more of a jab at the claim that he invented the book of mormon.

Indeed for he is priest of priests, prophet of prophets, and king of Kings. It is his will that shall continue.

Whats funny is that in the BoM JS taught some good guerrilla warfare strategies, and how also to royally screw those up....... And seems to have forgotten those lessons when he was leading the nauvoo militia.

The Refugee Thing
Blackmarch replied to dahlia's topic in Learn about The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints
The grand majority of islamophobia that is making its way on facebook is false. I think the church has a website dedicate to helping refugees, so that members can donate time and or material in helping them get settled. How we choose to treat others will affect how we are judged in the last days. Probably one of the hardest commandment is to love those who hate us. -
1st. No not shocked. Second generally its best to assume that most mud that comes out during the election is not correct.

For the first two theres pretty good evidence that camp clinton was cheating. Havent looked into the last one yet.

I prefer not to watch something that has the phrase "F* you G*d" in it. It doesnt have any history in it beyond having references to the book of mormon and joseph smith and the xhurches missionary effort. It tends to portray mormons as an optimistic if naive group. It doesnt put the church in a bad light, at least compared to the grand majority of references you come across in entertainment. It was created by the folks who brought southpark to the world. For what its worth.

Why are we encouraged to shave our beards as a mormon?
Blackmarch replied to curious_mormon's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Its related to what is generally considered clean or respectful within US culture, probably started around the world wars era. No there is nothing inherently right or wrong about a beard. However the view on it culturally seems to be shifting again. ( seeing lots more beards than I used to over the years). -
Resigning from the church and baptism for the dead
Blackmarch replied to a topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Think there is a waiting period, and some other conditionals. I think the quickest route for doing tgeir work forbthemnis if you are closely related. -
Is this a subtle call to reinstate polygamy?

The gospel according to the understanding of Blackmarch (which is quite heavily influenced by what has been learned from LDS)- first sentence is essentially correct, however i doubt that anyone chose to enter into mortality with the goal to disobey God in mind, and yes she could not remember her premortal life or the choices therein. however after that things get complicated- God first told them that they are free to partake of every fruit, period end of story.- right there they have God's permission to take of the fruit of the tree of knowledge, which brings doing so out of the status of being a sin at this point (as we understand sin is knowingly disobeying God). however right after that God says to not take the fruit of knowledge because that will kill them. if this second part is a direct command then God just contradicted himself, however if it is not a direct command but something else then there is wiggle room (and it can be read both ways with how it is given in the KJV, and if i recall right the account in Moses tends to lean to the latter). So right at the first there is possibly a route where it wasn't sin but perhaps something else. however the other part of Sin is knowingly doing so... which means adam and eve had to be taught that not following God's command is a sin, as well as understanding it before they partook it. There is nothing I have found that says they were taught this, and we have been taught that before the taking of the fruit they were like children...... however how childlike they were we don't know, but it does suggest some level not understanding or naivete. this state does put a bind on justice. however i think Eve is considered a heroine for starting the human race in mortality, more than any other aspect of the fall. And also in general it seems to me that that the general acceptance of what happened when she partook of the fruit was that she was alone when she did it.

there multiple location theories all of which have their pros and cons. I personally lean towards the events having occurred in central-eastern US locations as i think there is better evidence for that, and that influence stretched from there outwards.

probably not till the next life or after the second coming. but it would be cool if we got one before then.

I was thinking of this thread and i had this thought pop into my head "what do you spend your time focusing on?" dont need to answer this to me, im just throwing this out there to think on for whatever its worth.

He does have a great spirit, as well as a perfect body... Altho in this case they are focusing more on the being and building from a common ground, from the part the Lamanites do know .. Not unlike when we share about christ to christians- basically saying have more to add what you already know about him. Also there are some gospel helps such as the topical guide and the dictionary that can be quite helpful i think you mightbfind the entrys on bodies and spirits to e interesting. https://www.lds.org/scriptures/study-helps?lang=eng
