Guest missingsomething Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 You know there has been a lot of talk lately about fat people - which even the word "fat" feels offensive to me.... but..... I would rather be fat than ugly Cuz I can always loose fat...but I can never get over ugly. Lighten up everyone! And oh... yea.... I dont mean weight! No pun intended! And yes... Im gonna laugh at myself here. Quote
Churchmouse Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 That reminds me of a story about Winston Churchill. He was at a party and had had a little to much to drink and became a bit loud and rude. One of the female guests told him, "Sir,you are drunk" to which Churchill replied, "Yes I am madam and you are ugly, but tomorrow I'll be sober". Quote
Madriglace Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 Fluffy is good .... I'd rather be fat than ignorant. Ignorant people and their ignorant comments really tick me off. I am fat and most skinnies can't keep up with my schedule. Of course ugly depends on the beholder. Look up Susan Boyle if you haven't heqard about her already. This lady is rather plain ... until she opens her mouth. She has the voice of an angel. She sang on Britain's Got Talent and it was the first time ever that I have seen that nasty Simon Cowel actually smile a genuine smile. We all have our problems .. some more than others ... but we're all children of God. Quote

Guest Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" Islander Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 I have gained over 1.5 lbs for every year I have been in the US to a total of 34 over my historic 180 lbs. My doctor is not concerned as of yet given that my blood pressure is still 120/75. He figures I am doing quite well, he said: "considering that your people can survive on crab legs, a tomato and mango juice for desert, you are doing much better than the rest." I told him, "hey, I am a Mormon now so I carry my food storage with me. It saves space at the house." Quote

Soul_Searcher Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 leave the skinnys out of this please.I hate the word 'skinny' as much as some of us hate the word 'fat'. It was always used in a derogotory way to me. 'You're so SKINNY!' followed by a curl of the lip. I prefer 'slim' or thin. I work really hard at my body to look toned and feel healthy. Some people get nasty at being thin too!!!!! (Amazingly pathetic and sad, but unfortunately true) Quote
mightynancy Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 I refer to myself as "flabulous"...not slender anymore (maybe again, though!), but still cute as a button! In all humility, of course. Quote

We all have our problems .. some more than others ... but we're all children of God.I've watched it a few times and to be honest I don't think his smile was genuine. He just had to smile because that's the way it was set up. Not taking anything away from Susan because I think she's excellent, but i'm fairly sure it was set up. Come on.... they just had to know she could sing... after all, it is television! Quote
