Kind of surprised to hear of another temple in Washington State. Are there that many members there?

In Vancouver and the Vancouver area, I think there are a lot of Saints in that area if I recall correctly.

I'm happy to hear of another temple in Alaska and also Maui will now have one of their own.

With Vancouver, British Colombia and Vancouver, Washington, will this make the first set of temples in different cities with the same name?

Six new temples in South America and four in Africa.  I believe many are being baptized and the LORD's church is growing a lot in these places.  Humble people willing to listen to the LORD. 

My son said within the last few months, the whole Nashville, Tennessee mission had about 96 baptisms in one month.

Technically the Vancouver, BC temple is actually in Langley (yes, I've been there--on public tour)

Vancouver, WA kind of covers Oregon too, since it's just north of Portland.

I think the biggest one of these announcements is Mongolia. 

There's open hostility towards the church in China and Russia, so for a temple to be in Mongolia is proof that the hostility isn't working.

Portland does have a temple.  It may be to take some of the pressure off of it.
