AMEN. Technology is scary to those set in their ways or uncomfortable with change. But it helps to remember that tech almost always makes the world better for humanity.
-
That’s awful. If it makes you feel better I’ve seen conservatives self righteously say they’ll switch to microbrews. Totally unaware that most microbrews aren’t usually run by Trump supporters.
-
No doubt, those are all very frustrating. I’ve heard people say the same thing about Boston drivers. I make it a point to never get angry or frustrated when I’m driving. I pay attention to the roads of course but I’m always listening to music, podcasts, books. Keeps me centered

Every city thinks “their traffic” is the worst, but I still believe DC has the most annoying drivers and massive traffic jams.
-
That troubles me too, but isn’t it human nature? I’ve seen people drop friendships and never speak to one another again over political disagreements and other really shallow reasons. So it shouldn’t surprise any of us that society on a much larger scale does this too.

I went to services once where the pastor said “Remember, treating people with Christ like compassion starts after service is over in the parking lot.”
-
Uh, no. You are nothing of the sort. Don’t be too hard on yourself. If you really were acrimonious or obnoxious you probably wouldn’t be aware of it or care. But that’s not you at all.
-
To be fair, the overwhelming majority of LDS at least try to do this.

We had one where a lady came up and said there was no right or wrong, just what you feel. It was an incoherent mess. The next week the poor Stake President (the nicest man I ever met, to this day) had to go up and basically say everything this woman said was wrong.
-
Exactly. I get the feeling that the real Scott Harvaths out there don’t tell everyone what a super cool spy they are during testimony Sundays.
-
Yeah, I’m totally lost too. That was my impression as well @Traveler
-
Apathetic. His personal story is uninteresting to me and I probably wouldn’t notice or care.
-
Oh, I agree totally. In fact, it stunned me to learn than even the liberals/leftists down here usually own guns. Up north that wasn’t my experience. Vastly different kind of liberalism. Much more snotty and elitist up north. And you are correct with the meme too.

The lobbying branch of the NRA was created in 1975, and while they might have had that goal in the past, the democratic party in 1965 was hardly progressive on race. So if you want to open that door, you can, but I’m not sure that’s in your sides best interest. American leftists are very squirmy on guns. They fail to comprehend that the best way to stop a race based attack is to carry a 9mm. Same with LGBTQ rights advocates, womens rights advocates etc

I said the same thing to my dad last week, just in casual conversation. I grew up with some toy marionettes and puppets and it seems like kids don’t have that today. Oh well, different generations like different things.

Welcome! Hope you love it here bro.

Single members are just as capable as married members

I’ve only known three bishops and all were fine people, but I’m constantly amazed how many truly great people don’t get called for leadership positions. It’s astounding to me! -
Dating/marriage between converts and non-converts

I get the joke of course. But, one should give serious consideration to settling. Sure, have demands where you won’t budge, but everyone in life is a package deal. Having crazy high standards that you refuse to budge on means you’ll be single for life. -
SETI, Extraterrestrials, UFO’s and G-d (Devine beings)

On that same record, I completely agree with you. Would you say most physicists share our views? -
Try to check out DDP vs Goldberg in October of 98 on Nitro. For two guys who can’t wrestle they put on a great match. Very basic, no thrills but still fun.
-
Aww bro one of my all time favorite wrestlers. I’m sure you know this but he was a valet and only started training to actually wrestle well into his 30’s. I know the cool kids say he wasn’t a great technical wrestler (and he wasn’t) but I still like the guy.
