Repentence process for missionary with call.
Roseslipper replied to Phillip11's topic in Advice Board
you will be teaching people about repentance .... I beleive u should talk to your bishop and if your mission is delayed, dont be embrassed about it...Just take the time to do what u need to do....and when u go u will feel much better and be proud of yourself..and be a better missionary too.- 11 replies

You will always have the temptation to smoke I guess. But why go back to it?? The Lord doesn't want us to smoke and now many yrs later we know that medical science has proven that it is soooo bad for our health and for others who are around us. And it smells alful, it's in your clothes, your hair, your body If your husband was doing something to harm his health, would't you be disappointed or hurt you'd want him to try to stay healthy because you love him and he wants this for you as well. Don't give up on yourself and don't give up on your family. We all have struggles of some sort or another. Think about what made you go back to smoking after a yr away from it? It might help!! Pray to the Lord for help with this addiction or anything alse He's their to help us!!!! Make this New Year the best one yet!!!! Happy 2014!!! p.s. u can win the race!!

Yes I can see that it would be hard if your husband is a minister. But he is a interfaith minister. Have you talked to him about it? I'm sure he is opened minded, maybe when you have the missionaries over your husband would be willing to listen and interact with the missionary's and learn, you never know. My first Lds Bishop was a baptist preacher...then he joined the Lds Church. And your friends just might come along in time as well. Have faith!!! Seek Ye the kingdom of God first and all things will follow. etc. As far as those little pony's their cute..I didn't have any children so I'm not so up on these kind of things lol :)

hi iamnoaccident.....of course your not an accident..u should come to my ward we have such a diversfied ward with many different cultures and backgrounds and you'd fit right in. Some people might look at you strange at first, don't take it personable. You might be in a ward that's not use to different life styles. So it's your job to teach them that your a child of God as well!! The gospel is true and you are needed and welcomed and as soon as they get to know you and love you they won't see the difference's any longer. Why is your family and friends so against which church you want to belong too? Are you 18 or older? We all have the freedom to choose for our self's. Oh yeah what's a bronie?

hi and welcome Like most said don't be so hard on your hubby for drinking the coffee, and he did tell you about it, he didn't have too. We all sin to a degree or two, that's why we have the Atonement! Heavenly father knew we would. That's why he sent his only begotten son for us, to atone for our sins. Some sins do not need to be confessed to the Bishop, but we need to have our own prayers of forgiveness to our Lord. Don't sweat the small stuff. And even if there's big stuff it can all be taken care of. Thank goodness. Just love and serve and build upon the rock of salvation we all need to do this.

Hello Kstevens, I'm so sorry that your sister has such bad feelings about the church. I am a convert too. It is a very hard thing when you have family that can not go to the Temple Wedding, they don't understand. But it's great that you had a ring ceremony. It's best to explain to them the purpose of a temple, sealings and how it its scared and why only certain people can come in not all members can go in. I tell people nothing goes on there that's not in the scriptures. And Heavenly Father teaches us a little at a time. It's too much to handle all at once. Just like children learn. etc. When there is an open house you can ask your non member family if they would like to go. Or maybe you can have a FHE setting with them and discuss the gospel. It might soften their hearts. And of course you can pray for them, and love them and serve them as Christ would. Do u live far from them? Maybe you can ask your sister if she will help you with the surprise party...get her more involved in your lives... Have a blessed New Year!

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!!

Im sorry about your dog...I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. I lost my baby(pet) had her for 19 1/2 yrs. I loved her with all my heart and soul. she was everything to me. One of my roommates at byu gave her to me for my birthday present and in my head i said what am I going to do with a dog out here. Went home and never been back and that dog was the best gift I ever received I still have not gotten another dog. IT'S about 13 yrs now. So i say dog, or people loved them while u have them, know that you will reunite with them some day...which is a great thing...even thou it hurts. And forget the whiskey it will not make you feel better!!! Probably make u feel worse....
