Over43 Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 Today's Saturday afternoon session in October Conference is great. Except the choir dress, it is Fall and the sisters are dressed like Easter eggs. Bright though. Quote
pam Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 Really? We're going to find fault in the dress of the choir? Daybreak79 1 Quote
Wingnut Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 I didn't notice the juxtaposition. I did notice that the men's ties were SUPER bright, though, compared to what we typically see. I always like seeing the bright varied colors in the Saturday afternoon session, though, because MoTab always dresses as clones. :) Quote
dahlia Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 Really? We're going to find fault in the dress of the choir?Yes. Yes we are. I don't know why I find their dress so disturbing. I think the colors are flat, there are too many of them, and the women look informal next to the men in suits. It's the same thing when the missionaries sing. The sisters' blouses just strike me as odd and jumbled next to the elders. I didn't even notice the men's ties, I was so wrapped up in the sisters' blouses. I can always find something to complain about. NightSG, jerome1232 and Leah 3 Quote
classylady Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 Wait. I thought in the afternoon conference, the choir was from the Grantsville area, not the MoTab. Quote
pam Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 I guess I just find it difficult after hearing such wonderful talks to have a thread being picky about the colors the choir wears. Seems just so trivial. Wingnut, Palerider, AngelMarvel and 1 other 4 Quote
Jenamarie Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 I actually was pleased that the MEN were allowed to be (slightly) colorful for once. It's always brightly colored women next to men in dark suits and subdued ties. They still had the dark suits, but I loved the brightly colored ties. :) Iggy, mordorbund and Wingnut 3 Quote
classylady Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) The music has been wonderful. The different colored blouses didn't bother me. I noticed them, but it didn't bother me. I tend to notice hair cuts/styles more than clothing. Edited October 5, 2014 by classylady Quote
LDS0617 Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 Personally, I loved the colors. :) Quote
pam Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 Well I want to say the missionary choir for the Priesthood session has to be the best I've seen. They were so awesome. NightSG 1 Quote
Backroads Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 Eh, I've never cared for the women's dress. It's never sightly to wear the same dress rregardless of figure. Leah 1 Quote
Guest LiterateParakeet Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 My teenage daughter said to me, "The only bad thing about being in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir would be those shirts they have to wear." Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 I started watching the AM session on a desktop computer where the dresses looked pastel; but ended the session at my in-laws' home on a large flat-panel TV where they seemed to be wearing a much darker hue. Go figure. I thought they sounded awesome. Quote
Silhouette Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 I was somewhat surprised at the chosen colors, but I thought as a whole, the choir looked rather cheery. Quote
jerome1232 Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 I have to admit, I find the colors jarring but only because of the men in black suits next to the sisters. If they'd give the men colored jackets or give the sisters nun's outfits, either one would soothe me. Quote
Palerider Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 I guess I was enjoying the music too much to notice the way they were dressed. Sunday21 1 Quote
