the Holy Congregation of the Lord. Not only one had to be "Whole" on the inside...but the Outside had to also reflect the inside of the Cup. In the kingdom of God on the earth...all those who have purposely mutilated their bodies and this is either done for vanities or because of psychological needs.. .cannot come in with the Holy Congregation until their temple is made Whole again....by whatever time it takes. For piercings and other things like this was prophesied would exist when Christ will come and What God would do to the daughters of Zion...I imagine for men it shall be much worse. People are always free to do what they want. But they are not free from consequences of their choices. bert10

God allows us to separate...but not many to remarry again. For men it is different than it is for woman. Righteous men do not initiate divorce proceedings. For by which we judge our spouse so will God judge us. And if we divorce our spouse for their faults even adulteries...how can then we go to GOD and seek forgiveness for our own faults and adulteries with our idols...[money, luxuries, food] which we are weak in and put the things of the world before GOD...this is adulteries. For in the prayer of Jesus...He said..forgive our trespass as we forgive the trespasses of others. Again I have said for men it is different if the divorce proceeding is initiated by the woman. If that man is righteous...God can allow that man to marry again even if does not get a Spiritual divorce. If the man is wicked ...well that is another matter. The man as is written in the scriptures is the head of woman. And for that man to divorce she would have to behave like Israel at their worst. The Lord Cried out to Israel.according to the prophet Jeremiah....." Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you" But for the woman to initiate divorce it does not entitle her to a Spiritual separation...though man may but asunder her marriage, it is not necessarily done so in heaven. Women have power with God if only they would learn to use it and bring it down on the earth in their marriages. With time and patience and praising God and with unconditional Love God will begin to work on the heart of her spouse..by giving whatsoever he needs to bring him down from pride and blindness. Pat Burn who was an angry Hockey Coach that recently died of cancer..was renowned. He said the sufferings that he endured in the last couple of years ...worked to soften his heart. God can do some wondrous work even to the giving of Cancer in order to slow down and awaken people before it is too late. Some learn while others go the grave even more bitter and angry. That is their choice. But there shall come a point when the Righteous sister cries goes up to heaven and the husband does not repent...the Lord Himself shall remove him. That is the power of GOD in one's life. Here is another secret the more righteous a person becomes in the obedience of the Spirit and love.....the more the sin of the spouse increases in the eyes of GOD...when a man or woman sin before the perfection of love...there is only so long where the Lord shall permit it. bert10

Are you guys surprised to find out that the LDS divorce rate is as great as the Christians? The divorce rate is virtually identical to the Christian rate [not including temple here] because the worldly philosophies have invaded the LDS church. To answer you and those below in this tread...unconditional love is infinite it is the same love that God uses on us. It is the pure love of Christ that enables us to understand and to forgive. Unconditional love is patient, it does not seek force change on others. This last one should be familiar with you guys who are married. How many spouses spend their time in trying to remake their spouse in their own image of what is a good spouse? Here are some verses on this..to help us along in understanding this. Love of Christ passeth knowledge. Ephesians 3:19 - And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God There is no fear in love and fear is torment. 1 John 4:18 - There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. Unconditional Love is also called "perfect Love" Now Conditional love is called darkness by the Lord. It is not a love that lift but abase men and woman and bring strife and contentions in the marriage and seek to control even to force our spouse to behave or think as we do. Where in a marriage there are contentions, strife, anger and unhappiness you can be sure that marriage is based on conditional Love which is called darkness by GOD....conditional is the counterfeit of the real thing and cannot work for very long. Every marriage that ends up in divorce it is because of at least one spouse is living conditional love in it. A little known Secret And for those of you who are close to divorce know this...it is written in Scriptures "As a man thinketh so is he in his heart." A spouse becomes love only when it is constantly on his mind and heart. If this person wishes to accomplish this...He cannot afford to dwell on the negativity of their spouses or things of the world. This kills the process of our becoming..and living perfect love. If we learn to hold unconditional Love in our heart and mind......and learn forgiveness and add praising the Lord for every fault that our spouse possess we begin to bring the power of God down in our marriages. And God will act for the good of us. He may not work in the way we expect Him to ..but He will work things out. An earthly divorce is not necessarily a Spiritual divorce. For when God has sealed a man and a woman in Marriage...man cannot put asunder a marriage. And I know God does not give divorces simply because the government can give them out, willy nilly. Because of the high rate of divorces..this generation since the days of Jesus is the first where we are guilty of not only being degenerate and wicked but also an Adulterous generation. bert10

They who pierce themselves and have tatoos shall be shamed in the coming of the Lord. That body that you have is not yours....it belongs to God. Here is some prophecies concerning our day on this from Isaiah. Isaiah 3:18 - In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon, Isaiah 3:19 - The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers, Isaiah 3:20 - The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings, Isaiah 3:21 - The rings, and nose jewels, Isaiah 3:22 - The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins, Isaiah 3:23 - The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails. Isaiah 3:24 - And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty. Isaiah 3:25 - Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war. Isaiah 3:26 - And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she [being] desolate shall sit upon the ground. ---------------------------- They who are abased shall be raised and they who are raised [haughty and proud] shall be lowered. Events and conditions such as economy, disasters of all kinds which breads hate, anger, mistrust etc in the last will force people to be bound to their like...in other words...Anglicans will band together with other Anglicans etc. I call this Bundling...and the ties that make each bundle secure will be their beliefs. And these ties over time will become as strong as bands of steel. So with Love of man decreasing with each passing day we will see cracks between people and and nations if we expand our viewpoint...become great gulfs. The law of heaven is ...."Where much is given much is required. Jesus explains it this way.... Luke 12:47 -And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. Luke 12:48 - But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. The reason why they who did not know the will of GOD and do things worthy of many stripes do not get off free. But will still receive few stripes. The reason for this, is that all men that live have a portion of the Spirit of Life as long as they live and are taught sufficiently by this Spirit to recognize good from evil. So even if they did not know the will of the Father and they do things worthy of many stripes...they shall shall receive stripes even if they are few. Does this help? Now a sin as explained in Romans is to transgress the law and be found guilty under the law. Though all men are transgressors....not all men are sinners. For it is written that if a man is led by the Spirit he is not under the law [Galatians]. To obey the voice of GOD within us is to free us from the law and the prophets as long as we hear it to do and obey it. This liberty in Christ as the Apostles said is not an excuse for doing what we want and for indulging in the lust of flesh. IF we do we fall from grace and back to being under the law which is also written was given to shut the mouth of men and so that the world may be guilty before God. bert10

The Names of GOD...include CREATOR and ETERNAL. Hi. Hheize. The Separation that you feel from GOD is an illusion. Because it is one sided. One cannot be separated from GOD anymore than one's hand is separated from our arm. As long as we draw breath God is aware of us. He knows all of our thoughts and words....He may not listen to us or help us our of our troubles this is when we most feel alone. From experience I have learned that if one heals our spirit and our relationship with GOD so does our body become healed. And also we begin to see more the hand of GOD in our lives. The quickest way out of any problems is to learn to love all people and things that comes in our lives and to thank GOD in the name of Jesus each and every time we are bothered. We need to do this not only when we think good things happen but also when we have negative things happening to us. If we love and live according to GOD's commandments we shall have the power of GOD in our lives because we are fulfilling all the law and the prophets. And the darkness that is within will soon be dispelled and replaced by Light and with light shall come the joy of life followed by happiness and prosperity. That is how it works. bert10
