Dravin Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Interesting little sight that gives you a break down on name popularity (in the US). You can type in the name, trying to hunt through the thin lines would be madness. I notice my name was ranked #2 once upon a time.Linky: Name Voyager | The Baby Name Wizard Quote
beefche Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Why are you looking at baby names? Do you have an announcement? Quote
ozzy Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Duuuude, thats cool. As a girls name mine was 781 in the '90s and as a boys name it was 418. What can I say, I'm an odd ball. :) Quote
Dravin Posted October 18, 2010 Author Report Posted October 18, 2010 Why are you looking at baby names? Do you have an announcement?Yes. You know that ban on human cloning? Not as effective as you might think. Mini-me just seems so overdone. Quote
Roseslipper Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 i dont need to look up my name I already know inot many people with it. hehehe Quote
PrinceofLight2000 Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Mine was 44th most popular for my birth year. Quote
jayanna Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 great, it's never heard of mine...I'll just have to define it myslef :) Quote
Wingnut Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 I was just looking at this site the other day for a name a friend was asking about. I didn't check my own though, until now. It was #217 around the time when I was born, which is quite surprising. It's not common at all, and I haven't met that many people with it (or some variation of it). And it's apparently been making a comeback in the last few years. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Quote
Sitamoia Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Mine seemed to hit its peak around 1900 (974th) so it has never really been that popular. I have met a few people with my name but they tend to be a generation older than me. Quote
Melissa569 Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Hmmm, interesting :) Looks like my name peaked in the 1970's at around #3? Stange how in the 1800's, it was a bit circulated, but almost gone in the 1920's... Wonder what the 20's had against my name? lol. But around my birth year, it was #7. Not bad, I guess. Quote
pam Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Mine ranked 13th the year I was born. For 2009 it's 845. Quote
Blackmarch Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 mine's a rare one ..... Nathan Quote
Honor Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 The closest thing to my name was ranked # 847 in the 1880's, #947 in the 1890's and 0 in the 1900's. I thought my parents were unique, but I guess they were about 100 years out of date. Quote
LocalFarms Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 all to aware my first name was VERY popular the year I was born. Ranked #3 for boys names in the 70s:mellow: Quote
lizrenowden Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) Mine ranked 4th in the 1880s and last year it was 10th - still I don't suppose it will go out of fashion - good steady name like mine :-) . Still if I had been given the name my father wanted 'Sharon' it would have been somewhere in the 770s now. Edited October 19, 2010 by lizrenowden Quote
staytrue2faith Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 My name is very popular, in the 1990's it was ranked #5. It's... Sarah Quote
bcguy Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 I think there are 12 of us family members left in the world with the last name of my dad and with my unusual name, only one of me :) My dads side historically has small families. Quote
talisyn Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 I used this site a lot when trying to find baby names for my youngest Quote
