  1. No it was not. It was a Crisis of the Goverment and for the US as a nation... But not the Constitution... But as long as you conflate the two you will be confused. Here is a pro tip... In the Constitution there is nothing dictating the number of States one must have in order to be Constitutional. By default you need one, and more then one is assumed. Beyond that there is no Constitutionally mandated requirement. Here is another pro tip. The Constitution say the States Choose the Electors for voting for President. It is utterly silent on how they should choose them. The States could choose to use Harvey the Wonder Hamster to choose their Electors and it would be Constitutional. Therefore the cases challenging fraud of the election will fail if it is just about the method being Constitutional. It has to be Did the States follow their own rules and laws? If they did not what they did was Illegal... not Unconstitutional. (Everything Unconstitutional is Illegal but not every thing Illegal is Unconstitutional.) Your Brigham Young quote are about the Nation so those are solid. But @Just_A_Guy Pointed out how Brigham Young through his actions understood the Saints and Priesthood need to step up. As for the action you miss it because it does not fit with what you want to hear. The Elders of the Church need to live by and support politicians who up hold the Constitution and work to remove those that do not. This need will only grow as time goes on.
  2. First you need to stop conflating the Constitution with the US government... While they are linked they are not the same thing. The Constitution is a piece a paper with the outlines of a form of government written on it. The most literal interpretation of the Prophecy in question, puts us in the plot of the movie National Treasure, with the Elders playing the role of Nicolas Cage. I do not think anyone takes it that literal where we have to preserve the physical document. The next most literal interpretation is preserving the ideas and using it. The United States does this (Or in theory it does anyways). But the United States is not the Constitution it is simply an implementation of it. Governments require the consent of the Governed (Or massive overwhelming might). It seems that in the country less and less people are willing to be ruled as Outlined in the Constitution. But rather be ruled by their own sense of outrage. This will lead to the destruction of the USA if left unchecked. There is no prophecy the the Elders of the Church will save the US Goverment (Though many falsely assume otherwise). Luckily one can save the Constitution from the destruction of the US Goverment. by simply choosing to create and live in a group abiding by its principles. Now you could think that the Elders of the Church will save both the Constitution and the Goverment. That is your right but then you are adding to the prophecy your assumption and not something explicitly stated. That means you would need to explain your addition and why it is in harmony
  3. We call ourselves a Union but we are clearly not united. That is going to cost us. No matter how you slice it roughly half the country does not believe and in many cases actively belittles the other half (And it goes both ways so no matter which half you are on it happens by your side and to your side) The way to save it would be to pull back from the other side is the enemy mindset that we have and are entrenching in. Remembering that we are all Children of God and Calling upon him is a starting point for that. As for Joseph Smith's prophecy I view it through the eyes of the events in the Book of Mormon being parallels to what we will have. The Nephite nation broke up do to the secret combinations trying to gain power. So I expect the USA to break up (this is not the same as saying I want it to). Thus the prophecy would be about holding it together through the break up rather then preventing it.
  4. I am assuming that had the Case come from a Pennsylvania Voter the standing would have been a lot more solid?
  5. Basic Civic teaches us that with every Right comes with related Responsibilities. And if you neglect your Responsibilities you can loose your Rights. For the right of Freedom of Speech you have the Responsibility to use it wisely but you also have to accept the fact that you are going to hear things you do not want to hear. Now everyone has the Right to decide who and what they are going to listen to. However you need to be very careful when you let someone else decide for you. Larger organization may say they are doing such suppression for "Your Safety and Protection" but they lie. They do it because it matches what they want. So when we join these larger groups we have to make sure whatever restriction they have (or add later) match up with what we have decided. If it does not then it is not the group for us and we need to go elsewhere. If there is no elsewhere then we need to create it (which may mean breaking a monopoly first) Take for example this Website. We ask everyone to read and agree to the Site Rules. These Rule limit what we allow here. Everyone that looks to join or has joined need to decide for themselves if those restrictions are in harmony with what they choose. If it is then great.... if not then they need to go elsewhere. In our case there are plenty of elsewheres. The case of You Tube is much the same. If you do not like it go elsewhere, if there is no elsewheres then create one. If like in the case of You Tube they are so large that you might need a Goverment remedy to assist then whatever restriction becomes ammo for the case against them.
  6. The Lord's tells us the following Since we commonly think the Lord means what the video called Exoneration. This sound very hard but then in the very next verse he gives more detail on how we are to forgive by saying Now when I read that verse... that does not sound like an Exoneration or Forbearance (As the video described the terms) to me. That sounds like what they called Release to me. Let God deal with it does not mean the slate has been wiped clean, but rather that you have passed the slate to God to do whatever he wants to with it. That would be my take on it. That would and is how I would teach some one that for whatever reason was struggling to Forgive. So while there are some details one could quibble about I generally do not thing the ideas in the video is out of line.
  7. Seems like we have gotten to the subject of Righteous Expression of Emotions. In the scriptures we read about God and find that he expresses emotion quite a bit. One instance that I know people here like is the one where Christ gets mad and drives the money changers out of the temple. Like with the rest of the Gospel the path of Righteous Expression of Emotion is a strait and narrow one that we struggle with. One of the most common struggle is to be out of control. While what we feel is what we feel to many use that as an excuse to act poorly. It is a variation of the "Devil Made Me Do It" excuse, or the Hulk's 'Don't make me angry.. You will not like me when I am angry." While some might have various issues that make it harder (medical, emotional, mental etc), assuming such a person is accountable they have the responsibility work on control. And like with many other things in the gospel it can be a work in progress. That is one side. The other side is the choke hold of control, denial, and suppression of emotion. While we need control, control is not the same as denial, increasingly so over the long term. God gave us emotions for a reason, just like he gave us a lot of other things. We need to use them correctly. Emotions are one way we have of understanding things around us. For many it is the emotional cues that are the first indicator we have that something that is happening is wrong, or it is right. There are many stories of people who had a "Bad" feeling about something, but they ignored that feeling into tragedy. There are many times the feelings of "I deserve better then this" is what ends up getting people out of bad situations and help them make something better. We need to make sure we are not to far one way or the other. So this is a case where one of my favorite J. Golden Kimball quote applies
  8. I have repeatedly stated... That nothing has been delayed yet because of the challenges. The popular vote has had issues before and it was not a constitutional crisis... Even the electoral vote has had it share of shenanigans with out it being a crisis.. Only the guilty or clueless think this is something new that system can not handle. (The fact that it needs to handle it.... is a different story... and well worth doing something about) By the Constitution the States choose their Electoral vote. Nothing in the Constitution dictates HOW the States choose their Vote. That is defined by the State's own laws. If the Supreme Court is running correctly it has two ways to challenge things. Are the Laws the States set up Constitutional? (Which is really broad in this case since the Constitution is silent on How), and did the State Obey its own laws? Then if they find something the Court's actions will be dictated by what the findings are. Most likely what does the State's own laws require in this case. This is why I do not think the challenges will change the outcome, because most-likely this will put it in the hands of the local authorities. Even if the Best Case happens for Team Trump and the and the Court's order the votes switched, that is still just one state. And more then one of the contested States is needed to change the outcome.
  9. So lets say a year in to the Biden Presidency the Courts Rule he is a fraud... What is your proposed solution to a "President by Fraud"? And how would such a finding/restorative action be less disruptive then delaying things a bit?
  10. Right now it appears that maybe the Supreme Court is still honoring and enforcing the rule of law. I mean they have three Trump appointees, and a conservative majority but they are not breaking on party lines to find in favor of Trump's cases. This to me is the best indicator that the Supreme Court is working as it is suppose to. This is not to say that there is not fraud but rather Team Trump has not yet been able to meet the high requirements of the Rule of Law for them to act. Of course the people who crowing about Trumps losses at the Supreme Court level, will conveniently forget this proof of the Supreme Courts alignment if Team Trump start making their cases. Either way the evidence of fraud should be alarming to everyone...But it is going to require the voters in each state to clean up their state,
  11. In the Scriptures we learn of the Lord's ministry. We also learn that many followers turned away when they did not like what he had to say. He did not tell them the things they wanted him to say. We should not be surprised that this winnowing continues. But it really sucks when it is a loved one struggling with it. Our leaders are imperfect, and sometimes that is all the excuse we need when they say things we do not like, to walk away. But that says more about us (or the one walking away) then it does about the leader, the church or the Lord. You can't really tackle this one head on, because they have already made up their minds. All you'll do it alienate them. Instead you need to wait and love them, the Lord is not done with them yet, and so neither should you be.
  12. By their fruits ye shall know them. The question supposes that the Fruits would remain Good even if the Tree was Corrupt. As a thought experiment the idea of staying with the Good Fruit makes all the sense in the world... But in any practical event the Fruit can't exist without Truth at its foundation. Even when we go outside our Faith... the Good Fruit others bring forth is based on the truth that they have. Now one could make the case that we do not have all the truth (yet)... This seems self evident. That does not make what we have false or a lie, it just makes it incomplete. Which is a huge difference
  13. To me the Mandalorian shows that there are plenty of good stories to tell in the Star Wars setting. The stand alone moves show that they do not even have to be about Jedi. The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and the Rise of Skywalker, fail because they fail to have a coherent story. (Story is more then just plot) That failure goes to the very top. JJ Abrams is a brilliant imitator. If you want someone that can do a remake he is the man for the job. We see this in The Force Awaken, it is basically a New Hope all over again. There is nothing wrong with that, if it is what you want. But it is not really additive to the setting which many of the Audience hoped to see. Rian Johnson is a brilliant deconstructionist, he understands the expectations, the tropes and the subverts them. He understood the tropes and expectations of Star Wars and brilliantly deconstructed them in The Last Jedi. But most of the audience do not want Star Wars to be deconstructed... They want the Star Wars they know and love. The JJ Abram is put back in the Directors Seat he has to pull it all together which require more creativity then he is capable of. This is clearly shown in the Last Jedi where it brings back the Emperor and tries to tie it all back to him like the originals did. This made the new Set of movies a incoherent hot mess. If you want imitation then let JJ Abrams run, if you want deconstruction the let Rian Johnson run, but don't change tone and direction in the middle of a story. However if you want something that respects what comes before and plays the expectations and tropes straight, while adding and expanding on it... Well the Mandalorian is showing that Filoni and Favereau are the ones for that job.
  14. Trump has presented the evidence that everyone was demanding he show. (Of course that does not mean the courts will find in his favor but that is another story) So have the people that demanded he show evidence looked at it? Covered it in the news? I mean after all evidence needs to be challenged, vetted, verified. Were are all the people who were all "You need to Vote!". "You're Vote Matters!" now? Because seriously if the evidence team Trump holds up... Then the major media in there attempt to convince us that the election is/was secure, have flat out lied to us... And we need the population to be up in arms about this so it can be fixed. Sadly we getting the silence of the guilty and the abettors.
  15. I wish I believed it was just cowardice... Republican are just as vulnerable to the corruption of power as the Democrats. And if Biden was in the losing seat right now he have every reason to question that unexpected surge in Trump votes that you say caused the Fraudsters to panic. I am very much concerned that we had two sets of fraudsters at work and we are only really focused on one of them.
  16. That and the Fact that the Electoral College does not vote until December 14th... Means that Trump's legal challenges have not slowed, stopped or delayed a single thing that is legally required to happen... Yet. We have simply be spoiled by the history of candidates conceding the election, before it technically takes place. But us being spoiled does not make what Trump is doing wrong or incorrect. As for voter fraud.. power corrupts... votes are power. The very people who are suppose to be protecting the votes are the very people who can gain power by adding fraud to the mix.. If the guardians and protectors of the vote are corrupted we need a aggrieved third party (In this case Trump) to challenge the result. It is a simple fact that such challenges take time and resources to gather and present the evidence. That demand means that the third party (whomever they might be) will focus on the locations that are most likely to give them what they want. I would love to see a nation-wide review of all the votes by a bipartisan committee. But it seems we do not have the political will to make that happen.
  17. If we had exact answers we would not be speculating.. Its a place prepared of God for the woman.. thus the they who should feed her for three and half years are whomever are in the place that God prepared. Now we have certain areas in our faith that we have been told to gather...One is the Salt Lake area. If the Church (as generic term for believer) is forced to flee, and if the Salt Lake area is the placed prepared of God, then we would be the ones doing it. Another place we have as a gathering place would the be Jackson County Missouri area. We got kicked out of there. We expect to go back. If that is the place the Lord prepared for the woman then those that get there first would support and help those that get there later. Or the Lord could have something else planned and we do not know the details yet.
  18. That is in a nutshell the problem.. Projections are not the rule of law...But the media is spinning it that way. Last I checked the AP (Associated Press) has no legal standing to choose the President. But they are very much trying to make everyone think they do. By calling Trump legal challenges a threat to democracy and our nation... When the very legal system that support our democracy and our nation is designed to handle, deal with, and even expects these kinds of challenges. The only threat Trump legal challenge pose is to the power of the media to dictate who gets elected. So what is going to happen??... well so far Trump has been losing his legal challenges. That makes it very hard to make the case that the Courts are biased in his favor. If he continues to lose then Biden becomes president by the Rule of Law. Trump and his followers might not like that... but its hard not do see it coming... Because that is all the media is telling us. But if these court cases start turning... If Trump ends up winning by the Rule of Law are the people going to blame the media for getting it wrong? Will the media acknowledge its error???.... I highly doubt it. Instead they will blame court bias and call it election stealing... and when you tell people the Rule of Law is stealing the election you get riots.
  19. I understand that set of thoughts... may I recommend a different way of looking at it? Tithing settlement is the Lord's way of declaring your faithfulness in the matter of tithing. If you would not think of forgoing a temple recommend interview just because you knew you were on top of all your worthiness issues... you should not forgo a Tithing Settlement just because you are on top of all your finances. It is the same general principle only you do not get the bishop signature on a recommend afterwards
  20. When it comes to rebuking we need to remember the direction and instruction the Lord has given us in D&C 121.. Verse 43 is the detailed instructions How many times do we truly meet the first requirement?? From my own experience I have to say probably not nearly as much as I do it... Then there is the second follow up requirement... How often do we do that? Again from my own experience not nearly as much as I should. Thus for me the standard the Lord set for a righteous rebuke... well I find myself coming up short more often then not... to meet the standard the Lord has set. As for mods not doing anything... We are human... we make mistakes... we have our own biases and blindness-es. That is why we ask people to report posts/posters that they think are breaking the rules and tell us why. It is the easiest and quickest way to have all the mods become aware of something (including issues with a moderator) As for the mods doing something... Sometimes nothing is the action, many times we work behind the scenes and you never know what we did, other times are actions are clear. But simple fact is that someone is going to think the moderators made the wrong choice... Either we do not act enough... or we acted too much.. There is no win for us in these situations. Just doing what we think is the best for the forums as a whole.
  21. By small an simple things the Lord does that which is great. Tithing Settlement is as about as small an simple as it gets. Sadly it seems many think it is too small and too simple to be bothered with
  22. I am grateful for my home as well. From the house that we are in to the spirit and activity my wife and I have tried to encourage here. It is always nice to 'go home' at the end of the day.
  23. The scriptures tell us to be 'Anxiously engaged in a good cause and to bring to pass much righteousness' If such a page is what they feel they should be doing (aka what the Lord would have them do) then more power to them. However nothing requires me as a third party capable of getting my own guidance and direction from the Lord to agree with them or follow them.
  24. I am grateful for my job and for its ability to support my family. There are always stories of people losing there job due to one reason or another... Most recent being COVID. But my job has remained stable throughout it all
  25. I am grateful for the blessing of good health, for me and for my loved ones. We have had a few scares that help us appreciate it more but by and large my family and I have been very blessed in this matter.
