I recognize that the male and female anatomy is different and some things at acceptable to me and some things aren’t. I also recognize we aren’t discussing female swimsuits. We’re discussing male swimsuits. Some I find to comply with my expectations of modesty, some I done.
-
Because male anatomy is different than female anatomy and the expectations are different. I’m a little surprised this needs to be explained to you. You may disagree, but my reasons should be fairly obvious.
-
It has nothing to do with the thoughts of another. It has to do with modesty.

After we are judged and sent to whatever we deserve, then what?

I haven’t seen anything to suggest we’ll be stacking BBs. -

Does masterbation break the law of chastity?
Grunt replied to Anonymous1101's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Personally, I believe masturbation to be a violation of the Law of Chastity. Whether that is a sin or not is irrelevant to me.- 154 replies

We don't have a troop. At least I've never heard anyone mention it, and the Bishop is listed in LDS Tools as having all the scout related callings.
-
So that was LDS specific, not a general occurrence in some troops?

I have a Levenger that the converter keeps falling out of. Very messy. Any fixes for this?

I have no experience in the LDS Scouting relationship. I chose not to enter my children in scouting when they came of age due to the changes in BSA policies. However, a very good non-LDS friend of mine is active in scouts. He's been ranting about how LDS ruined scouts, gave away Eagle Scout awards, and he's glad they're gone. He said many LDS kids would join a non-LDS den because the LDS dens were so bad. Sounds like sour grapes, but I have nothing to base it on.

I Cant Wrap My Head Around Men Becoming Gods
Grunt replied to Ken S.'s topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Welcome. As others mentioned, eternity goes in both directions. I too had trouble with this. Through prayer and study, it sorted itself out. I'm sure it will for you as well. -
After my experiences I don't dismiss much anymore.

I’m a little disappointed in the tack this thread has taken. Some seem so bent on being correct in their interpretation they’ll push a narrative that disparages church leaders to win an argument. We absolutely shouldn’t forget the past, but neither should we live in it. That’s why we have modern revelation. You all can point to academic essays and the writings of called men to support your bias, but to what end? Great. You’re correct. Feel better? Have you bolstered the faith of those who read your words? Have you moved The Christ’s work forward? Have you ministered to those around you? Ive said it before and I’ll say it again, I wish we had a “members only” group where you guys can bash each other over the head about whether or not so and so was a racist as a natural man. I wonder what the agenda of some of you is, based on the comments and the discussions you’ve chosen to participate in. I’ll just step back and accept my “don’t stand in unrighteous judgment” comments, and acknowledge that they are deserved.

seal A Death, A Birth, and wanting to get sealed.

Odd that someone won't even participate in an activity once a week for the benefit of their family. -
Untrue. Again, you're equating lack of evidence of the former to be evidence of the latter.
-
Meh. There are things I question or don't have a testimony of. Lots of them. I'm not saying there was or wasn't a flood. I'm certainly not ready to make stand that there was. Nor am I ready to say that just because we don't have evidence of it, it never happened. As I stated in my initial comment, I don't particularly care as it's pretty irrelevant to my beliefs and/or the point made by that scripture. I just always question the reasoning of people who dwell on things like this. I just don't see how it matters.
-
Perhaps. It's also important to note that the Church refers to the flood as a baptism of the earth. Baptism is total immersion.
-
I'm not making any claim at all. The scripture is. It is either true or it isn't. If it isn't, I'll be over here getting caught up on 6 months of back coffee.
-
Such as what? Maybe. Maybe not. One would expect to see evidence, but lack of that evidence doesn't establish the event never existed, it just establishes that evidence hasn't been found.
-
Scientifically, I don't know how a man can rise from the dead and ascend into heaven. Again, it's odd to pick and choose things that don't fit with science.
-
Lack of evidence for isn't evidence against.

In my opinion, the examples you gave amplify my life. While I certainly prefer paper scriptures, I can't deny that the Gospel Library app makes studying SO much easier. Not just the highlighting, but the referencing, indexing, etc puts everything right at my fingertips. I can pull up something to study, then click right through to General Conference talks on the subject. With cell phones, if I'm stuck in traffic I can call ahead to let people know. They aren't wasting their time waiting for me. I can make phone calls on my long commute which allows me to spend less time at the office and more time with my family. I'm no stranger to carrying a map pack in my car, but the GPS makes things MUCH faster and simpler. I can find a store or the nearest gas station on my route without skipping a beat. We extremely limit electronics in my home because they can be a huge wall to human interaction, though.

How was the earth created? How was the Son of God resurrected and returned to Heaven? How did God return to Earth to minister to Joseph? The list of things that can't be explained by science is very long. Why focus on this one?

If "those you know" are saying the Celestial Kingdom is Hell without SSA, then you need to "know" some better people. Neither would I. That's what Agency is all about. Jesus isn't going to compel you to stop sinning. Again, of course. We aren't going to deny anyone anything. Except, of course, membership in the church, a Temple Recommend, and any of the ordinances that go along with it. Gay marriage, now THAT'S Satan's plan.
