  1. The ones my wife and I have seen are about $75-85 for an hour session. Still a lot, but we saw one once a week for a month to get ourselves a good basis of what to work on, then did it once a month. Now it’s just as needed. I would also talk to your bishop and see if he can help financially with it.
  2. @Junior I agree with Jane, you need marriage counseling. These issues are not things that we can help you with. It has to be something you both are doing for help. At counseling you will both learn how to be better spouses.
  3. I actually stopped reading before the last sentence (which was the dead give away) My bad!
  4. You caught me! I haven’t actually played Mario Kart cause we typically resort to smash bros.
  5. To me I always try to always be aware of the activity I’m doing and if it is in line with what the church says: “In harmony with this revelation, Church members seek to keep the Sabbath day holy at church and at home. At church, members participate in the sacred ordinance of the sacrament, which Jesus Christ instituted at the Last Supper and when He visited the Nephites (see Matthew 26:26–28; Luke 22:19–20; 3 Nephi 18:1–12). At home, members participate in uplifting activities that help them learn the gospel, strengthen faith in Jesus Christ, build family relations, and provide service. By participating in these activities at church and at home, members can establish family traditions that will help nurture multigenerational families who are faithful to the Lord and who call the Sabbath a delight (see Isaiah 58:13–14). What should I do and what should I not do on the Sabbath? President Russell M. Nelson taught: “I learned from the scriptures that my conduct and my attitude on the Sabbath constituted a sign between me and my Heavenly Father. With that understanding, I no longer needed lists of dos and don’ts. When I had to make a decision whether or not an activity was appropriate for the Sabbath, I simply asked myself, ‘What sign do I want to give to God?’ That question made my choices about the Sabbath day crystal clear” (“The Sabbath Is a Delight,” April 2015 general conference).” (https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/gospel-topics/sabbath-day?lang=eng) I make sure I have a dedicated scripture study and family history time. When I am with my family, I’ll play board games or appropriate video games with them (ie Mario cart or Super Smash Bros). On occasion I’ll do light recreation, my sister and her boyfriend are coming into town next weekend and want to go visit Bryce Canyon with us so we are going to go do a little hiking. We don’t shop, watch movies, work, play games alone, read non-religious books, or heavy recreation.
  6. I had a very similar feeling. That statement stood out to me the most.
  7. I once was told that my church is hateful and is clearly a big con. An hour later we were laughing together and playing video games. This friend also cried the day I went on my mission cause he was going to miss me so much. We can all learn from him.
  8. I would actually love to experience that
  9. He didn’t say “God affirms homosexual lifestyles and encourages everyone who is gay should do gay things”
  10. This is actually a big help for my parents (who have a gay son and trans daughter) who support and affiliate in LGBTQ youth organizations but do not support or promote the actual beliefs. “Support” has always been a vague word when used between an LGBTQ individual and a Christian. Very happy to see this clarification
  11. Im under the impression that God is aware of our wants and needs and understands the human condition and the importance of money when it comes to our survival... but perhaps he isn’t 🤷🏻‍♂️
  12. Just finished listening to it, his talk was incredible. Purely logical, full of love, and to the point. What a great man.
  13. I don't think that is what Vort is saying. We as saints often want to peg money as righteous or wicked. But that isn’t the case. Money is neither wicked nor righteous, it merely enhances the righteousness or wickedness found in a person. Perhaps some are blessed with riches because they showed God in pre existence they would do great good with it and it seemed good to God to do it. Some he curses with riches in order to show them money does not bring joy. Some he withholds wealth to teach humility, some he withholds wealth Because it would destroy them spiritually. I’m sure you can poke holes I my description, I know I can, but the point that I am trying to drive home is that wealth is not a sure sign of righteousness. But giving thanks to God for all you have is a sign of righteousness.
  14. Pres Oaks has always been absolutely incredible to me. Even before I knew who he was, I saw that bald head and I knew I was in for a treat. His talk in the the morning (right?) session was masterful.
  15. Don’t be silly, we all know that was a raw video of an Assembly of God service
  16. I took a glance over at Mormondialogue to see how they were responding to it and there seemed to be a unanimous belief that this was one step closer to sisters getting the priesthood.
  17. I would argue that the loud conservatives (excluding Milo Yiannopoulos and Alex Jones) would fight censorship of the left. I can see Shapiro and the whole DailyWire team, Crowder, Carlson, and Jordan Peterson all beating any censorship of the left to shreds if it would ever happen. Probably making snark remarks in the process, but the best conservatives have a stronger allegiance to the constitution than any ideology (From what I see at least). I honestly believe we would have a healthier political lifestyle in the world if conservatives ran the media and not liberals, are there any countries where conservative media dominates (and I mean conservative in the american sense)
  18. I am sure the bishop can help Not sure what constitutes an order to the bishop's store house or how often they arrive, but that is one option. OR, ask for help from the ward. I am sure some would love to help out.
  19. I would feel the same. Freedom of speech is of great importance. I too would be upset, but because I don't care too much about liberal sources, I wouldn't notice it and would likely not make a big deal about it. As Vort suggested, it is a bigger deal when it is your own ideas being censored. If my house ox is gored, it is a BIG PROBLEM.If my neighbor's ox is gored, then it is only a big problem.
  20. I met a temple sealer while at the temple and we had a little down time waiting for a witness and he spoke about the media today and how he refuses to watch anything with any amount of immorality or amorality. He did this to the point of walking out of a PG movie a friend suggested that used the Lord’s name in vein. He then Began to speak of his disappointment in his friend. Its moments like this that I think of the stake leader that told a doctrine class “I think there are a lot of saints that will be surprised they didn’t qualify for exaltation” and wonder if I am one of those. I can’t fathom seeing this sealer achieve the same glory as many of the forum members here (all of whom I look up to) who openly share their experiences watching pg-13 and R movies. I also think of apostles quoting Les Mis and Starwars and wonder how that all fits into appropriate media. Everyone will cry “it’s art” but that doesn’t change the fact their are mild amounts of sexual, drug, cursing, and violence in them.
  21. There is an incredible amount of these on Youtube
  22. You can test the young Turks out, they aren’t at all. Search them and you will get video after video for pages linking to their page. I just searched “Steven crowder” and you will get his page, his two most recent videos, and then nothing for 33 videos down (you will get videos about him from other sources, but none from his page specifically). And amongst those videos that come before his are TINY channels getting sub 10,000 views trash talking Steven crowder. How do these tiny, anti SC, displace his 30,000-15,000,000 views videos? It isn’t immediately huge deal, he is already demonetized, and people looking for him are going to find him. But it’s just so perplexing that YouTube throttles one of the largest and most outspoken US conservative commentators on their site ONLY in the USA.
