talisyn Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 Mormon bishop with Samurai sword runs off attacker - Philadelphia News, Weather and Sports from WTXF FOX 29This story is awesome! And it has legs. I predict it'll be international news before breakfast " A Samurai sword-wielding Mormon bishop helped a neighbor woman escape a Tuesday morning attack by a man who had been stalking her." Quote
jerome1232 Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 I was wondering what that facebook meme was about. Quote
Jeffmk Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 The LDS version of Chuck Norris has come to pass, this is just to cool. Quote
MarginOfError Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 [bishop] Hendrix, a pharmaceutical statistician, ...How does such a prolific liar get called as a bishop? Quote
miztrniceguy Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 Sounds a lot like Bishop Mitch Hollander in Magdalene. Quote
Anddenex Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) "Some people have bats they go to," said Hendrix. "I have my sword." Would of been awesome if he was in full gear, helmet, pads, etc... Talk about a sight! Edited April 24, 2013 by Anddenex site --> sight Quote
SanctitasDeo Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 It really is a wonderful story. Maybe there will be a movie. Quote
selek Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 If the perp was raised LDS, he had to be thinking about Mormons with swords in 1st Nephi. Quote
Dravin Posted April 25, 2013 Report Posted April 25, 2013 How does such a prolific liar get called as a bishop? I'm just thinking about the disclaimers on meeting with him:Members who meet with the bishop may suffer from reduced guilt and freedom of conscience. Do not stop taking the sacrament before meeting with the Bishop. Meeting with the bishop has been shown to cause anxiety in young adults. A small number of members have experienced informal probation, disfellowship, and excommunication after meeting with the Bishop. Quote

pam Posted April 26, 2013 Report Posted April 26, 2013 I guess even Jay Leno is talking about him. Quote
selek Posted April 26, 2013 Report Posted April 26, 2013 If you experience dismemberment or severe laceration upon meeting the bishop, see a doctor immediately. That is NOT what the Church means by the laying on of hands by one in authority! Quote
annewandering Posted April 26, 2013 Report Posted April 26, 2013 Jay Leno did have a joke about him. The joke wasnt very memorable, in fact I dont remember what it was, but the Samurai Bishop has definitely entered into our national culture. Quote
Lakumi Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 someone really should draw a picture of that... seeing the title I imagined him in full samurai armour (either historical or sci fi robotic) either way, gives me a hilarious idea for a comic strip Quote
