I haven't seen them, because of the same reason I didn't see Nim's Island. I see my colossal error in that and will now(!!!!!) rent both movies :)
-
This movie never interested me so I'm finally watching it today with my daughter. Maybe it's because my daughter is almost the same age as Nim, maybe I'm just in a weird mood, but I found myself teary in a few places so far. Right now Alex is on the plane. I love this movie! I would hope if my daughter was in trouble like that (i.e. parent not able to help) she would be cared for. So, any good movies out there that I might have missed? Sorry if this has been done, i tried to use the search function but nothing showed up Mods, could you move this to the movie forum please? I thought that forum was only for lds movies, sorry!

Glow or not, he really needs to have a good talk with his bishop about past transgressions.

Yeah I said 'eeewwww'. I stand by my post. I defy you to find any 9 year old girl who thinks sex isn't 'eeewww'.

Me too! I close my eyes, but it's because I worked the night before. I find that I have only enough energy to keep my eyes open or enough energy to pay attention with eyes closed. But I really do know what's going on, I promise!

Separations can be good things. The danger for him is the longer he's away the more you're gonna see how much calmer and peaceful life is without him lol. It doesn't matter how much you love him, life is almost always easier when you're the one making the decisions about the kids and money. Enjoy the next little while, maybe get a haircut or dye your hair really bright red. That's what I did You have many many years ahead of you. Take a long bath when the kids are in school. Maybe look into going to school if you don't have a degree. Talk to your visiting teachers, home teachers, and bishop. The point is, stay busy while your husband is off on his little finding himself kick. You are an equal partner in this marriage, and he needs to know that once he leaves you don't have to take him back. I'm not advocating divorce, far from it. What I'm advocating is taking your part of this marriage and doing your best. This way you can look straight into your husband's and children's eyes and tell them you did your best and have nothing to be sorry about.

That bolded by me line is awesome. I love it. Yes, God is not some Zeus out to have a good time. He's not even some Odin out to create the class structure of the mortals. He is God the Eternal Father, and He is way smarter than all of us. I can understand the eewwwness of the concept of God and Mary having 'relations' without marriage. It gave me a lot of problems when I was young. However, I have to point out there are a lot of things commanded in the Biblical times we are not commanded to do now...like slaughtering gentiles, stoning adulterers, and polygamy. Would they be sins now? Yes, of course. Were they sins then? No, because it was commanded. I don't think (of course I just don't know) God and Mary had a physical relationship. I like your idea of surrogacy, to a point. I believe Mary is the mortal mother (DNA and all that) of Jesus because of God's supremacy. Two words: petri dish.

lol I knew that. My home teachers are just so gentlemanly they make it seem like it's for my benefit.

They can go to Wal-Mart. In my town that is a social event
-
Can they go swimming if it's a ward event? I know they can't on their own.... My home teachers also hold to the rule of 2 priesthood holders when visiting my single self. They're in their 80s, total rocks of righteousness so I know I'd be safe even if they were alone, but there is a huge level of respect for womanhood that shows when they follow that rule. Best thing about missionaries? They are always wearing 'church clothes' when out in public. I see them in Wal-Mart on Wednesdays wearing suits and dresses and it just looks so cool.

I would hope that anyone wearing a bikini would have a clean-shaven chin....and a nice white shirt Sin is in the mind of the wearer sometimes. What is the motivation for wearing a bikini? A tankini? A one-piece? I cannot think someone could swim in the ocean or go surfing with any great degree of confidence wearing a bikini. But then again the women's beach volleyball association thinks the players can play hardcore volleyball in them so maybe I'm totally wrong.

My family jumped ship and went to Facebook so I have to have an account there Am I the only person in the world that likes Myspace over Facebook? Myspace has an application called 'green spot', where you can make your own garden, it's a lot of fun. I'll look up the quiz, it sounds like fun. I got challenged to take an IQ test the other day. Then I got kidnapped. Maybe I'll just go back to my nice garden with all the koala bears....

My fiance has the most amazing smile. He also has hair that goes almost to his belt. I love braiding it lol. -
Awww Debs, I'm sorry. Come to my ward and you'll see what it feels like to be in a good one. I'm divorced as well and I've never been made to feel an outcast. I have great VTs and home teachers who I'm absolutely positive can move mountains using faith alone. So come on out! Or if you can't, all I can say is be the type of person you wish everyone else was

I have to throw in on this discussion. The women of my particular genetic makeup have longer torsos than most found in stores, so tankinis have been a lifesaver for us. I pick out only those with high necks and low (boy-shorts) bottoms for my daughter and I. Seriously, in the days before tankinis I was either flashing people from the top or from the bottom, so was constantly wearing tshirts. Bikinis, no way. And don't get me started on the bottomless bottoms.

I think the past eons of society have really done a disservice to women. God Himself said women are to be co-creators with Him in bringing forth children. How can it get much cooler than that? One of the tools of the adversary is to take something good and make it bad or insignificant. The debate of priesthood vs. women's rights is merely a way of pitting two good things unnaturally against each other.

We can do a lot of good in the world. I have trouble not verbally smacking rude people so it's helping me be more patient and kind, as well as maybe helping someone come a little closer to the iron rod. Them coming closer..not me hitting them with it....that's the key- 1 reply

Speaking as an occasional tourist, I can't even describe how happy I am when i see a McDonalds. It's like the world makes sense again! I don't go there.....I'm just happy to see it

Do you know what it feels like to have a tiger's blood frazil go through your nose? It's not a very nice feeling. I'm a cat person, but I want an English Mastiff.
