I'm just responding to give LostSheep some laughs; you're still shy of your goal. I know I have no desire to be a mod. It must truly be a calling because no spiritual force has even hinted at me that it might be my course. I'll support the mods, bribe them when it's necessary, but I'll never be one. ;)

Not saying I'm interested, just curious. What's it take to become an LDS.net Moderator? :king:

But . . . who the heck would want to be one? Once you do you only represent the structure instead of yourself. In the case of some of the jokers in this thread, the structure you'd represent would be the toilet (all the head mod stuff). Generally it is the toilet that supports me, not the other way around.

Okay (and before I get grounded), I do like the mods on this site, but too often when you promise to watch the juveniles, then you can't be one. Who the heck would want that?!?

LostSheep, so you want to be a mod in name only. That's fine and dandy but after your 3 month probation period you wouldn't get your required raise in pay. :)

I think this is the one that got me in:

  • The person does not need to be any certain faith, but needs to demonstrate that they understand and follow the rules of the site and expect others to do the same. As we have a diverse site, it's important to me that the moderating staff is diverse as well.
You see--I'm very diverse. :D

I remember praying, when the call came, "Lord, if possible, take this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will . . . " Instead of taking it away, one of his junior angels dumped it on me.

If they make me a MOD, you will see the announcement in the forum, and you should stay in for as long as can. Because that could be the last time you may be able to log in. You will see your avatar hanging on a fisherman's hook and the letters across the screen: YOU HAVE BEEN BANNED!!! HAHAHA!!!

I tried bribing Pam, I even sent her some money via Western Union but no takers....I'm still plotting.

You sent me money? Okay who took my money. I never saw any money. Could you please send it again?

I have a question about moderators myself. When I was in the Marines we called the restroom the "head". Does that mean those with the title "Head Moderator" are in charge of the restrooms.:)

nope.....if someone was in charge of that....they would be the "Colonel of the Yernal"

Heyyyyy...I go to STarbucks quite often..so give it back PC.

Actually, if I ever became a mod, I'd just do it for the title....not the work. I would be the laziest mod ever.

I think john doe would give you some competition.

I just saw the requirements for being a mod.

Y'all can HAVE IT! It's like being a GA for LDS.net instead of .org! (j/k)

But it IS a real job and I think Heather has put together some good requirements for the moderator staff to run a great forum. Kudos to that!

Heyyyyy...I go to STarbucks quite often..so give it back PC.

Let's see, PC belongs to a fellowship in which fellowship around the coffee urn is virtually a sacrament, lives in a city that gave birth to Starbucks, Millstone, Seattle's Best Coffee, and Tully's, and in a previous existence was a Java's Witness...and Pam, who slinks into Starbucks to order only that which the store does not specialize in...and she thinks I'm gonna give it up. Pam is the best and the greatest. I owe her big time. But, I cannot in good conscience turn over a sacred Starbucks card to a mere wannabe. ;)

Shout out to our Moderators... they do a great job and deserve our respect and appreciation.

I agree.

I've been on a lot of sites with a lot of moderators, that do a lot of moderating, but I have never seen moderators moderate as well as the moderators on this site moderate.

Whew!

Becoming a mod is easy-peasy. Just be nice to the lady folk. Soon enough they'll all want you to mod with them. ;)

Hey, this mod isn't that easy. I need some love and affection in the form of sapphires and diamonds. :P
