I'm sorry that sounds so harsh. I really do feel bad for your struggle. I do know it is hard. I just also know that it is a choice. If it consumes your mind, ride the wave. Find something to get you through that wave. If you're sitting at the laptop and have the urge, shut down your laptop and go for a jog. Redirect your attention to something positive. Leave your phone at home and go to the park to read Scripture. These are healthy choices.

Know your audience. Nobody said what happened to you was your fault. However, how you deal with it IS your choice. I was abused as a child. I was raised in a family so dysfunctional you would cringe if I posted the details. It IS always as simple as making a choice. People say it isn't to justify making the wrong choice. Once I realized this, I stopped making as many wrong choices.

My RM said they make comfortable garments for exercising. I have plenty of time to figure it out. They'll probably toss me by then, anyway.

That was one of my thoughts. Not the issue of disrespect, but going through 10-14 garments a week.

I probably shouldn't even post about this since I know nothing about garments, but the talk about exercise certainly interests me. I run and/or lift weights every work day. After, I shower and change in a very crowded locker room. Do they make exercise garments? Running long distances in improper clothes can be bloody and miserable. Changing in a crowded locker room? That's not exactly keeping your garments private.

This. While lust can grow into love, it certainly doesn't build the foundation of a healthy relationship. It's amazing what purity in thought and deed can do for your marriage.

I’m sorry you are having such a struggle with this and you should absolutely talk to your Bishop. However, the simple answer is just stop. You consciously make a decision to put yourself in situations where it’s easy to give in to temptation. Make better choices. Get a chaperone if you need to.

I don’t believe this. I believe we don’t always understand why God gives us some rules, but I don’t believe they exist only to test our faith.
