I am in the process of saving for a new central processing unit. I would like to get the Intel Core i7 6600K processor. This will enable me to not have to get a new motherboard for hopefully another 4.5 years or longer. I have 64-bit Windows 7 and Linux Mint 18.3 on two separate hard drives. I just switch the hard drive priority in my basic input output system when I want to switch operating systems. Only thing I really like to use Windows 7 for is video gaming. The main video games I play are a racing similator called GTR2 with a steering wheel and foot pedals and Defense of the Ancient 2 (D.o.T.A. 2). Everything else pretty much I like to do on my computer is with Linux Mint 18.3. I also like to play the Deal or No Deal gameshow video game with Linux.

I thought this was a reason to raise this thread back to life. The below are some 2018 September statistics of what personal computers are on the Internet and what operating system is being used: Windows 81.76% Macintosh Operating System 13.49% Unknown 1.99% Linux Operating System 1.68% Chrome Operating System 1.08% From what I remember in the past Windows used have about 90% of the marketshare. I think Windows 10 is taking it's toll. I am still using 64-bit Linux Mint and Windows 7.

My mind goes along the lines of supporting Constutional principles. Presently I am not a Libertarian but they seem to lean towards my line of thinking. I believe in the Bill of Rights as much as I believe in the Articles of Faith. There is so much inspiration written in Bill of Rights and in the thirteenth Amendment of the Constitution. I also find great wisdom in the division of powers in the Constitutional system. The jury of one peers was meant to stand as a great hedge against tyranny and I hope it may continue to be a powerful influence in our society.

Taxation of earnings from labor is on a par with forced labor. Some persons find this claim obviously true: taking the earnings of so many hours of labor is like taking hours from one person; and forcing the other person to work hours for another’s purpose. Why should we take agency from others in forced taxation and make them pay for others health care costs? I find it ironic that so many other people wish to be generous with other peoples' goods and wealth and give little or nothing of their own substance to others in need. We know the plan of salvation was to allow the freedom to choose while someone else wanted to take agency away and force us to do his will. This is how I look at forced charity through taxation. Edit: There is something else I wish to add. When you take goods or money from another through force and give it to another you rob that person of the blessing of giving and rob the receiver of gratitude of a gift that was freely given.

Paradise, California Wildfires Causing Severe Damage
Still_Small_Voice replied to Still_Small_Voice's topic in Current Events
I know someone who lives in Paradise, California. They have not confirmed it yet but they believe their house has been burned up. -
PARADISE, California (Associate Press) — A wildfire that moved so fast that firefighters couldn't hope to stop it quadrupled in size Friday after destroying several thousand buildings and leveling much of a Northern California town of nearly 30,000 people, authorities said. Only a day after it began, the fire near the town of Paradise had grown to nearly 110 square miles (285 square kilometers), and authorities said it had claimed lives, although they offered no specific number or any details. "There was really no firefight involved," said Capt. Scott McLean of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, explaining that crews gave up attacking the flames and instead helped people evacuate. "These firefighters were in the rescue mode all day yesterday." Read more here: https://www.ksl.com/article/46423718/northern-california-wildfire-nearly-quadruples-in-size

We will have to wait and see what the Utah Legislature passes. I think they are going to make medical marijuana available to those who need it in my opinion.
-
In my opinion it does not matter than the people voted to pass medical marijuana. The Utah legislature is going to modify the medical cannabis laws anyway. What concerns me is those that voted to expand Obamacare in Utah. This is going to require a huge tax increase and it has been a disaster in every other state where they have implemented this expansion of "free" health care. I hope the Utah legislature modifies this medicaid law heavily as well but I doubt it. Governor Herbert wanted Obamacare in Utah and tried to get it passed thru before.

Self-defense poll for US Saints
Still_Small_Voice replied to NeuroTypical's topic in General Discussion
Reacting to some of the comments in this thread. I do not like that the King James Version lists the inferior translation of God's commandment: Thou shalt not kill. It should be written as: "Thou shalt not murder." Thou shalt not kill in my mind contradicts this commandment of God written in the Book of Mormon: "And again, the Lord has said that: Ye shall defend your families even unto bloodshed. Therefore for this cause were the Nephites contending with the Lamanites, to defend themselves, and their families, and their lands, their country, and their rights, and their religion." -- Alma 43:47 One final comment from me is the following: No free man shall be debarred the use of arms.- 179 replies

Why do you vote the way you do?
Still_Small_Voice replied to prisonchaplain's topic in General Discussion
I vote for candidates that will support liberty and the Bill of Rights the most. I study out what is going on in the country a lot.- 60 replies

I am glad to see the forum changed it's name. I like it a lot more. One suggestion on the name. I would make it: Third Hour -- Forum for Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
-
So when is MormonHub going to change their name on their website? It is the counsel of the Prophet to not use this name. I never liked the label of "Mormon." My religion is to follow Christ. I never minded Latter-Day Saint as a Saint has the following definition: "some any of certain persons of exceptional holiness of life, formally recognized as such by the Christian Church." But I shall now say that I am a member of Christ's Restored Church or use the full name Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

What’s the last movie you watched?
Still_Small_Voice replied to Connie's topic in General Discussion
I just saw the movie Unbroken: Path to Redemption with two of my children. I really liked the movie and would recommend it to all Latter-Day Saints. It is the sequel to the Unbroken movie. Sadly the movie theatre was was empty when we saw it today. We were the only ones there. -
Elon Musk is a strange character but I like his cars. If I had enough money I would buy one of his Model 3 Sedan electric cars. The Model S with Ludicrous Mode is my favorite sports car now.

A very unwise decision by Nike. I am glad the shoes I recently bought were not Nike brand.

Moral support/advice needed (chastity)
Still_Small_Voice replied to AnonBYUstudent's topic in Advice Board
Just because you have the liberty to do something does not mean you should do something. With freedom comes responsibility to use that liberty in the right way. It is too bad many do not understand this principle. -
The Kissing Break - Help!!!
Still_Small_Voice replied to Squoogie's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
Squoogie if you feel that things are getting borderline too passionate you might want to get a family member or a friend who believes in Latter-Day Saint standards to hang around and chaperone you. Passionate romantic feelings between couples can get out of control pretty easy. Pray about it and get revelation on what to do and how to live the chastity standards that Christ has for all of us. -
They released the short film for streaming on the Reign of Judges, Title of Liberty movie. Presently they have raised close to 27.1 percent of the funding trying to reach the one million dollar goal to begin filming the full feature movie. I watched the ten minute short film and thought it was good.

The Colorado Civil Rights Commission is going after Christian baker Jack Phillips again, this time because he refused to bake a cake celebrating transgenderism. The Colorado Civil Rights Commission decision to go after Phillips a second time came just months after the Supreme Court ruled the commission violated its First Amendment “obligation of religious neutrality” under the free exercise clause when it punished Phillips for not baking a cake for a same-sex wedding. What are the details? On June 26, 2017 — the exact same day the Supreme Court agreed to hear Phillips’ case — a lawyer called Masterpiece Cakeshop asking for a birthday cake. The lawyer requested the cake be pink on the inside and blue on the outside, explaining it would be used to celebrate the seventh anniversary of her gender transition. Masterpiece declined to make the cake and explained it could not, in good conscience, bake a cake celebrating a transgender message. The shop offered to bake other cakes or sell the lawyer a pre-designed cake. The lawyer declined. The desire for money to do good things with it is not a bad thing in my opinion as long as the money is obtained through honest work or means. In Jacob chapter 2 verses 18 to 19 it reads: "But before ye seek for riches, seek ye for the kingdom of God. And after ye have obtained a hope in Christ ye shall obtain riches, if ye seek them; and ye will seek them for the intent to do good—to clothe the naked, and to feed the hungry, and to liberate the captive, and administer relief to the sick and the afflicted." I think this Reign of Judges, Title of Liberty movie can be used as a tool to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray about it and get your own revelation on the subject.
