Dr T, You would have been a good BB coach. The Lakers might do better with your input. I coached high school BB in Arizona and that was fun, but I would have liked to have had a good assistant like you. Gar

It will be a hard fought game, but let's have faith that the Lakers will play their best D and O and win this game!!.

I don't know. Could be that Dr.T knows. Sorry

There isn’t any doubt that the Lakers are a great team. When I lived in Vegas, I supported the Lakers, but that was a long time ago. I remember that I liked the Celtics as well, because of the greats they had on their team. Times can change a team profile, however, and one player may dominate the team more than another may, but one thing always remains the same. It is always a team effort, once they can play together well as a team, things usually gel and the truly great:fireball: players will inspire the rest of the team onto the greatness that they know is possible. It is, however, always inspiring:) for me as a spectator to see a great player as Kobe is play out his heart and not only inspire his teammates, but those that watch him as well.

Hopefully, he will be able to play tomorrow night. If the doctor says rest, however, he should for his own sake. Gar

I've been sick, in bed most of the day, and didn't get a chance to watch it. It may not have been available through my ESPN, which is all I can use for now. Later, after my budget gets tighter, I will depend solely upon you for my Laker news. Thanks for your support of the Lakers. Gar

It was an exciting game to watch tonight. I had to leave 40 seconds before the finish and pick up a person who needed a ride and didn't get the final score, but they should have won. Too bad for Howard's untimely fouls. Anyway, I was very impressed with the Kobe Bryant played tonight. He is the heart and soul of the team. Watching the Lakers play made having a bad cold more tolerable. If they lost, they lost with dignity, if one good definition coming from the Lakers could be given them. I thought that they were a much better team than the Clippers.

I hope that the Lakers win Friday night.

I will be looking forward to reading your posts. Gar

You stay right on top of the Lakers' play and that is great! I have a hard time staying on top of most sports outside of BYU, but when I read your posts I feel as if I'm back into the game. Thanks, Gar

Joseph Smith and Priesthood for women.

Dear AW, I know that your understanding of God is well founded on the principle of faith and that you have strong faith in His wisdom and foresight for the business of this earth. There have been many times when I have questioned the wisdom of God until I learned that He alone knows all things and that His ways are sometimes unknown to us. Rest assured, however, they will not always be unknown and mysterious, but as we test our faith and become more confident in His ways, we will gain a better understanding of His ways. -
I once worked in a university library and we always had students who did that and the rule was to ask them to be quiet. It would, however, bother me, especially if I were fishing, and I might say that the fish can hear those sounds. With my quick sense of humor, however, I would probably end-up laughing at the obnoxious sounds.

Some kind of people can appear to hard hearted or when they are simply ignorant of another's feelings. Some have not understood what it means to have a soft heart or to have their heart softened by God. Those who repent of their errors immediately after a mistake can either be doing that for their own selfish reasons (to turn a bad situation to their gain) or because they truly want to be right before God. Makes sense to me. Eh?

Turkey Poem When I was a young turkey, new to the coop, My big brother Mike took me out on the stoop, Then he sat me down, and he spoke real slow, And he told me there was something that I had to know; His look and his tone I will always remember, When he told me of the horrors of..... Black November. "Come about August, now listen to me, Each day you'll get six meals instead of just three, "And soon you'll be thick, where once you were thin, And you'll grow a big rubbery thing under your chin; "And then one morning, when you're warm in your bed, In will burst the farmer's wife, and hack off your head; "Then she'll pluck out all your feathers so you're bald 'n pink, And scoop out all your insides and leave ya lying in the sink; Well, the rest of his words were too grim to repeat, I sat on the stoop like a winged piece of meat, And decided on the spot that to avoid being cooked, I'd have to lay low and remain overlooked; I began a new diet of nuts and granola, High-roughage salads, juice and diet cola; And as they ate pastries, chocolates and crepes, I stayed in my room doing Jane Fonda tapes; I maintained my weight of two pounds and a half, And tried not to notice when the bigger birds laughed; But 'twas I who was laughing, under my breath, As they chomped and they chewed, ever closer to death; And sure enough when Black November rolled around, I was the last turkey left in the entire compound. So now I'm a pet in the farmer's wife's lap; I haven't a worry, so I eat and I nap; She held me today, while sewing and humming, And smiled at me and said: "Christmas is a coming'."

(A True Story) During a sacrament meeting, a little boy made a big disturbance. After several minutes of trying to quiet this noisy 3 year-old, the mother desperately handed him to the father, who was seated on the aisle close to the front of the chapel. By this time the noise distracted the speaker and audience, and everyone was very conscious of the parents' plight. The father's patience was much shorter than the mother's. In a few moments he put the little boy over his shoulder, stood up, and started for the back door. Looking back over his father's shoulder and sensing his determined steps, the little boy became quiet and apprehensive. Just as the father approached the rear door of the chapel, the little fellow reached his arms out toward the stand and shouted, "Bishop, help!" This was originally spoken by Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Quorum of Twelve Apostles during General Conference on 4/5/97

Complete repentance will cleanse the inner vessel of the soul and that cleansing power of the Atonement is a wonderful feeling that comes from God. It sometimes can give persons added strength to continue to face and overcome any type of transgression. There is, however, more to repentance as one must understand and overcome the cause of his/her tendency to error and then in due time the strength to overcome that weakness will become an added strength. It is through the enabling power of the Atonement that we can overcome all transgressions.

Struggling.... thinking about throwing in the towel
Gargantuan replied to motogirlAZ's topic in General Discussion
You are heading in the right direction. Satan wants you to think that you can't continue your change and that it is impossible to do. I know what you are experiencing, and it is a lonely and sometimes frustrating road. You probably already read the scriptures on a daily basis, and you have learned how helpful that practice can be. This is merely a suggestion, that you keep reading them and apply the scriptures to yourself. It helps to make notes about how a scripture may apply to how you feel or how it answers some of your frustrations. As you read of a particular scripture that touches your heart, the Holy Ghost will aide and comfort you. God is always aware of your thoughts and His Spirit will inspire you as you read. May I suggest that you say a sincere prayer before each scripture session that your mind will be able to focus on the message God wants you to have and it will become easier for you to run to tomorrow. Blessings, Gar -

Stretching the back muscles in the morning and deep breathing will allow the entire body to feel in sync as you walk. This is what I have tried and it helps my old baggy torso. Gar

Did Adam and Eve have a belly button?
Gargantuan replied to C_T_R's topic in Christian Beliefs Board
Genetically, their physical body was organized, but we don't know yet what that exact process was or from whom they received their genetics. We do know, however, that for God nothing is impossible. -
Not sure if I should serve a full time mission
Gargantuan replied to sackings024's topic in Advice Board
Another option that you may consider as you counsel with your Bishop is to pray about serving a church service mission. There are multiple opportunities available for you to do that. These missions are wonderful opportunities to be a great influence in someone's life. After you have prayerfully fasted and counseled with those who have priesthood authority over you, the Will of your Father in Heaven for you will become clear. Blessings, Gar
