MorningStar Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 A friend of my husband made a "gas prophecy" a couple days ago that it will drop a dollar in the next couple weeks. I don't know why he thinks this, but I would be happy if he were right. I guess we'll see. On the news just now, they said one gas station nearby is under $4.00 now. Quote
Steven22 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 Here in Portland, Oregon gas is dropping under $4.00 all over the city. Quote
Palerider Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 Where I live it is 3.68 and I heard that by labor day the average in our country would be 3.50. Quote
jstn1040 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 I filled up today for $3.98 and I live in southern RI.. there were lines to get gas...I think they must have just lowered the price today becuase on the pump it said $4.04 but it came up was $3.98 so i'll take it! I hope his gas prophecy is right!!! hehe Quote
DanielNicolai Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 I've got half a tank in the car and since it's a Corolla I won't have to tank up again for another week or so, that said, no clue what the gas prices are at. I don't really mind the price raise though, I only have a 10 gallon tank. Quote
breeb Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 My hubby and I both work from home and are about 15 min from the nearest store so we dont drive much. Man isnt it sad that we all get excited about $3.50 for gas? Quote
Truegrits Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 I'm lucky that where I am there are gas stations that did not hit the $4.00 price. $3.90's, yes. Quote
jimuk Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 Wow here in the uk, i think we are paying around $7.72 a gallon. Quote
SundaeSarah Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 here in the west desert of Utah, regular is $4.27 a gallon. Hope it comes down soon. I"m taking a class in August for 3 days that is 75 miles one way. Quote

Moksha Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 I was always amazed at the prophetic ability of that old highway sign that said, "Eat here, Get Gas". Quote

WANDERER Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 From the news I had suspected a bit of a change in the wind. Why do I think that the carbon credits scheme is going to hinder a price drop in fuel here....ah well... Quote
MorningStar Posted July 27, 2008 Author Report Posted July 27, 2008 Yesterday I dropped off my kids with my mom and picked them up today and gas was 3 cents cheaper than it was yesterday. Oh please let it keep dropping. It's been almost $4.50 here. Quote
kona0197 Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Here in Portland, Oregon gas is dropping under $4.00 all over the city.I would be happy if that was happening down here in Albany. Quote
pam Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Amazing because Oregon was always one of the higher states. Quote
Jbs2763 Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 gee do you think its a coincidence that as soon as we start drilling in ANWR and offshore gas drops??? must be.. no way the savages of OPEC would drop prices when there is legitimate compatition..nope, not ever gonna happen that way Quote
kona0197 Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 OPEC has nothing to do with the high prices. It has been said that the problem is greedy gas CEOs. Quote
Palerider Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 the stock is falling....that has made oil take a tumble.... Quote

Jbs2763 Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 OPEC has nothing to do with the high prices. It has been said that the problem is greedy gas CEOs.the price of oil is controlled by OPEC, and it is a supply demand thing... BIG BAD OIL makes $0.08 per GALLON...the government makes about $0.60 depending on yoru state granted the CEOs are complete D-Bags....but we are getting reamed harder by the savages in Iran and Saudi, then American oil companies...which I don't know about you..but I have oil stock in my 401k Quote
