I got the Crane & Co for me.  The cheapo paper is for my sons' schoolwork.  I got them each their own Al-star so they'll leave mine alone.  They're call them their "missionary pens" - they plan to take care of them so that they can take the pens with them on their mission!  My youngest is only 14 and has a ways to go before then... so let's see if he can really hang on to his pen.  The 16 year old I'm fairly certain will still have his pen by then - he brings his pen like his phone and wallet... never goes anywhere without it.

Those "Wired" notebooks come in various formats - your kids would probably like those for school.

Are those demonic MLPs dragging that poor boy down to Fountain Pen Hell?

Oh not at all!  They were trying to push him out of Ballpoint Hell but he was just too cute that they ended up fawning over him before they succeeded in getting him out.  NT was getting mad because he had to push Mirk out from underneath and he's such a fountain pen fan now that he can't stand for Mirk to be down there for even one second... I know this for a fact because I took the picture.

I have a Levenger L-Tech 3.0 Stealth that I like because it fits well in my uniform and has a screw top.  The problem is it NEVER writes.  I have to scribble for 5 minutes or wet the nib repeatedly to get ink to come out. Even then it leaves "blank" spots when writing.   Is there a fix for this?  Should I look for a larger nib or something?

Problem solved- Pilot vanishing point fountain pen.  It is a click pen nib stays wet, comes in a variety of nib sizes.

Wow, you might have a real problem.....

But one is black and silver (like yours) with the stub nib, one is the stormtrooper (fine nib), and one is like the stormtrooper, but with blue in place of the white (also fine nib).  I don't use the stub much, but the blue/black is my always-inked pen (same ink).  (So it's not as bad as if I had three of the exact same thing - that would just be disturbing. :itwasntme: )

Pilot Vanishing Point (larger, heavier, $8 more) and Pilot Decimo (thinner, lighter).  There's also the Lamy Dialog 3, and a Visconti Pininfarina Iridium - but they twist to get the nib out rather than click.

Erm, we need a writing sample now. :D

We're still waiting for your writing sample.  The nib (that silver thing) should be pointed up, away from the paper.... :P

Is this a police thing? How often do they have to submit samples to stay on the force?

I have not taken a call yet that would allow for the use of that particular pen.

Keep in mind that this is written while balanced on a tilted laptop at an angle to my right.

Wow.  Such strong, aggressive, no-nonesense hand-writing.  It's what we need in police officers.  :)

And now you won't have cramped fingers.  We need those fingers fresh and steady for trigger discipline.  :)

Less pressure - the ink shouldn't feather like that (e.g. the downstroke of the P in pen). :)
