Not just poor nutrition choices. Stress and a UN-healthy diet can and does cause Adrenal problems.
-
The're are out there. All it takes is google search for adrenal gland dysfunction. I was looking for some chronic pain information the other day and was surprised to come across another one. I didn't bookmark it. Sorry. Adrenal dysfunction is caused by stress and stress is a big issue in our society. What I do have is too many online friends (for more than 10 years) who have been fighting chronic illnesses. Most of them report weight falling off in AFTER a new doctor decides to do adrenal gland function testing, finds the problem and fixes it. There have been too many in my small group of contacts for me to discount the studies I've seen over the years.

All my babies had reflux. The last two were severe. It wasn't until I had four that I could recognize a refluxing baby just by holding them. I'm slow I guess. I can feel the little "urp" in their chest. Anyway, it hurts. It causing a burning and if severe can cause ulcers in the esophagus. Talk to your pediatrician. There is so much they can do to help today.

I have known since I was a child. My Dad's friend married a woman widowed on her honeymoon. There were many adult conversations I heard growing up about the situations and who the children were sealed too, etc.

Those "glandular" issues aren't as rare as you would think.

I've never thought of those questions. I'm interested in the answers. We often attend the SL Temple. I can't answer the Garden room questions because I get so turned around in the temple I don't know if I'm going North or South. :)

Ok, then I would think you would attach a notation regarding the divorce and date.

Are you in familysearch.org?
-
A family group record would be completed for each marriage. There is a place to show divorce. Any children of the marriage are on the family group sheet with their biological parents. This only changes when legal adoption occurs.

See bolded. I'm a bit confused by the timeline here. If you're going to stay with him you need to protect your family financially and in other ways. He may be able to open up credit and run up bills but you don't have to be connected to his bad financial choices. Keep the family finances separate from your husband's. Do not put your husband's name on the accounts or the house, car, etc. Insist your credit score be separate. If your husband has to declare bankruptcy eventually its all his, not yours. I know this can happen because my sister's brother-in-law has had to keep family finances separate from his wife's because she is a compulsive shopper. She had to declare bankruptcy but because the house and other things were in his name only her bankruptcy only involved her. She's in trouble again without the bankruptcy net to catch her. I'm not sure what will happen now, but I do know her credit is so bad nobody will open another credit card for her. I would also make sure the Bishop understands the medical issues. Give him a chance. If he finds out about the things your husband is doing and doesn't have the medical background, he won't be able to help you in appropriate ways. I wish you all the best in your journey. This is a tough one. -
Proof of Heaven by Eben Alexander, M.D. Great read. He's a neurosurgeon who didn't believe in life after death until he had a very profound NDE (Near Death Experience). It was interesting how his story happened. Too many "coincidences", but I don't believe in coincidence. :)

When I have doubts about a blessing and if it will work. I verbally or in my head several times, remind myself that I have faith and I know Heavenly Father will bless me if I have faith. I tell myself "I know....." For me doubts come from Satan. Satan wants us to doubt the Priesthood. He wants us to doubt our faith. He wants us to doubt our Heavenly Father. So, I just keep reminding myself. Just yesterday I had to do this. I've been in lots of pain for weeks. I knew what was wrong but nothing I did was helping. Our home teachers came by on Thursday and my husband asked if I wanted a blessing while they were here. I said yes, but then my husband didn't bless me with what I thought I needed. I went to the Instacare doctor yesterday morning and ended up having an ultrasound. I got worse after I got home and again nothing helped so I made an appt with my doctor for Monday. Then I realized I was doubting. So I started reminding myself that I believe. I have faith. I know the Priesthood works. And most importantly, I know Heavenly Father will give me the blessing He wants me to have. I woke without pain this morning.

I remember this talk. I think I needed to hear it again today so it was put in my path. It touched me enough that I felt strongly that I needed to share it too.

Spouse of traumatic brain injury ( TBI )
applepansy replied to lovelylaura38's topic in Introduce Yourself
My mother's first stroke was in 1970 during the delivery of my baby sister. My mother became more emotionally abusive towards me, yet more caring towards the younger kids. Its hard to deal with TBI. Its equally hard to predict from one person to the next as everyone is different. Whatever you do make sure any children around him are SAFE! EDIT: Along the lines of everyone being different.... My grandmother's first major stroke didn't happen until she was in her 80s. After she learned to talk, walk, read and write the biggest noticeable difference was she was MORE like herself. She was ambidextrous and the stroke took out the entire left hemisphere of her brain. It was a privilege to have her live with us for awhile. -
My kids know how to work hard.... all of them. That is one thing we were able to teach them. Part of the reason was we didn't give them an allowance. If they wanted spending money they had to earn it. There was a cost to this that I didn't understand at the time. My sister decided a kid's job was school. So she didn't pay allowance but she paid for grades. She didn't pay for a B or even an A-. Only and A. Then she paid them $10 for every A. Chores around the house were something you did because you wanted a warm bed, food on the table, clothes to wear and a room over your head. My kids are hard workers but struggled in school. Her kids are hard workers with fantastic grades. Two of them will probably be going to medical school. I think how we taught out kids to be hard workers was by example. They learned to work because that's what we did.

Pepto Bismol PINK? with Dark purple carpet, upholstered headboard on a round bed and would you believe flocked purple and shiny gold fleur d'lis wallpaper? (I wish I'd taken a picture cuz nobody believes me when I tell them about it.)

I've been married 36 years and I think the thing that makes me feel like a queen is when my husband does some service for me that I'm not expecting. Sometimes it doing the dishes when he gets home late on a day when I've had a really bad day. Sometimes it just an unexpected passionate kiss. Sometimes... its just service. Growing up I often heard "Charity begins at Home." Since "Charity" is the true love of Christ. Treating your wife with charity or in other words, as Christ would, would be to treat her like a queen.

Well said. Thank you.

Then Obama needs to be fair and place a personal phone call to every American who is "coming out." The issue isn't that POTUS called the guy. The issue is he is deflecting attention away from something else. Give it time, we'll soon find out what he's trying to hide. Probably another executive order.

They scare me too. They have too much authority. And the medical community often make claims which are taken as fact when often they are only opinion. My sister faced a false accusation from an ER doctor several years ago. If not for her standing in the community it could have had a horrific ending. As a defense for herself and to try to ensure the doctor involved didn't make false accusations against another parent, she had to hire an attorney. It was money she could have spent on something more productive for you children. What do parents who don't have thousands of dollars do? The parents in Ca are poor. How do they fight a corrupt system? Even when DCFS,\(finally after years of abuse) took the kids away from my grandson's mother, it was scary to have them in my life. I was so very grateful for a judge who saw the truth of the situation and discontinued services. The DCFS case workers were shocked at the time. One said they always have control until they determined they don't need to be involved. When she said that chills ran up my spine.

Multiple Media During Scripture Study
applepansy replied to Tough Grits's topic in Scripture Study Forum
Thank you for posting. Sometimes I wish all the resources we have today had been available 30+/- years ago when my children were young. They learned to read from the Book of Mormon. Having an audio version which is so easily accessed at the dinner table would have made things so much easier. :) -
new vs old - which is better?
applepansy replied to searching_questioner's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Another important thought and I can't remember who said it. If we don't study History and we are destined to repeat the mistakes of the past. I think the reason I thought of this is because all I've learned from studying Alma, commonly called the war chapters. I haven't learned about going to war but I've learned how to stay close to my Heavenly Father when faced with adversity. -
new vs old - which is better?

This thread has saddened me this morning and I can't help but wonder what Elder Holland would think of the idea that we replace precious chapters/books of the Book of Mormon with any of his Conference talks. He has quoted Joseph Smith in saying the Book of Mormon is the most correct book on Earth. He has quoted Pres. Benson who said we would get closer to God only through reading the Book of Mormon and applying the principles we find there. (not verbatim quotes. typing from memory) Searching_Questioner, I agree with Vort. Somehow I don't think you're looking for answers but for someone to agree with you.
