Elder Oaks Tackles a Hard Hitting Question
LDSGator replied to person0's topic in General Discussion
Just to be clear, while I do think men are more visual creatures, I 100% agree that men should guard their thoughts against lust. Just saying we (heterosexual men) are easily attracted to beautiful women isn’t me saying lust is appropriate. Sorry if I wasn’t clear. -
Elder Oaks Tackles a Hard Hitting Question

All great points. -
Oh okay. We agree totally. In fact, down here I think leaving a dog outside in hot summer sun should be a felony and should get you 3-5 years in the state pen.
-
As someone who has owned dogs for twenty years (from pits to pugs) I totally agree. If you really care about your dog you’ll bust your butt teaching them manners and proper behavior. Having said that many of us have dogs for protection/house alarms. My Dal is like an overly paranoid mall security guard and will bark to tell me something is wrong. If the neighbors don’t like it, tough.

Elder Oaks Tackles a Hard Hitting Question

It absolutely applies to them. But lets be fair. If we applied the letter of the law here, every single man would be excommunicated for adultery. Gay or straight. Not being funny. Male sexual nature is very attracted to the visual. -
Lol. I confirm column A, strongly deny column B Cheap Trick Boy.

Every single heavy metal band in existence has gotten that accusation before, lol!

it sounded like someone put a Zeppelin CD in the car stereo, invited some friends over and they all had a nice little sing a long in front of the campfire.

Bonham’s kid was one of the headliners last night. It was like ordering Led Zeppelin on Wish.

Time will tell.

Yup, any port in a storm, especially when you are the only available port. However, if the boycott was really that soul crushing to Bud then it would still be much less busy than I saw.

Bud Light is damaged, but the Bud Light tent at Rockville last night was packed and people all over the festival were drinking Bud Light. I was sort of surprised it was so popular actually!

And I went to college in the early 2000’s and in the Northeast
-
Yup. Same on other social media for me too.

No argument there. Pretty nasty.
-
No worries. Our experiences are very different. Even being the sole conservative in my major (yup, I was literally it) during college it never sunk to that level with my liberal/leftist classmates.

How often do you get accused of being a Nazi? Most of the people I “debate” with (even online, even leftists) don’t call me a “Nazi.” Just a theory, but when debating with Trumpers you are far more likely to be called names. The other bitter pill is (usually, not always) when debating hardcore religious people there’s a 99% chance they’ll bring up your personal habits in an attempt to discredit you or feel better about themselves. Even if/especially if you share religious beliefs with them! That’s just as pleasant as being called a Nazi. Maybe more so, actually. We’re all guilty of this.

That’s my grave concern as well. I have zero issues with an adult undergoing treatment. It’s their life, not mine. Kids who can’t join the army or get tattoos should not be allowed such a huge, life changing choice.

I used to think that everyone should read books and have friends that they disagree with, but I kind of doubt that. I understand that some people simply can’t handle hearing opposing views and should just stay in their bubble. They’ll be much happier.

Lol! I had someone tell me once here that if I ignored news/politics I would “feel more at peace and with the spirit.” She meant well, but was dead wrong. I tried it for two days, hated it, and quickly went back to my news junkie ways. Oddly, knowing what is going on in the world-good and bad-provides me with more peace than ignoring the outside world.
