This will be my last post.

I feel the need to clarify my testimony about Prophets and Obedience.

Christ is my Lord and Savior. It is only through Him that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father. I love my Heavenly Father and I do not have the words to adequately express my gratitude to Him and to Christ for all they give me daily.

We have a prophet, seer, and revelator on this earth today. His name is Thomas S. Monson. I know beyond any shadow of doubt that he will never ask us/me to do anything contrary to the will of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Therefore, I would jump off a cliff if he asked me too. Not to commit suicide but because I believe that there would be a good reason he would ask something like that or he wouldn't ask it. I cannot see what he sees. I might only be able to see the rocks at the bottom, but I believe our Prophet would see whatever would "save" me. (save as in all ways to be saved...spiritually or physcially.) This might seem like an extreme example to some but to me it shows the depth of my commitment to be obedient to the commandment of my Heavenly Father to follow the prophet's counsel.

This is not blind following. I've received a witness of my faith. I know Thomas S. Monson would never do anything or ask anyone else to do something contrary to the will of God. Just as other prophets before him.

Because I KNOW that I can trust a prophet of God I've been called insane and dishonest, not only dishonest but sincerely dishonest. The words I use to illustrate my commitment have been extracted and used against me out of context.

I've been criticized for using Nephi and Abraham as examples of obedience. I used these examples because I don't have permission from those involved to use recent examples of current obedience to our Prophet's counsel and the resulting blessings. Nephi was obedeint. Abraham was obedient. Both pleaded with Heavenly Father to not have to kill, but they were willing to follow Heavenly Father. Both received amazing blessings for their obedience. We have been commanded to be obedient too. We have been promised blessings if we are. I choose the blessings.

I'm deeply disappointed that LDS members choose to nit-pick and call names when someone bears their testimony about obedience to a prophet. That it happened on Pam's thread about this very issue speaks volumes. And that is why I'm finished here.

I appreciate the good friends I've found and the fun times in chat. I also appreciate the opportunity to bear my testimony for the world to see.

Gosh, I'm sorry to hear that.... I mean haven't been here long and don't know you very well but really enjoyed your Even A Child can Understand thread and have really enjoyed the comments I have read of yours. I think you've had some great contributions. I don't really comment much... mostly read. I read the thread you are referring to and was very shocked. I was told that this was a nice site or at least nicer than the MA&D board (though haven't been there long either). I was told that the people at this site got rid of jerks like that really quick.... guess was misinformed. Sorry to be missing out on your great comments.

They should at least consider the harm they're doing the faithful, by making us feel stupid, blind, etc.

Of course, the pride it takes to assume you know more than God's authorized spokesman wouldn't allow for considering the damage they may be doing to the faithful.

Abraham was the prophet at the time he was commanded to sacrifice Isaac, and no mortal commanded him to do so. Nephi was "constrained by the Spirit" and again, not by any mortal person. It was a matter of clarification and accuracy for which you were criticized, and not your belief or testimony.

I simply don't blame you in being heart broken. It does reminds me of those who choose the right ‘will’ succeed in this mortal life and the next. Yet, I do see, you are becoming aware of the reality of truth here with division of those who do follow and those who really don’t follow the prophet. Don’t fear…time is coming when the division of such will be removed when times become tough and hard to bear.

Applepansy, keep following the prophet and never look back and doubt. There has not been a called prophet who led any member of the church astray. In the end, we shall sit down together with our Heavenly Parents and our elder brother for the eternality. God bless and keep moving forward dear sister.

Applepansy: Not everyone that disagrees with you is your enemy and not everyone that agrees with you is your friend. If we only converse with those that agree with our opinions we will never learn. I believe that is a primary reason that we are to experience mortality.

Thank you for your insights to your covenants concerning becoming a saint of G-d and living in harmony by covenant with his prophets and covenants saints. I have found that not only can spiritual enlightenment lift us by such covenants but, at least for me, science and other pursuits are enlarged and fulfilling adding a sense of wonder and awe. Thanks for walking with me for a time. Should you choose to cross my path again – please forgive me for not having the memory I should.
