Coke vs Pepsi

Of the two, I prefer Pepsi, but I don't drink much soda anyway. When I do, it's usually root beer. And it's gotta be A&W...there's nothing better!

Boy, does that bring back memories!!! Growing up in rural georgia, our favorite treat was going to the country store for a tin of Vienna Sausage and a Nehi orange with a packet of peanuts mixed in...then trying to get that last peanut out of the bottle!!!

Rural Georgia is where I get the habit from. My dad's mom's side of the family is from LaGrange, GA. I live in Fayetteville right now.

I know the Tifton area. I get off 75 there to go to Florida. Sounds like you are east of Tifton though.

Fugazi, I have traveled between Ga./Fla. my whole life. When we lived in Ga., we visited at least twice a year to Fla. to see Daddy's family. When we moved to Fla., we made the trip back, frequently, to be with Mama's side.

When I lived in Utah I got glass cokes at Smiths, WalMart, or Macey's. I don't know if any of them has glass bottle of pepsi though.

Guess I need to look harder. I see them when they have promo things out..like collector bottles etc. But not on a regular basis.

Lots of the convenience stores in our area carry Coke in the glass bottles, but not Pepsi...

Er, you neglected to include an option for the self-righteous. My son often tells me that cola will make my bones disintegrate...I point out that I remain upright, so he must be mistaken.

Just a note for you women, cola drinks inhibit the body's ability to process Vitamin D and Calcium, which are pretty essential in preventing osteoporosis. This effect becomes very pronounced after menopause. I'm not saying you have to give it up entirely, nor do I think you should eliminate one of the joys of life (Pepsi, that is), but please consume sparingly (particularly after menopause).

I am not usually a "combiner"...but I will try anything once. I will get back to you on that, O:K:?

I get the strangest looks at movie theatres. I HATE Diet Coke. I can handle regular coke, but diet is NASTY. But I don't want all the calories. So, I always ask the nice little teen to mix 3/4 diet coke with 1/4 Cherry Coke (or Coke, or Mr. Pibb). I get a strange look because most of the time, the teen doesn't know his/her fractions (I then show on the cup where to draw the line). Then they think it's odd.

Cherry Coke is one of the few things that can keep me awake in the middle of my 12 hour night shift (Swiss Miss hot chocolate with the little marshmallows also works ).

I have fond memories of riding in my dad's jeep scout and we would both have a glass bottle of Nehi orange drink. Man, that was the best pop in the world!!!
