I realize I'm a simple country boy and thank you LM and several others for doing a great job at trying to answer the original post, as confusing as it was, and as I've mentioned before I am not a Bible scholar but I do believe it mentions Adam and Eve......not Adam and Steve. For those who have the "if it makes you feel good, do it" mentality I would not like to be there when you are explaning that to Heavenly Father like LM said. Just my 50 cents. Love to all!

Vista? This is the ONLY way to fly ya'll. That's right..TOP of the line Tandy TRS80. Color screen (both black and white) Hard code man, that's the real stuff. Young kids these days just don't know how cool it was to learn how things work. You HAD to back then. Kinda miss it.

Refusing to not forgive a person is like....you taking poison, and waiting for the other person to die. It may be the hardest thing you have or will ever do, but you must forgive. You don't have to forget, but you must forgive. If you do not forgive this man, Heavenly Father will not forgive you. Do you remember the prayer we learned as small children? Our Father, who art in Heaven...yes, that one. Think about the words that say "please forgive me of my tresspasses, as I forgive those who treepass against me". Don't you understand what that is saying? Every time you have prayed that prayer you have been asking Heavenly Father to forgive you just like you forgive others. If you do NOT forgive them I guess you are basically asking Heavenly Father to NOT forgive you. It is not an option. Well, not if you plan to be in a better place when your day comes to leave Earth. It's up to you. Allow this cancer to ruin what time you have left on this Earth and then be in a terrible place when your time is up...or, forgive him. If you can't do this on your own and need strength to do it, ask, and you will recieve.

Why do so many other faiths seem to dislike LDS?
MichaelCraig replied to Mute's topic in General Discussion
You mean LDS people really don't sacrifice goats every 3rd Sat of the month in the temples? MAN! Guess I'll retract my request for that temple recommend then. What a let down! -

My son got his temple recommend over a year ago and has been inside the Atl temple and one in...I believe it was Provo, maybe it was SLC when he went to MTC. Thanks for doing your best to explain. I guess I'm just a dumb country boy cause the next question would be how would the bishops or stake presidents know for sure a LDS member was keeping the covenants, but I really think I need to just let this go and just know that this is a rule and that I am not to understand this one and move on. The LDS leaders who made the rule long ago had their reasons and that's all I need to know. Thanks again. -

Thanks gomspal. Please forgive me but I'm just a simple minded Ga boy and still don't really understand. The Baptismal covenants, are they that much different than ones made when a person is Baptized say at a Baptist church? And the "God's representatives", who are they? Please don't take my questions as being disrespectful or in any way trying to rebuke or anything like that. I am truly just tryng to understand the real reason and I guess it will take someone breaking it down in simple terms so I can get it. In my simple mind I just don't understand why any church or temple would actually turn a person around who honestly and truthfully were there to worship or to respectfully witness a very important ceremony especially that a loved one like a son or daughter is having like Baptism or being married. I attended my son being Baptized at our local stake and it was awesome. I realize the temples are the supreme sacred places but I still don't understand what would be the harm in allowing non-LDS bloodkin to observe huge spiritual events in our family members life. Sorry for being so simple minded but that's just me. -

MichaelCraig replied to danceinthedark's topic in General Discussion
Why is it that non-members can't go into a temple to support a family member who is LDS on very special ceremonies like being married, etc? And if the answer is the being worthy or righteous issue how can one person say another is not worthy or righteous just because they are not LDS? -
But....what about the things that the Bible says takes place before the end like the 1,000 yr reign and all the other events???? Has all of those things taken place yet? My only issue about all this 2012 stuff and the many other "end of the world" predictions that never came true is the words I heard long ago that says, no man will know the exact time, not even the Son. Only the Father. Either way, I do know one thing for sure....that it is my personal responsibility to be ready RIGHT NOW, and I am. :)

Do Mormons celebrate Ash Wednesday?
MichaelCraig replied to MichaelCraig's topic in General Discussion
Thank you everyone. Not exactly sure if my question was explained or answered in a way that my simple mind can grasp but as far as I understand the answer is, NO, LDS folks do not observe Ash Wednesday traditonally and it is not a service held in the local stake on Ash Weds. Or do I have that all wrong???? Ya'll bare with me, I'm from south Ga you know. -
Just wondered...... :)

I was born and still live in the Bible belt. We have a gob of Baptist in Ga and I've never understood the rule about not being able to dance. ????? Some of the bigger Baptist churches have awesome praise bands and a person can't jump up when the Holy Spirit overflows us and dance??? What kind of crazy doctrine is that from? I mean, as long as I keep my clothes on, what's wrong with dancing? I totally agree it's disrespectful to do some of the type dancing I've seen on tv. It straight out raunchy and nasty but just swinigng to the beat of Motown or some good jazz, I mean come on!!!

My first born son. My pride and joy is about half way through with his two year mission on the south pacific island of Fiji. Fiji is 7 thousand miles from here, (south Ga). It might as well be mars. I lost it at first then I went to Heavenly Father in prayer. As hard at it is to imagine or grasp I now understand and know that Heavenly Father loves my son even more than I do. It is His promise to never ever leave him. That reality really made me feel so much better and gave me a peace about the seperation. I started to pray more and feel we are closer spiritually now than we were when he was home and it gets better every day. Like the others mentioned, stay in her life the best you can and above all shower her with love every time you get a chance to talk to her and even when you can't. Maybe send "care packages" from home like I do. My son loves them so much. Only problem I have that you will NOT have is a package can take a month or longer to get to him. Some have not made it at all. They say Fiji customs opens every package and if they like what they see, oh well, it's thiers and there is nothing any one can do. It's not America. His fav which is a double batch of homemade cookies seem to get thru ok. It's the simple things from home that my son seems to enjoy most. The only other advice I can give is pray, pray, pray and when you're done, pray some more. It makes a huge difference in my life. I believe in prayer more now than I ever did. It works. :)

My wife has four. The smartest of the four is her 16 yr old African Grey named Dillon. He has cognative thinking about the age of a 3 yr old human. He communicates but not in complete sentences. He scares me sometimes with the things he says but more so how he says it and the timing. I'm laying on the floor watching tv and I get this feeling someone is watching me. I turn around and Dillon is standing on the bottom of his cage right up next to the side closest to me about 2 feet from my head. He waits till he see's I've turned around and then just like a human says in perfect English.."come here!"... just staring at me, not moving an inch. I reply..."ah, what do you want?"... and then it hits me..WAIT A MINUTE!!!! I'M HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH A BIRD!!! AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!. Crazy bird. Then there is Toby, a Westie who owns the house and who's bark breaks glass. We just pay the bills and make sure he has food and water and are there to take him out no less than 50 times a day (if he had his way). And then there's Gizmo a domestic orange cat who's main purpose in life is to eat and sleep. He wouldn't chase or eat a mouse if you served it on a silver platter. Aaaand that leaves me. Her most aggrevating pet. Doing all I can to get just an itzy bitzy bit of affection and attention in between the full time loving she SHOWERS the other three with but...there's no hope. NONE! I'm there just to fix things and take out the trash BUT to do it quietly and without being asked and to NEVER get anything in return, no dog chew, no kitty treats, no brand new perch bought off the net for big bucks to go in my cage. Nothing. Ever!!! Maybe I should move this post to another discussion board, huh Pam?

Well now that's good. You've gotten your focus a little better which means a WHOLE lot on remumes'. My wife had a problem with all of her degrees when she was applying for a particular job she had wanted a good while. They kept saying she was "too" qualified which is a lame excuse but once she explained the rules of how they hire I began to understand. Once she tamed her resume down and put more focus on the skills she was very good at that applied to that specific job she finally got it. She took a pretty good pay cut to get it but she has her foot in the door and as far as that management thing goes, that is exactly why she took the pay cut. It's way too much of a headache for the difference in pay you get. A high priced babysitter is basically what you are as a manager. Now she's back up to the pay she was at and although they have tried several times she is NOT a manager. Go get your hands dirty my brother!!! Good luck and God bless.

Please forgive me if you've already mentioned this and I missed it but if I had a break in employment I would go as soon as possible and file for unemployment and that would bring in at least some $$ while you were beating the bushes for a new job. A buddy of mine just got laid off after 15 yrs and he filed right away. It has kept him afloat and allowed him to keep the landlord off of his back while he searches for another. It's already been a few months and he is having a hard time also being about the same age maybe a little older than you but you got to keep praying and moving. Every one gets knocked down from time to time. Just don't let it keep you down, get up and out knocking on every door possible maybe even doing like you mentioned, going back to turning the wrenches at a lower salary. Having good mechanic skills is a very much needed thing as long as there are cars on the road and I do believe that will be for a while. God bless!

2 feet huh? I am SO glad I live in the deep south. I'm only 3 1/2 ft tall and I'd be in serious trouble, maybe need a snorkle in snow that deep. I know there are fellow little people in that region. I wonder how they deal with it. :|

I'm just glad The Who didn't have a "wardrobe malfunction" while they were playing....although I THINK when Pete did one of his high jumps, (which aren't so high anymore seeing that he's about 80 yrs old now), I saw the top of what appeared to be a pair of Depends sticking out from his beltline. EEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!! :0

Mathematical proof that Girls are Evil!
MichaelCraig replied to Jamie123's topic in General Discussion
Pam, you are most correct. Women are not evil. Women were originaly made from a rib of a man so can anyone say women are evil without saying men are too? I am a sinner. No doubt about that but I do not believe I am evil. I do not mean any disrespect in any way to anyone when I say this but I truly believe that Heavenly Father created the most beautiful most awesome creature on Earth when He made woman. Woman is THE perfect example of art in it's highest form and that's just the outside. When you consider the inner workings just with the reproduction system alone it is totally mind boggling to me. If there is no other proof that Heaveny Father exists and that He dearly loves man there is what I believe to be His greatest work, woman. :) -
Mathematical proof that Girls are Evil!
MichaelCraig replied to Jamie123's topic in General Discussion
The world would know by now if anyone had actually truly figured out how women think. It's really quite simple, as soon as man has the ability to know what a woman wants, not just at this exact second but tomorrow too, the mystery will be solved. If for some reason man never learns how to do this...HE'S GOT A PROBLEM!!! -
Hmmmm....you got me thinking and sometimes that can be dangerous. Why are they called "HYMms"?? Why not HERms, or Oursms, or ThePeoplesms??? Sexism. Before long it will come to if we should call Heavenly Father-Heavenly Father? Maybe it should be Heavenly Person or Heavenly Body... Hmm. Sexism. Something tells me maybe I shouldn't have been thinking when I'm not used to it. :0

I would rather see the John Doe version, driver side leg. I like that. :) Havejoy, would you by chance be originally from the state of Ga or another southern state? We make up all kinds of cool sayings like that. I'm not making fun of you, I'm really not. I LOVE it when I hear folks say stuff different, out of the box kind of sayings and we have a lot of those down here in Ga, Tn..Alabama. I had a girlfriend back in the day that I could sit and just listen to her talk for hours at the time and just LOVED IT! The words she would say like the stuff on the top of our head, hair, she pronounced it, "higher". I kinda miss that country gurl sometimes.

Maya! Please come off a couple of those pain killers. My eyes hurt after I Googled the word "hermaphrodite". OUCH!!!! Now I'm going to have to move in with the Bishop it will take so long to get back to my almost normal and somewhat moral self. He said I could start by cutting his grass, with a manual old timey push mower, and he owns about 20 acres of farm land. Gee thanks MorninStar!!!!!!!

Hey WAIT!!! Don't close it yet Pam.. I've got a question and I'm sorry if it's already been asked, didn't have time to read every post because it sounded like it was about to be closed. My question is, and I promise I do not mean any disrespect it's just that I know very little about the subject and am curious. The question is:.....drum roll please??? Is it possible for an adopted son to be "sealed" with the ah.. for lack of the proper word, non-biological Mom and Dad-brothers-sisters?? If so, is the process the same as blood relatives? A temple visit required?
