  1. We each have our own experiences. My, albeit very limited, experience is that the claim was not very believable.
  2. I believe everyone should be treated fairly and equally. There is a difference between being treated equally and having special treatment.
  3. I had a commercial diving company in college. Spending 6-8 hours a day underwater all winter in New England really did my sinuses in. I know a few people who sell doTerra and swear buy it. Not that I don't trust them, but they ARE selling something.
  4. I know. I'm right there with you.
  5. I think it's pretty safe to say when someone creates another account in order to support herself in arguing that the Church is wrong or has issues, or to start topics to shine a bad light on the Church, a convincing case can be made that the person is now anti.
  6. i completely get where you are coming from. I think there are times when you are spot on. I think there are other times when worship is joyous, not solemn. It's also tough to hold that standard when many of the talks from Apostles had specific laugh lines in them.
  7. I try to be as health-conscious as possible, to include raising much of my own food. I've always heard about essential oils, but they seem pretty confusing. Does anyone use them? I know some are topical, diffused, or can be taken internally, but the results vary. Quality seems to be a major concern. I don't have any major ailments, I'm just looking for things that may have me reaching for something other than ibuprofen when my sinuses are killing me or a knee is acting up.
  8. Or, more likely, just made the whole thing up.
  9. It didn't bother me, either. I don't have a history with the Church and I spent a lot of time as a Baptist. Baptists yell a lot.
  10. I'm new. You folks are just changing things I haven't learned yet. You'll get it all sorted out by the time I get there.
  11. I've never heard from a Home Teacher.
  12. Sounds like they're just loosening up the "home" portion of Home Teaching as well as the visitation expectations.
  13. At times I hear a yell during a talk. Are there protestors who come in or is it members who are displeased with something specific said? Are they escorted out?
  14. Looks like you're released.
  15. I'm interested in what "ministering" will look like. I was really looking forward to being a Home Teacher. Interestingly, only council members can currently see the details. Will it be a calling? Is it a request to everyone? It looks like there is reporting involved quarterly, but who does it?
  16. I wish I knew how to use that family tree stuff
  17. Two words: Ice. Cream.
  18. Why does that bother you? This is no longer a spiritual matter, it's a legal matter.
  19. No, it was the brass key chain. Used to be very popular in the Navy. We clean out or car bags spring and fall, to make them season appropriate.
  20. Were you in the Navy?
  21. I'll take a look.
  22. I didn't mean to be critical. I just always look forward to reading your answers, too.
  23. I took it as more "newly introduced to the faith".
  24. I'm NEW! I didn't even know they served ice cream for Priesthood conference!
  25. I'm guessing that saying comes from farming communities and is very true. I love my neighbors, but probably wouldn't if their animals ate my garden or killed my livestock.
