  4. You guys have never experienced Montreal! Unbelievable! I used to visit a restaurant on the 2nd floor overlooking the street. The entertainment was watching the traffic on the street below.

  8. Hi @kiwii Nice to meet you! Look forward to your posts! đŸ„
  9. So true! If this is the case, you need to get counseling on your own, and probably not tell husband. Lds counseling in my area is done on Skype so getting counseling is easier.
  10. A couple of people have told me that they experienced church discipline, I assume that they were disfellowshipped. If they had not told me, I would not have known. No one other than those who need to know, has this information. If there is some ghosting...can’t imagine how this would work?, then there is something odd going on... So odd situations that I have encountered...a man with some mental issues, started to call me and leave phone messages while he was suffering from cocaine use. He called me because I had a stake calling and he referred to the stake calling. He described serious law infringement issues on his phone messages. I reported these issues to my bishop and I did not return the phone calls. This situation is the only form of ‘ghosting’ that I have ever heard of and I have been around for a while and held a lot of callings. I think that you should make an appointment to talk to your bishop and consider counseling.
  11. I have to think that someone who is commenting on someone’s garments or lack-there-of has quite a few problems. Such a person is really colouring outside the lines. This person probably goes through life offending a lot of people and causing some pretty serious problems for themselves. From observation, there is very little that can be done for these people in the short term and it can take decades to have any impact. My ward has a guy who loved aftershave although the leaders begged him not to wear it because some in the ward had serious allergies. He even walked up to a sister who wore a mask due to scarring on the lungs from her scent allergy, apologized for wearing scent and enveloped her in a bear hug. A decade later the sister has asked permission to attend another ward because my current ward has too many members who will not do the scent-free thing. This is after so may announcements about the need to be scent free, I cannot count them. The scented Bro on the other hand has had a lot of job issues. If people are really dense, there is little that you can do to change them.
  12. @cathyyg Thank you! I am going to strive for more positive ness! What a sensible, uplighting way to look at life! What these Jewish terms mean: http://www.oxfordreference.com/view/10.1093/oi/authority.20110803125333955
  13. @Tyme Nice to have you here! I would just start attending your local ward. When you feel ready, you can talk to the bishop. Just tell people that you have been inactive for awhile.
  14. What fresh hell is this? Is it not enough that there is Mommia 2? Who would have thought that there was a need for a sequel?
  15. Makes sense! Hope you and your family have a wonderful experience!
  16. @cathyyg Ticket prices? For the ....barbecue? Corn roast? Do tell!
  17. @DennisTate I can only hope that these antisemites are spending at least part of their eternity cleaning floors with toothbrushes!
  18. I met a woman, elderly, who had been a child on a shipload of Jewish children who were refused by Canada around this time. Fortunately the US took them in. Shameful!
  19. I used the children’s books too! Very useful to me. I gave them to investigators and they liked them too!
  20. Yes Larry Anderson. A life saver for me!
  21. Housing First The guaranteed income programs in Finland and Ontario have been cancelled. In Ontario, the Conservative Party got in and cancelled the program, they were trying an income subsidy in 3 locations. The plan was to give people a low level of income, below the level that a person could live on, This amount of money might allow them to buy antidepressants or to get some education. The idea was to stop spending money on monitoring people and instead give the money directly to people. Anyway cancelled in the 3 locations in Ontario. So here’s another idea, Housing First. Give the homeless housing and then work on drug addictions etc. Medicine Hat’s experience looks good. Doesn’t work for all. Seems to work for 9/10 according to video. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/26/world/canada/homeless-canada-medicine-hat-housing-first.html Utah’s experiences show a more complex side of the issue. Could be an 80/20 problem with the 20% needing institutional care. Still a helpful tool https://www.deseretnews.com/article/865678779/Is-Utah-still-a-model-for-solving-chronic-homelessness.html
  22. Road Trip!
  23. @Muslim2Mormon Welcome! Glad that you have worked out a system with your Stakepres. The best cure that I found for vaginitis is boric acid made into a paste and applied to the affected region. But yes, sleeping naked and wearing only cotton undies is also recommended. Good luck with the health issues. You may be over sharing with others. I drink coffee for migraines but I share that on a need to know basis. The ‘don’t wear for health reasons’ for bishop/Stake Pres is probably the optimum need to know for garments. As a friend of mine says, ‘Life is not a Talkshow so keep personal info to yourself’.
