  1. WAY TO GO BIG FOOT! I am all for internett mission! I think the problem here is just that missionaries have too litte time to write and to get aquianted to the forums they write in... and they probaly should not read much of the stuff on the forums anyway. It is very wise to have a look at the forum first. If it is an LDS forum like this many come there and read in may parts of the forums.. so the forum where it seems to be most people is a good one to post. But copy and glue many quite a bit alike threads is not really mods favorite post as NO ONE else is allowed to do that either. One has to be very careful in the non LDS forums as they ban a mormon for spaming faster than you can blink! There you need to be a bit sneeky (ask me). Internett misionaring is quite new... live and learn! This will be great... Very nice blogs btw! We need to help to advotice them... we have blogging area too... would like more in the blogg than just the link to misionary blogs! I am not sure if I dare to say that some of those blogs could be copied on LDS.nets blogs Needs more time to internett work... or one day in a week. I sit here all days and feel that I get nothign done in an hour.. sometimes not even in a day... need a kick! Elder Holland rocks! I think this will be just fantastic when we get it going! Going to post on my fb the link to the blogs! Maybe I should post it on my bloggs too... Norwegean Jesu Kristi Kirkke av Siste Dagers Hellige Finnish MORMONIT on defence in Finnish: Mormonipuolustajat oh and ofcourse the finnish part of this forum...moderated by soemones who can the language...
  2. Welcome to the forum. I hope you find answers here. It is good to hear that you can see the Church behind the bishop. Maybe the bishop is a bishop because he should learn something. If you are able to babtize so maybe your wife will be babtized after all. That would be cool. About where to ask, where to write on this forum... sometimes I ahve no clue eitehr and I been here for years, so just try. If it is on a wrong forum it will just be moved to a right one.
  3. I live close to Oslo (also Norway) and there the numbers for aborts is 50%! Most aborts are taken by young women between 20-25 propbably because the free p-pills, that a school healthsister can wite a discription for stop at 20. Many young women have taken more than one abort in a year. Health persons seem to be happy as it is used as pervantion. One thing I am sure of is, that IF aborts were taken/given as easily as they do today then when I was born... I would never have been allowed to be born! No-one asks the child! – Vi snakker mye om den gode seksualiteten - Nyheter - Oslo - Aftenposten.no
  4. IMHO If you read the Jewish perspect of BoM you can see that there are several leveles of understanding of all Israelits, Hebrew... forefathers texts. Are the sticks 2 kingdoms? Yes are they the Bible and BoM yes. Both answers are right. Are the kings israelites adn arabs... maybe... David as I understand is Jesus Christ who is of Davids family. I always tok it literally when I was a lutheran, but LDS came with a new view taht was very interesting. You need to study about the levels of scriptures. We are given the understanding of the different levels according to the knowledge we already have achieved. We get kind of revelations on the way. Sometimes I get a weird feeling that I understand something while I read... something really great... come and ask me afterwards what that was... I cant remember.... it was just a very breef thousend of a second that I understod something greater, so great I cant put it in words.... but I know I was there. Asking questions is not wrong, not understanding is not wrong... only thing wrong is to start fighting against what is taught.
  5. Hello and welcome. Enjoy the forum!

I`ll ask that is a good thing to think about. It is sad as people can not say direct about problems like this. It is possible... but also it is possible they are too tired to take all the kids with so they stay home. Thanks for a new tought.:)
  7. Hello Priceless Princess and welcome. I hope you find this forum interesting and informative and frendly. Or should I have said ifi.... interesting, frendly and informative.

yes it is with these people in west BUT NOT with the others. They can easily take a buss. They do not live that long from the Church. Fiksed a bit the question.
  9. We have quite a few african members in our Church in Norway. As you may think all of them have come to Norway as a refugee. They are beautiful and nice people. However we have a problem with them. The meetings have been translated into their own language and they have been driven to the Church by members. Now however as the driving had to be stopped, as it got impossible (no more minibuss or it broke or...) they have stopped to attend the Church. I know the society here is very white, but we do have some blacks that are very active, so it can not be anything with the skincolor to do. Any good ideas how we could make them see how important it is to attend and be a part of the Church, take callings and work in them. I am not Norwegean either, but I am not a refugee. I know what it is like to move to this country, even as a white person you meet challenges. An other problem : One ward in west had (has) some 30 African members, but they live some 70 miles from the closest Church and as they are/ were on social aid, the social aid refused to pay for the traintickets to the families to the Church on Sundays. There was a Church in the town they live in, so that had to do (not LDS).
  10. I really dont care if I meet him or not, but when helping in misionary work is affected because it happens to be my son so... THAT is irritating. It would be nice to see him, but only to say hi and shake hands. It feels so unnatural that he is closer than my oldest daughters family. Problem is that so many mothers cant let go, so no mother is to talk or see their sons. Actually I cant see what is the point of allowing the phonecall on Christmas and mothersday? As one can e-mail every week, 2 rows! Would be better if you were able to call 2 times a year, when and IF there is something important you need to talk with him about. Besides the mothers day here is completely in an other month! I did not recieve a mothersday call, as he did not get in the phone or something... It was ok. I know he is doing fine. Takes me only a night on a boat to be there to clap his hed if he needs it I also think that we, usual members, can do a lot misionarywork on the internett. Only bad thing is, that we dont get called officially and thus we dont get the respect for our work as it is not official. (I can hear, in my mind, the Finnish leaders go... ooo HER and looking at one an other with a look, that does not give much hope.) Many even think that we are doing devilswork or endangering our faith or writting wrong information or such herresy. LDS.net is considered a too suspicious place to inform about it in the meetings or to give the adress to the missionaries to hand on. LDS.org is the only adress that is beeing delt out. That is a great thing, but I think there are many, that dont ask their questions on the org, but might do that on the net. A link to net on org for discusition would be great (for each language that excists on LDS.net too). Also the languages are rising. Today our misionpersidents wife asked me if there was a forum or some internett mision thing on any African language.... I told her that not to my knowledge but I am sure that through LDS.net we can arrange one.
  11. They are a bit too alike. You can also go on the Learn about mormonisme part and just answer the questions there. A lot of nice blogss... Here too you can make a blogg on fex about teachings of Jesus or you can write your testimony in testimonies on your profile.... Some testimonials that are written here may even help you on the misionary work.
  12. I been out there for 10 years now defending and making bloggs on my language and also trying to get other to do the same ... but I am not not asighned by the Church, I wish I was it would give some creditability to my work. I have a great discusition site, but no one talks there. I been trying to get people there, as that way would those who dont know about the church also dare to ask things. But since it is unofficial (part of LDS.net) no one feels obligated and everyone has already their habbits on the internett. We have got a few babtizements through it, but most go talk on a very bad site rather than there. I wish I knew what to do to get people like it and realise that it is interesting to talk about LDS on line. I wish they could advertise to it on the official site. Put a link there of it. But it is not official...
  13. how they look at their surrounding environment; the world they live in. Yeah pretty big quetion here... maybe I manage to sctrape a bit on the surface. First a bit of my background. I was raised up by Lutheran parents. My both grandfatjhers were priests. One of them the leading professor of OT in my country. I have never had any doubt about Gods excistence and that Jesus loves me. Around 18-22 I used to search different religions; Different brances of Christianity, Buddishm, Hinduism, Taoism I was interested in Jewism too. I was turning to the Greek Orthodoxy as it is so beautiful.. all thet singing and beautiness of the inside of the church.. but I got a feeling that I should NOT choose my religion by what is outside, I needed to look deeper in me. I found nothing... I decided that there is no special religion that I should belong to so I can be a Lutheran. I was an active lutheran all the time; I was teaching kids in Sundayschool... I felt kind of hopeless and tought that ok anything is ok. Then one day the missionaries knocked on the door. It was not long after that I felt like I had come home. So how do I look at the surroundings today... I live in a country where only 1 % are LDS and my surroundiongs has a lot variety. I live beside Islamities, buddhist lives in front to the left, Lutheran probably to the right, probably atheist, sikhies, hindus around too.... how do I feel in this variety? I feel great. Only thing that sometimes troubles me is the tabu of talking about religions. Religion has become something so presonal that you are not to talk about it at all, it is everyones personal toughts. I myself would be interested in both listening about others religions and telling about mine. But today if you mention your religion you are already preaching..... NO information is allowed. I think everyone is and should find for themselves what they believe is right. Often it may even be dangerous to change religion or if not danggerous you may be left alone, pushed away from your family UNLES you follow the family tradition of religion. We all are on different level of understanding and different opinions on religion should be tolerated. One should never put down others religion or faith! We all are children of the same God and sisters and brothers.. also with Jesus and Satan. We alla re precious to our Hevenly Father, but even He knows taht we are not able to run faster than we are able to. Ofcourse the delight in Heaven is great even for ONE sole that finds a better way, but all too often we put our fingers in our ears and refuce to listen. It si sooo much easier to hold on to what we have.. the comfort of the tradition is securing in stead of following the sound of our hearts. I see the surroundings as a big chanse, chanse to learn, chanse to teach. I have also been on the internett and defending the LDS faith for some years. I find the antimovement somewhat sick and stubborn and redicilous. It is amasing how old accusitions, that have been proved wrong already long time ago stil are popping up all the time... only because the message is contempting and about somethign that a man today thinks is totally absurd and stupid. I am sad that there are people who deilberately try to harm someones elses religion. I am sad that there are people who deliberately attac the excistence of God with a lot of noice. Yet I think it is ok to believe that too. And I can n ot see the equality in the society in information. At the moment most information is given against God, then about Protestants and everythign else... mormons are not allowed to "come on to the carpet" at all. A good example: In a forum a really BIG one almost 70.000 visitors every day... everyone is allowed in teh mormon forum to tell their opinions about any question there, but if a mormon goes in an other forum his/her inputs are delated... even though they have nothing about mormonism in them. Where is the equality in my surroundings? I even have lost jobs because I am a mormon. I been carefully followed by leaders because I am a mormon. Stil I never sayed a word about my religion unless asked. Surroundings have difficulty in approving the mormons. Those terrible smiling, always happy mormons!
  14. They will be sooo glad for your return! And also about him coming with you sometimes. I hope you find a tone together about this. It can be very heavy to be alone in Church, but you will know that you are in teh right place. I hope that he likes it and comes more than often with Dont worry it will be just great!
  15. Hi Fang and welcome. Enjoy the site! Glad to have you here.
  16. I was a mainstream active believer untill I met the missionaries. That was the best day of my life! I love the apologetics.
  17. Welcome mafia! My sons always went to church in the dresses lifting up their collar and sunglasses and the younger wore a hat. The memory makes me smile. Enjoy the site. And my sons have called me noob a few times....hmmmm...

    Hi

Welcome Jinafer, enjoy! You are 4 years older than me .. in church...
  19. I think there has to be a difference later with those, who have sinned less and those who have sinned more. Even though our sinns will be cleaned and God will not remember them any more, we still did them. I think it would not be rigious if those that did very little wrong would "enherit" the same as those that sinned more. This "enheriting" I believe is more spiritual kind. Sinn always slows us down. We are not able to understand or obtein information, we are not ready to, and sinn makes holes we need to have time to fix. This gives those who do not sin a good leep foran! So even if we can repend and will be forgiven it WILL cause us to be slower and it will take more time for us to get "there". Graver the sinns more time it needs. IMHO.
  20. Welcome shadewalker I hope you enjoy the forum. I agree with it that life is full of suprises that we have to live with. I heard that in sepecial winds the coastsand of Alaska is full of gold.... For better and worse has turned to only for better these days.... Sorry to hear about you troubles. There are soo much soo better straw berries on the other side of the fence.... and this is told us by TV, Radio, Magazines all the time... to take a devorce is sooo easy, but to stay together is sooo difficult and besides HOW can you stay with someone who...... The press for devorce in any case is enorm. If only everybody could in theri toughts go back to the first days....
  21. That is fantastic. My son is now in Danmark on a mission. I so wished I could have gone on a mission when I was your age... but then I did not know much of the LDS church... only that they were plurallymarried... hahhaha. I am sure you will still meet people who may think that... or they say that they dont tell you everything! Hah! I am sure it will be fantastic even though sometimes challenging! You may meet people, who want to shake your faith. Just to let you know I been met with all anti accusitions possible and when I have studied them I have found out that they either 1. Dont know the truth. 2. Lie in order to decieve. They leave out certain parts of the whole in order to make their point. Only the spirit will be able to tell you what to do, trust it. Enjoy your journey!
  22. Interesting discusition, something I often think and answer the anties attacs about it. There is far too many referances (in the scriptures especially the Bible) to a man becoming a god and enheriting the Father together with Jesus, in more than one ways. Yet I am careful to emphazise the spekulative carracter of my or anyone elses toughts that go over what is written in the scriptures and to keep an open mind about this and NOT to clonclude anything final! Like captain said this really has nothing to do with our salvation so what ever who ever thinks is not important. Stil I like many others like to speculate. It is also nice to be a step ahead in knowing what thsi all is about... we may be right we may be wrong. There has been soem really interesting points here. I myself dont really go for Adam-God thing. Adam would become God later, like any of us, but I think God was somewhere else attending his business and giving advice to Jesus the Lord. He was a "son of God" like any of us and beeing the first he was thus considered someone beeing closest to be a God. When I think of myself and my DH.. I am afraid we will need the whole eternity to be able to progress to beeing god, but I am sure we will be kept busy on other things, helping those who are higher in understanding and more ready. I am also interested in the Womans role in the God! I believe the God is a union of two and all too often it is understod as mere men. One reason why this is so is the linguisticle problem of the word man/men meaning a man or a human beeing. The "patriarchal" world all too often forget that it dont always need to mean a man but a human= man or woman. At the moment I seem to be on the stadium where it really dont matter how it is, but I stil think that we will proceed step by step in becoming alike our Heavenly parents, but we can never go past them. A try to pass them will also mean that we rebell and stop beeing gods. I believe it is so with my olderbrother Jesus too, we will never pass Him either. We are also expected to progress to be like our Hevenly parents. It will take a looooong time before any of uss are able to create worlds... there is just so much to learn yet. An interesting thing is also those who can not proceed to goodhead. When I was listening to Bacyard professors quantum theory on his YouTube channel I got an idea ... what about id those who are to be in the darkness for all eternity... there is dark and light materia in the universe. The good attarcts the light particles adn bad the black ones. I just got an idea that maybe the hell is that you are in a way dissolved adn sent back in the darkness of the university... It si good to remember that this thread is highly speculative even though it is basing on the scriptures.

By the way I am getting irritated as those posting their blogs 10-20 selling something... right when I am in the gym... usually, NOT always.... you see SOMETIMES I am home at that time and I ban and delate with all my heart... they could wait for 2 hours so I can bann and delate them right when they post! ps my English is not perfect so ... be good ...or I can read somethign wrong! We mods need to ban at least one in a month to please Pam I done my share this month so you are safe a few weeks now! :)
