You are all distracting from the purpose of this thread. Hmph.

😁
I never intend to run off, I just get sidetracked with life and forget to check in, haha.

Yes. Darin Scott is the director of The Oath movie. It is about the last Moroni who buried up the golden plates in the Earth. If this movie is successful he plans on making more movies about the Captain Moroni in the book of Alma.
At the website is the movie preview. If you like what you see show up and support it come December 8th, 2023.

Still_Small_Voice reacted to zil2 in Chased by an elephant...
I'm guessing that life-long Church members know exactly where the title of this thread comes from - at least those who grew up when Primary children were required to memorize the articles of faith:
...Or am I wrong? Was it only in my ward (generation?) that this ("chaste, benevolent" >> "chased by an elephant") was a thing, or is it somehow universal to the Church (in English-speaking areas anyway)?
Yes, Philippians 4:8 from this week's Come, Follow Me brought this happy memory back to me.

Still_Small_Voice got a reaction from LDSGator in Israel declares war
I was unaware any Christian churches at all were allowed into Saudi Arabia. It is crazy to me to think that the Restored Church of Christ is allowed into Saudi Arabia. We must not have missionaries there or if we do, they are not allowed to proselyte.

Still_Small_Voice reacted to EH12NG in Israel declares war
Hamas for whatever reason decided it would be a worthwhile venture to enter the long grass and pull a Tiger by the tail. Guess they'll have to learn the hard way. I hope Israel finds the justice it seeks.

Sadly, I think you are right. This is what happens when hate rules men's hearts.

Still_Small_Voice reacted to Emmanuel Goldstein in Israel declares war
I agree that we should give them material support, I just don't think we should be directly involved.

We do not need to be involved in this war. Israel can handle it themselves. But, I do stand for Israel.

Mirkwood, there was an Unsolved Mysteries on the Gurdon Light in Arkansas. I suggest you watch it. I am posting the video below. The video starts at 2:10 and goes until 13:10. It is interesting to me and perhaps supernatural.

I found this story amusing. Thanks for sharing it.

Still_Small_Voice reacted to estradling75 in Elder Oaks - three degrees of glory
There are lots of valid ways to look at how things will be judged in the hereafter
Here is one of mine
Outer darkness... Unclean, sinful, evil. Christ could redeem them but they do not want to be redeem... they would rather suffer. (Or Suffering is more comfortable for them then being with God.
Telesital... They were unclean, sinful, evil... But their Suffering was enough to convince them to accept Christ and become clean able to abide some light. They will no longer do evil or sinful because they do not want to suffering. But the absence of evil is not the presence of good... They are largely neutral and this is where they are the most comfortable.
Terrestrial... Good people, noble, honorable, people, but not Valiant... there is only so far that they would go/endure to do the right/good thing. (this is where they are the most comfortable.
Celestial... Those who like there Lord and Savior are willing to sacrifice and endure all things for the good of other. This is a hard sale.. It is so much easier to be at a lower level, but this is the level that God is on... and the level we need to be comfortable on if we are going to inherit all that he offers us.

“Ramaswamy also said he did a deep dive into the origins of the 120-credit hour degree and found that it was rooted largely in the number of work hours required for faculty members. He also noted the commonality of three-year college degrees in the United Kingdom and elsewhere.”
This gives me some hope.
I have 26.5 years of formal education. Worse than a marathon.
13 years to get thru grade school (had to do the 3rd grade twice)
4.5 years of undergrad (Nutrition Science / Track & Field) and 2 year mission hiatus.
2 years of business sales waiting for a med school to recognize my potential.
4 years of med school
5 years of residency
Many of those years were a total waste of time and $$.
I should have started medical practice 10 years earlier, age 26 instead of 36.
Doctors are at their peak from years 45-55. Finally have enough experience while still having mental acuity, manual dexterity, constitution, good eyesight, etc…
We must make some changes. We are wasting so many resources so that faculty can have tenure.

Still_Small_Voice got a reaction from Carborendum in DeSantis Blamed for Racially Motivated Shooting
So glad the news of the hurricane hitting Florida drowned out the calls for more citizen gun control in the State. No one in the mainstream news seems to care about the murders of black people continually in Chicago. Our mainstream news media is pretty corrupt.

A big scam going around now is the person getting a message they won the lottery. They just have to pay the tax money to have the millions of dollars in prize money released to them.
This is not how lotteries work. They take the taxes out of the prize money before they give it to you. You do not have to pay any money up front to have lottery money released to you.
One person told a story about two older ladies (around the age of 80) that paid $20,000 about to get the "millions" they won in prize money released to them. They were ripped off.

My brother's side gig is messing with scammers and posting about them on YouTube. Family and friends are always calling him to ask if something is suspect.

Ooh! Knife to the heart! @mirkwood, @Traveler, and I are never speaking to you again! (Unless our therapists insist otherwise...)
