  1. That’s true, but I have yet to see a true believer of any political/religious stripe who can engage in self-critique. It’s like asking a cat to explain the nuances of Paradise Lost.
  2. 100% correct It used to bother me that people viewed defending men as somehow downplaying or dismissing the horrors of domestic violence against women. But since I’ve seen that response 10,000 times for 20+ years, it has no effect on me at all anymore. Domestic violence of all types is just awful.
  3. One of my best friends suffered from it. So it’s a passionate issue for me too.
  4. Obama owes him an apology.
  5. Amazingly, one of the biggest advocates of paying attention to male victims of abuse was a very leftwing feminist professor I had in college for just one class. Everyone here (including me) would disagree with her on 99% of issues, but to her eternal credit she had no tolerance for those who believed the rubbish that only women are victims of abuse.
  6. I remember when people laughed at Mitt Romney for calling Russia a threat back in 2012. 😞
  7. Sorry to laugh, but this is awesome.
  8. Do they take that attitude outside? Will house cats generally run from conflict if placed outside?
  9. Love it. Enjoy the day my friend.
  10. @Ironhold are you watching Backlash?
  11. This American watched a good chunk of it and enjoyed it.
  12. I’ll predict what will happen next. He’ll claim he’s just “asking questions” and pretend he’s the innocent victim here who doesn’t understand how he’s coming across and we can’t understand his intentions. We’ve seen it all before but I’m 99% sure he thinks he asking questions none of us have heard. How close am I @romans8? Be honest.
  13. I don’t think he knows.
  14. Dude I am so lost with your posts. What are you trying to say here? Explain it nice and easy so I can understand it.
  15. The sign is common but I haven’t lived in an apartment in decades so I don’t know about the inspections or punishments.
  16. Manny, was it from Infocom? The same company that made Zork, Lurking Horror, etc?
  17. Agree. I think the vast majority of people with cats and dogs are able to keep clean houses.
  18. And given that there are only seven basic plots, I totally agree with @The Folk Prophet that everyone steals, copies or imitates. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Seven_Basic_Plots
  19. “Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal; bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it into something better, or at least something different.”-T.S. Eliot
  20. I had a buddy in college who majored in engineering or something like that. I looked through one of his textbooks and didn’t even understand the symbols, much less the numbers. He was a super nice guy and kindly said he didn’t understand how English majors could write ten page papers on Shakespeare plays. This guy was so bright that he almost certainly could have excelled at any major he picked.
  21. DUDE! I remember playing Zork on my Commodore 64. Among many other classics.
  22. Great answer. Truth.
  23. @The Folk Prophet as someone who makes music professionally, how do you make sure you aren’t copying famous songs? Not out of malice, just subconsciously.
