To add, how elaborate the ceremony is, is generally up to the couple getting married and/or their parents. I know of ceremonies that were pretty much just a technicality or treated just as astep to the temple ceremony, and others that were very elaborate. Most fall somewhere in between.

If the person conducting the wedding doesnt have any previous experience with such it might feel a little disjointed (which in utah is probably more comon in some areas). Ive been to a non temple wedding performed by an lds bishop and it was great, and one that was between an lds girl and someone from another christian faith performed by a pastor, and it was decent. Probably comes down to experience and effort put into it.

Wouldnt you be using a counterweight elevator at the same time at the other end to reduce the effect? If we are talking Feasible Sci Fi, you'd have some sort of engine also rigged at both ends and in the middle, probably something that requires little to no fuel-say for the space end a collapsible solar sail, and if the other end is in atmosphere that is dense enough, some reallly good powerful fans.... Althat setup would be more for the end of construction. For initial construction it would have to be more conventional fuel based, but even then youd want to get all the supplies youll need at the anchorpoint so the amount of transferrence and ferrying would be minimized.

As in not connected to the ground. The longer you make it, the more pronounced the different forces acting on it will become, one that isnt connected to the ground can have the benefit not needing to be as long/big, but on the other hand it complicates using it. Still would need something quite a bit stronger than CNs tho, at least for any length that would help save on fuel to put things in a high orbit

guess we could also go for a gravity train too.... Take the hyperloop idea and instead of running it along earths surface you run it through the core or near the core to th opposite side of the world and let gravity povide something like 90-99% of the movement energy.

Altho not really manga, a good graphic novel is Inverloch, set in an almost traditional fantasy setting ( elves, humans, trolls etc.. With a couple of new races unique to the story) I've also enjoyed yu yu hakisho/ spirit detective about a punk kid who gets killed by car when rescuing a younger kid from said car... But as it was supposed to be the person he rescued that died and not him, so he gets returned to life.... With a few provisos. That one has been pretty clean so far, altho it does revolve around brawl/hand-hand martial artsy stuff ( with a little dragonballesque/streetfighter spirit shooting). Demons in this series can be pretty freakish, and afew of the violent scenes can end up on the more graphic side, but not many of them. Ive also enjoyed the first four or five seasons of megatokyo, but after that it goes meh. About two gamer addicts who get stuck in tokyo- pokes fun at ton of stereotypes and cliches found in anime, games, and things of that nature.

No idea how thoroughly students read the disclosure statements and etc... Before signing. But id wager its mostly a type of entitlement culture... Especially if someone turns away from the church, once a person does that, rarely do they keep respect for the church. At that point anything church related probably seems small to them, whereas they still take their college degrees seriously.
