I personally do not like to read the Book of Mormon chronologically by myself anymore because I feel I do not get much out of it. It is much better for me to read with other people or by topic. I've even pondered reading the Book of Mormon upside down to change my perspective. This situation may exist with others and I hope you have spiritual experiences with the LORD as you seek to study the curriculum this year.

Only way I have found to shut off most of the data mining is using third party software. You shut it off but the Windows 10 operating system is still giving out a lot of data from my research and when Windows 10 forces software updates many times it will just change the settings in your operating system again to what Microsoft wants. Use Spybot Anti-Beacon if you really want to shut off most of the data mining. -

If you do not mind Microsoft harvesting most of the information on your computer (selling the information to third parties) and forcing software updates into your operating system then Windows 10 is not bad. I use it at work but I do not like it. -

I will continue to state that I do not like the Windows 10 operating system. I'm still running with Windows 7 and Linux Mint version 18 and I will do everything in my power to not load Windows 10 onto my desktop computers. đ -
The honest, unironic feminist mindset: Nature is sexist

Article states the following: "Cases of gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis have reached the highest levels ever recorded, according to a recent report from the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention." This is another reason among many to live the law of chastity in my opinion. -
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
Still_Small_Voice replied to anatess2's topic in General Discussion
After further thought on this and analyzing other people's thoughts this is what I feel happened with episodes seven to nine of Star Wars. Disney wanted to make three movies after the original Star Wars Trilogy but had no overall plan. Someone else said this and I completely agree with it: "You do not take a multi billion dollar franchise and just wing it as if they were playing Whose Line is it Anyway? Star Wars should have received the Peter Jackson treatment [like Lord of the Rings] by filming all three films at once and have a coherent story arc." When you have no overall plan for a decent story line for three movies this is what can happen. It was not as if there was nothing good in episodes seven to nine of Star Wars because I did enjoy movies seven and eight. The Rise of Skywalker felt to me like someone wrote the story line then handed off the script to another writer. This writer was then rushed with seven other editors to just hurry up and get a movie finished. There are undeveloped driftings on the plot line and material put in that just makes the movie end feel incomplete and silly to me. -
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
Still_Small_Voice replied to anatess2's topic in General Discussion
Don't read my post if you do not want to see movie spoilers. I saw The Rise of Skywalker movie this morning. A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi were very great movies to me. The number nine movie was a huge disappointment in my opinion. The special effects were great but the ending ruined the whole movie for me. The intense force power sucking and the omnipotent super force lightning at the Zeus scale was just stupid to me. The more I think about the new force powers the more I hate the movie. Then where the heck did Palpatine get the resources to produce hundreds of Star Destroyer ships each one mounted with a cannon strong enough to destroy an entire planet? They spent over 150 million dollars making this movie. They should have hired some Star Wars experts and writers. At least I can still watch the original Star Wars Trilogy and just forget this movie. -
There are a lot more tasty treats than gingerbread for Christmas anyway. I've gained too much weight lately from all the treats so it's time to exercise more self control and hit the gym. I hope everyone had a good 2019.

"And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see." -- John 1:46 I might rephrase the question. "Can there any good thing come out of the Salt Lake Tribune?"

From what I read Myles Garrett was suspended the rest of the 2019 season which will cost him a little over $1,100,000 because he is not playing. In addition to this Myles was fined $45,623 by the football league. Read more at: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/11/21/myles-garrett-appeal-mason-rudolph/

Itching Ears -- Alive and Well
Still_Small_Voice replied to Anddenex's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
When I hear of an unusual teaching in the Church we need to remember this counsel given to us: "Elder Christofferson taught: 'It should be remembered that not every statement made by a Church leader, past or present, necessarily constitutes doctrine. It is commonly understood in the Church that a statement made by one leader on a single occasion often represents a personal, though well-considered, opinion, not meant to be official or binding for the whole Church.' In the following conference, Elder Andersen taught this principle: 'The doctrine is taught by all 15 members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve. It is not hidden in an obscure paragraph of one talk." -- October General Conference 2019, Trust in the Lord -- Dallin H. Oaks -
If the Earth were hit by a comet...

Charon (the moon of Pluto) is roughly about half the size of Pluto according to information I read. I believe the mass of Charon is also roughly half of Pluto's mass as well. I also read the following about Pluto and Charon's orbit: Pluto also keeps its same face toward Charon. Like two dancers embracing, these two constantly face each other as they spin across the celestial dance floor. Astronomers call this a double tidal lock. It appears reading Doctrine & Covenants section 76 there are going to be a lot of inhabitants in the telestial kingdom of glory. If the below scripture is correct in what I read from it that may be the kingdom with most of the inhabitants of the Earth in it. "But behold, and lo, we saw the glory and the inhabitants of the telestial world, that they were as innumerable as the stars in the firmament of heaven, or as the sand upon the seashore; And heard the voice of the Lord saying: These all shall bow the knee, and every tongue shall confess to him who sits upon the throne forever and ever;" -- Doctrine & Covenants 76:109-110

That was not at all what I intended. To me this Reign of Judges: Title of Liberty movie seems like another door to share part of Christ's gospel with a lot of people in the world. I just wanted people to share it with others and support the cause if they wanted to and had an extra $25 to do so.

If you really liked it buy the Reign of Judges short movie D.V.D. and Blu-Ray discs and then show them to others. I just bought the discs for this purpose. Edit: It's too bad they did not get Darin Southam to direct the Book of Mormon videos the church just released recently. They would have been far better in my opinion.

posted by Bill Galluccio -- November 15th 2019 The National Football League announced that Cleveland Browns' defensive end Myles Garrett has been suspended indefinitely following an ugly incident at the tail end of the Browns 21-7 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday (November 14) night. The Browns were just eight seconds away from their fourth win of the season when the game spiraled out of control. The Steelers were running what they thought would be one final play when Garrett took down Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph after he dumped the football off to running back Trey Edmunds. The two players tussled on the ground, and Garrett ripped Rudolph's helmet off his head. As the two players stood up, they started to argue and push each other. Steelers offensive linemen Matt Feiler and David DeCastro tried to break it up, but Garrett clocked Rudolph on the head with his own helmet. As the two players fought, both teams rushed to the endzone sparking a melee between the players. After the players were separated and officials regained control of the game, Garrett, Brown's defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi, and Steelers' center Maurkice Pouncey were ejected for their roles in the fight. After the game, Garrett apologized for losing his cool and admitted that his actions would hurt the team in the long term. WARNER TODD HUSTON -- NOVEMBER 6, 2019 International airline Delta has agreed to allow graphic gay sex scenes to appear in movies shown during flights, according to reports. In a statement published this week, Delta rushed to tell homosexual activist groups that it had not requested to have âhomosexual contentâ removed from movies shown on its flights. âWe value our in-flight entertainment options as a means to reflect the diversity of the world,â the company statement said. âWe are reviewing the processes of our third-party editing vendors to ensure that they are aligned with our values of diversity and inclusion.â Fox News reported that Delta said it is immediately putting a new process in place for managing content available through Deltaâs entertainment services. There was a $100,000 dollar bill printed a long time ago. The Bureau of Engraving & Printing, a division of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, states, âThe $100,000 Gold Certificate was used only for official transactions between Federal Reserve Banks and was not circulated among the general public. This note cannot be legally held by currency note collectors.â There were also a $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000 printed. The $10,000 bill was printed from 1918 to 1934 I believe but they were extremely rare. If a bill of that value was printed in 2019 because of inflation my calculations show it would be worth around $200,000. Presently the $100 is the largest bill printed. The $500 bill and above have been discontinued.

LINCOLN, Nebraska (CBS Local) -- October 30th 2019 â A man tried to use a fake $1 million bill to open a checking account at a local bank branch, police in Nebraska said. The man presented the bill to a teller at a Pinnacle Bank branch in Lincolnâs Havelock neighborhood Monday morning, witnesses told investigators. He adamantly claimed it was real despite attempts by tellers to convince him otherwise. The man left the bank with the phony bill â and without a new account. I do not like this either. We as saints should promote morality and righteousness.
