There are, I think, two questions encompassed by the OP.
    1.  Is wealth correlated to righteousness?  I agree with the others here that it is not.
    2.  Do you have a right, as a Latter-day Saint woman, to expect your husband to provide your family with a certain standard of living?  I am probably in the minority here; but I hold that you do.  This doesn't mean you have a right to actual *wealth*; or to be supported *in style*, or that you shouldn't be expected to make sacrifices of your own.  But if you aspire to be a stay-at-home mom; I think your husband has a patriarchal obligation to make that happen for you--if not right away, then within a reasonable time period after the wedding.  I think it's reasonable to sit your fiancé down and say "okay, bub, it's going to cost $60k per year to support me and those six kids you want.  Show me how you're going to make that kind of money with your education degree."
If you *do* want an even higher standard of living--IMHO that's not necessarily bad or shallow.  But whenever you reject a potential marriage partner, you are gambling that you will be able to find another person with all the qualities of the current candidate plus whatever qualities the current guy lacks.  So you always want to be realistic about whether such a knight in shining armor does, in fact, exist.  There's a reason we call him "Mr. Right" and not "Mr. Perfect".

And I always thought that the celestial nature of chocolate meant that it never needed a blessing, given its naturally blessed condition?

I've only ever heard the "either regressing or progressing" in relation to mortals.  Though everything hinges on what one believes those words mean.
Read the full post I linked to.  I believe Elder McConkie, Elder Maxwell, and Joseph Smith (or whoever wrote Lectures on Faith).  Either God is omniscient (by definition, there is nothing more for him to learn or discover) or we are all taking a HUGE risk that whatever God doesn't already know isn't going to sink Him and us with Him.  But if God knows all (and I'm confident He does), the only "progression" left is to multiply / replicate (create worlds and help those who are willing to reach perfection*).  Lots of people can't seem to stand this idea.  They seem to think omniscience is not so omni and repetition sounds extremely boring.  I think their logic is flawed and their thinking short-sighted.  I recommend they read Nibley's Approaching Zion.
    * Or, for those in lower kingdoms, to serve in their spheres repeatedly, forever.  (Don't like the sound of that? Aim higher.)
I am perfectly willing to be wrong.  I am not willing to disregard the prophets nor ignore the soundness of their logic (which fits perfectly with all that has been revealed to mankind), nor ignore the flaws in other interpretations (which don't fit perfectly into all that has been revealed to mankind).

Wow.  It has been over 4 years.  I had nearly forgotten about this post, but I'm sure some random internet lurkers are bound to happen upon this thread and want advice about their own situation or just want to know how things turned out.  First of all, thank you all for the advice.  To all the lurkers, there is some awesome advice here.
I married her!  Never regretted it!  We're loving life.  Now, a few things that I've learned:
    1. She was never the problem.  It was always me (basically, I was an idiot).
    2. The idea of virginity is just that, an idea.
    3. What matters most is that you're best friends.  Best friends are loyal to each other no matter what happened in the past.
    4. The past isn't real.  The present is everything.  The future is a dream.

My advice, is that if you're in this type of situation, get over yourself.  Assuming your significant other is completely loyal to you, if you still find yourself "haunted" by their past then the most important thing you need to ask yourself is, "Can I be the spouse my SO needs?"  If the answer is no, then stop jeopardizing your SO's happiness by constantly dragging your thoughts through the nonexistant past.  Get out of the relationship for their sake.  If you can honestly answer yes, then go for it.  You've got an entire lifetime to make amazing memories together.
I was taught growing up that it was better to die than to lose your virtue.  I disagree with that.  I was also taught that those who had lost their virtue were like "licked ice cream" or "chewed gum".  That way of thinking is wrong, and it's very harmful.  Let go of that type of thinking.  It benefits no one.
Elizabeth Smart talked about what it feels like to be a "chewed piece of gum" and it sounds terrible: http://fox13now.com/2013/05/06/elizabeth-smart-i-felt-like-a-chewed-up-piece-of-gum/   Don't put your SO through that.  If you're best friends, nothing else matters.

Best of luck to your SO (and you) if you're in the situation I was in.  In conclusion, this image sums it all up:

Sydney Temple is only $50 a night but the accommodation is not actually on the temple grounds, its in a former hotel that the church purchased, about two kilometers down the road from the temple. A few rooms in the temple accommodation are actually used as accommodation for one or two pairs of missionaries.

To relieve your conscience, you should give serious consideration to the possibility that the figures may have been look-alikes, that is, they were in the shape of other people who only looked like Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus, and were perhaps never intended to actually represent Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus.

    (Book of Mormon | Mosiah 29:25 - 27)
25  Therefore, choose you by the voice of this people, judges, that ye may be judged according to the laws which have been given you by our fathers, which are correct, and which were given them by the hand of the Lord.
26  Now it is not common that the voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right; but it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right; therefore this shall ye observe and make it your law—to do your business by the voice of the people.
27  And if the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you; yea, then is the time he will visit you with great destruction even as he has hitherto visited this land.
