mirkwood Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 3.2 outside of Erda, UT. I felt that! Quote
Still_Small_Voice Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 A 3.2 earthquake on the Richter Scale is a small one. That is good that Utah is having small earthquakes. From my understanding it is relieving pressure. Quote
pam Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 And as I said on facebook, I have been laughing at how many people are talking about how it totally freaked them out. 3.2 is nothing. Daybreak79 1 Quote
SpiritDragon Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Is that enough to shake a picture off a wall? Quote
mirkwood Posted April 20, 2014 Author Report Posted April 20, 2014 No, but we don't get them often, which makes people "freak out." One of these days the faults are going to snap big time. We don't get enough little ones to relieve the pressure. Backroads and SpiritDragon 2 Quote
Quin Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Wheeeeeeeeee!(Since it sounds like everyone's fine!)I mostly grew up on the PacRim (lots of volcanic activity, very unstable), did some time in SoCal, etc. A few bad ones, but rarely anything over a 4 or 5. Lots of weekly tremors, though. My first time in NYC?I FREAKED out when a big truck (fleet of them? Sheesh.) drove by while in my friends apt. Thought we were heading for a 6 or 7 at leastI'm in the doorway shouting at everyone to get to the elevator column, or at least under a doorway...And they're all just laughing at me. Oh. Cripes. Right. Well, my east coast basement rock folks, for those of you that have never been in an earthquake... THATS EXACTLY what they feel like. And the big ones start out JUST like that. Then some giant dog shakes the building like a snake, or the floor curls up in a wave like the ocean. Seriously. Elevator columns. That's where we dig all the survivors out from. The side of the building slump off he bones. NYC kills me. Stupid trucks. Quote
AngelMarvel Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 I didn't feel it down in Centerfield...must be to far away. Of course it was only a small one so that may be the reason I didn't feel it. Quote
xVOWx Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 I was surprised by all the FB posts about it. People from different points around the valley were discussing it but I think I napped right through it. I live near downtown Salt Lake. Quote
Palerider Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Did Salt Lake go under a Tsunami warning ?? Quote
john doe Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 It wasn't that big of a deal. Lasted 2-3 seconds. Felt like I imagine if a car hit the other end of the house I was in. One jolt and that was it. Quote
slamjet Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Please excuse me as I double-over with laughter... I bet there was a lot of giggling green Palerider 1 Quote

classylady Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 I wasn't going to say this, but I decided to anyway at the risk of Pam's wrath. Don't get mad at me Pam, but, similar to how you freak when it snows, even a little, some people freak at a teensy tiny earth quake. lol pam 1 Quote
