Pa Pa got a reaction from Leah in ROBERTS: If Sue loves Joe and Tom loves Joe, Sue could marry him and Tom can't. Why isn't that a straightforward question of sexual discrimination?
My youngest daughter (now 30) is gay...she has a "wife", I have decades members long friends who have grown cold to me as a result. My daughter helped with my youngest son (via assistance help pay for his mission) and comes over every Sunday with her spouse for Sunday dinner. Some of my LDS friends think I am encouraging her by letting her come over with he spouse. My daughter nd I are very close. But I love her as I do with all of my other 3 childern. I love her with all my heart and would lay down my life in an instant for here. As far as any childern she might adopt or have through artificially, I would treat that child I would treat like my other 8 grandchildren. But God and nature has already passed judgment on the children of those...they cannot reproduce and even if adopted, in short they cannot ensure if they would be gay. But like all others we should be loving and compassionate, just like all God's children, that we remain blameless before our Father and Saviour, that we remain the worthy children of our Father in Heaven. Because I need to remain forgiven and bathed in the blood of Christ. God help us all to b the same.

My son-in-law has been sick, and he came by to pick of my daughter and my grandchildren. He has been feeling very bad for a number of days. While here my daughter went into the bathroom to check on him. He was balled up in the floor and hurting ver badly. My daughter asked if we could give him a blessing. So myself and my son blessed him. During the blessing he began to cry, when I asked why he was crying he said because he was healed and repeated a number of time "the Priesthood is real" (he said it about three times with tears flowing. I told him; of course it was, having served a mission you know it's true and real.
    It was great!

Serving a mission is not required to be a member. As a people we are supposed to live per this quote; "every member a missionary". As such we come out of the waters of baptism into our calling as a missionary, and are released upon our death here on earth. However we also know that our mission field will then be to administer to those who never had the opportunity in this life...that mission will not end until the "final judgement. I try to go out once or twice a week with our missionaries, as a convert who was already married, I could not go. But now that I am retired so I try to help the missionary cause and calling.

OK...quick. His Grace is sufficient, as we cannot live perfect lives. As such, when I stand before God in the last day and passing by the Saviour (See 2 Nephi 9: 41) to gain access to the Father...all I care about is; Grace and not Justice", which Christ will be able to do will all love and wisdom. I cannot know every sin I might have committed, and this is why Grace, and Love will be my Salvation.

We life in a world where it is abuse to speak out against anything. Thankfully we can still speak out about child abuse.

Knowing how many in the world wish all Jews dead...one can only wonder at why such a hard line. Having lived in West Germany many years, I would have not remained there and that was in the 1970's. Anti-Semitism is alive and well throughout the world, not just anti-Israel. Even the short history of our own faith is one in which we had to fight or flee. Put that is a context of 1,000's of years and you will understand, "Never Again". I grew up in Atlanta and our largest Jewish congregation on Peachtree St was bombed when I was a boy. We felt our windows shake.

    Fractured light against the sky
As clouds conceal the westward flight.
    Autumn colors that brightly shine
Announce the coming of the night.
The day is ending, as it should
Content that I have done my best.
While others bid me labor on,
I desire to be at rest!
With the ending now before me
To the victor goes the race,
The finish line is clearly drawn,
In the lines upon my face.
Like a warrior from the battle
For peace my should doth seek.
    The spirit strong and willing
    The flesh, so very weak.
    Weep not for my family,
Weep not for me, my friend.
    This is a new beginning,
    And not a tragic end.
I am call to other labors
In the service of my Lord.
I'm not giving up the battle,
I'm just laying down my sword.

I don't own anything orange...bad look for a man, and you are right. No one would know...my upbringing is NEVER use Church for political statements. I will wear a flag lapel pin, these days learning more toward American / Israel pins. I live in a Ward that has 6 Jews (by linage) in my Ward. Each of them are uneasy about the way Israel is being thrown under the bus and the reemergence of anti-Semitic attitudes rising again in Europe.

Very observant...there are things in the Bible if repeated might get one banned. But what makes most Prophets so assume is they reveal their weaknesses In even every book, in all humanly. And Christ is indeed Superman...good post. Just as with us, like all men are flawed as all Prophets. God calls the flawed, as it is all he has to called. What makes them great is all they accomplish despite their weaknesses. God bless them! :)

I joined the Church I. Germany when there were only 4,000,000 members and being from Georgia where there were few members. As such since there were few members in Germany and Georgia, I am a pioneer. Not to mention my wife's aunt many times removed joined when Missionary activities first started here...she joined, went West and became one of became one of Brigham Young's wives. So pioneer can mean many things. I am the only member in my family (of course my wife, children and grandchildren are members) also makes me a pioneer. So from 4,000,000 when I joined and now 15,000,000 counts for something. Rejoice that (if you are the first) or that your family joined a Church of pioneers. :) God bless you. If we all live long enough, we will one day marvel at how many membership grows too, and we will talk about when the Church was so small and how we helped grow it. I marvel how much it has grown just since I joined and how much it has prospered. At my age, I won't get to see it grow by 3x+, like it has since I joined...but maybe, who knows.

There is a scripture where Adam is asked, "Why do you offer sacrifice"? He answers, "I know not save The Lord Commands me". This is why we do things we may not understands, because The Lord commands us. In time spiritually maturer will come and the maturer of age will bring understanding will come. We do not live in the dark forever, though it seems at times we do. I would not drink milk if commanded not to. You are young...wisdom will come, I promise. God loves you enough to make it so...this is my faith that he will, as he has in my own life so often.
