I have lived in the suburbs all my life. You know, houses on 1/4 acre all in a row, 7/11's every 2 blocks, no cows, no horses, no crops.

I am used to seeing flys, mosquitos, inch worms, and such. BUT, over the last few years I have seen other bugs that I have never seen before, like the wood bees.

Now I have moved to the country and have lived here for 4 years. All of a sudden this year we are having hoards of HUGE spiders, fleas, bees that fly at night, and mice! We have them building nests all over even inside our grill! They even come up on the back porch where I dry my clothes outside and chewing holes to make nests!

I know I'm not imagining things and that there are definitely more bugs and icky critters around. Anyone else seeing the same thing?

We go in cycles here. One year we will have lots of mosquitoes; then the last two years not many, BUT hordes of Love Bugs! They are terrible.

But I haven't experienced an increase in other critters. I do, however, live with four cats and three dogs...could have something to do with it???:)

We live out in the middle of nowhwere. There have certainly been more critters running around this year. I think it's due to some well-timed rains growing the stuff they eat at just the right time.

We also notice there are a ton more hawks and falcons and whatnot eating the critters. On the ride home the other day, I counted 3 or 4 falcons on top of telephone poles. I also saw a big fat white cat stuck about halfway up one empty pole, cursing the day his owners moved out of the city.

That could be your problem right there. I grew up on 3 acres in the sticks with forest, fields, and crops all around. We only mowed a section of the yard around the house and left most of the land untouched. In the 18 years i was there we never had a bug problem because they had a natural habitat to live in and didn't need to seek it out in our house. I've had more indoor bugs living in the city. Obviously you want to get rid of the Mosquitoes (standing water is there breeding ground) but if your having a problem with something else spiders for example find out what the need to live and set something up far away from the house.Or get a cat.

Okay, I know what your comments have been, what I am saying is that I do know about the bugs, whether in the city or country. Don't you think it has something to do with the LAtter days??

And what about the SCARY BEDBUG EXPLOSION? This one is definitely a plague!

Love Bugs are terrible? That's quite contradictory. :P

Yes, those Volkswagon owners conventions can be quite unruly. Way too much Farfegnugen if you ask me.

Fargegnugen killed my parents. :(

Well, not really. But I'm saying what if. WHAT IF!

PS: No, I don't think explosions of bugs have anything to do with the latter days. Nothing in Revelations suggests a huge increase of insects. If they ended up destroying crops, then perhaps, but nothing yet.

I haven't seen more critters than usual where I live, and I have a large undeveloped field behind my yard. However, I was working on a customer's car yesterday and found half a bag's worth of dog food stuffed in the heater's intake area. They couldn't figure out why they could hear the fan running but no air was coming out. That mouse is going to be surprised when he finds his stash is gone.

When georgia2 first mentioned an explosion of bugs, I guess I read it wrong...but what came to my mind was exploding bugs.

Now, that would be gross (and definitely a sign of the end of times) to have bugs spontaneously exploding all over the place.

:eek::eek:

In the RV buisness they like to make their homes in generators.....:)

Exploding bugs sounds like something Hagrid might want to use in his Care of Magical Creatures classes.

Mostly I think there are more people seeing bugs (and other forms of wildlife...i.e. deer, moose, bears, ((yes, and the lions and tigers, too)) because there are..........

1. Lots more people than there used to be, and............................

2. more development in what used to be natural and rural areas because all those "new" people need places to live.

Or maybe it's something much more sinister, like all of the animals slowly moving into position to "control" the humans when the secret signal is given.

(my pills??? where are my pills?????)

This year alone, we are being hit by ANTS, SPIDERS, and FLEAS. Makes you wonder.

Us too! The spiders are unreal! THey are a big scary kind. And the fleas! I have always had animals, cats, dogs, birds, fish, now I even have chickens, But have never had a flea problem. We use the flea and tick monthly routine, vacuum regular, wash doggie blankets, and vacuum furniture, but no matter what I do the dogs keep scratching!

I always thought that plagues and pestilence included bugs. It seems in the past whenever plagues are described in the scriptures it included bugs. We are supposed to have bugs that actually eat skin. HUMMMMMMMM i just realized that the growing bedbug infestations do eat skin AND drink blood! Oh my gosh!
