And the fourth problem? The person you shot, even if totally justified, probably has friends, family, and even total strangers who will see you and your family as the enemy. And since you used lethal force, they’ll feel justified in using it too. No matter how amazing and indestructible you think you are, you are not.
-
I totally agree with all of that. Now, you need to tell the John Wayne wannabes who carry guns in their private home and think they can shoot children who just want their soccer ball back after it accidentally went into their yard.
-
I sort of hope he doesn’t wrestle anymore. I don’t want to see him as Terry Funk 2.0. I’m a big fan of Funk but he wrestled way beyond his prime. Does Raven look okay?
-
Understand totally. The right is mostly correct on this issue but they take it out on the wrong people.
-
No. Tell that to George Zimmerman. And the prosecutor who tried to prosecute him. Kyle Rittenhouse would also like to speak to you. So would Lamar Putney. I could go on. I’m 100% confident there are other people who used deadly force who were arrested and prosecuted, even if they were justified. There’s a right wing persecution complex where people are terrified that the government is coming for their right of self defense. I’m saying that’s somewhat justified. In fact, it’s the ONLY right wing alarmist dogma I think is mostly correct. Apparently it’s not? Which is it?
-
Using deadly force, even if justified, will almost certainly get you detained and arrested. Prosecuted? Maybe. Many prosecutors care much more about headlines and their own careers then right and wrong so it depends.

Aww, bro thank you for telling me. I’m a big fan of his going back to his Johnny Polo gimmick in the WWE. His return to ECW and second feud against Dreamer is iconic.
-
That surprise me too! Odd law for such a conservative state.
-
Very glad your experience is different!
-
I got that too, but just because we both like comics. Which means we are identical twins of course. I absolutely hate math and the only physics concept I remember is that if you drop something, it’ll probably fall to the ground. So the jokes were either above my head or just not funny.
-
Generally? No, but LDS are far more tolerant of other faiths then other faiths are of the Latter Day Saints. That’s a hill I will die on.
-
Bro, as a comic book fan and major geek, I totally agree with you. Non comic geeks always tell me that I’d love the show, but the two times I saw BBT, I did not laugh a single time.
-
Boom. Yup.

To be clear, not every Catholic feels the way I described. And my experience was in a very small, insular and conservative upbringing. My parents grudgingly accepted the changes in Vatican II and they were considered the “liberals” in their circle.
-
Great. As someone who raised Catholic, went to Catholic schools, daily mass for several years, was an altar boy, my experience is vastly different. Catholics hate Protestant “heretics” and even other Catholics who take communion on the hand and not on the tongue. So yes, I call “rubbish” on this study.
-
No, and for the same reason some LDS dislike other LDS. Pre V2 Catholics look down their nose at those who accept the changes of Vatican II. Catholic gals who veil look down on those who don’t. Catholics who take communion on the tongue look down on those who don’t. 99% of the time it’s the “Look how Holy and obedient I am compared to you. I’m a REAL catholic and you are not.” I’m positive every church has that.
-
As a former Catholic, I highly advise you to go into a Knights of Columbus hall and inform them you are a believing LDS. Then return and report to us how Catholics treat and think of LDS.

@Vort, how would a situation like Jamie described play in Seattle? In Boston-a city just as liberal-I’m almost certain that the sympathies would be with the victim here. I’m sure you could get a jury of Cambridge communists who would throw him in jail, but even the average liberal Bostonian would be sympathetic.
-
Oh, I understand and agree with you-to a point. If it’s naive of me to say, fine, but I think even in blue Massachusetts a situation like @Jamie123described would be hard to find. Not impossible though.
-
God bless America. That would never fly here.
-
Still, glad it wasn’t anything horrible and that you can laugh about it.
-
Dude that was scary to read. Sorry you went through it.

It’s ironic that pro choice people are the first ones to be appalled at using a firearm to protect yourself, even if the situation absolutely calls for it. and to be fair, it’s ironic that some pro lifers seem to have no issue with brandishing a shotgun whenever someone has the audacity to play a childish game of ringing your doorbell and running away.

that always bothered me too. In most comic stores I’ve gone to no, you can’t open vintage comics and just flip through them.
