Historical accuracy of the BOM
Blackmarch replied to omegaseamaster75's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
It's as accurate as a person trying to be a humble servant to the Lord could make it from what they could see, the revelations they were shown, the histories they studied, and whatever means they had to ascertain current events around them. -
Do we come close to worshipping Joseph Smith?
Blackmarch replied to a topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
as a whole no. but i wouldnt be surprised if there are people who stick him on such a pedestal. -
I trust not wiki leaks more than i do the russian gov, the chinese gov, or the clintons.... And many parts of the us are rapidly achieving that level of trust from me.

Actually that scene is pretty clean and really short.. I actually had to rewind to see it again to know what i saw (its not an accurate depiction but its still pretty graphical for a couple seconds, not unlike seeing a limb from cow hanging from a rack at a butchers).... Its the demon scenes that would be more disturbing actually. Its one thing to talk about, another thing to see, secondly this is entertainmrnt and not for learning. History puts most fiction to shame in about every aspect when you start hitting the nitty gritty stuff.

edit: to add- if the deaths and murder are politically motivated it seems to be a pretty sloppy job quite frankly, considering that the powers being accused would have all sorts of other options for silencing or disappearing individuals. (out of those I'd wager that the deaths would be more likely candidates rather than the murder, and that one is coincidence if it does turn out to be a case of the clinton platform as being ultimately responsible) Another angle: if somebody who supports a certain political platform and then commits a crime in order to further that platform along completely under their own volition, should the leaders of that platform be held accountable for the crime?

i'm saying it could also be done to keep her out of office. If you have a statue of a Christ next to a Statue of Buddha, which one do you defile to get people pissed off at Buddhists? but more importantly if you are going around accusing someone of murder then you'd had best have good proof better than coincidence. IT should be interesting to see what wikileaks is promising to spew in the near future.

Nausicaa of the valley of the wind hands down, altho while it is seperate books its not treated like a series... So it might fail at the qualification of series. Battle angel and kenshin are the two series i keep getting drawn back to time and again.

I wouldnt be surprised if such were so. No idea if thats the actual case or not tho.

Nausicaa of the valley of the wind. Love the story, movie etc. what a hero should be. So refreshing to have one that really goes out of her way to avoid using violence to solve conflict.

Welcome! And thanks for sharing

As detestible as she is the murders have yet to be proven, furthermore if the spate of deaths are politically related, its also possible that another party that wants people against hillary is responsible.

Sabbath vs. School activities? Lower grades...
Blackmarch replied to NeedleinA's topic in General Discussion
I agree. In general if you do all you can, god usually provides some means to succeed at both. But if not, after youve done all you can do to resolve the dilemma, and there is still conflict- the choice then will indicate which master one values most, at that moment.... But i think that is the key; doing all you can do in any given situation. As for a grade, that is only a system label, given to help that system make a judgement on an individual. -
I have yet to experience a universe with a lack of gods.

who and what is more important? The lord's way is the way of sacrifice. -
if polygamy is required then we will be given a chance to prepare for it at some point.

This is a good question and is defenitely threadworthy. Ideally the best way is the same thing that brings people into the church, or very similarly. so whatever must be done to get the spirit to speak to someone. Alma, both the elder and the younger happen to be in situations that are pretty similar to ours today.

Why do we need a sacrificed mediator?
Blackmarch replied to jasonnooson's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
secondly christ had to pay enough that no one could possibly say that anyone he chooses to redeem, that such an action would be in any way unjust or in violation of law. -

Blackmarch replied to jasonnooson's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
when we sinned we gave up what we had to pay with. christ payed enough to cover the practice period (more like probation period). secondly we don't get into the greatest kingdom till after the millenium (1000 year practice period) -
Non-church life is so good. What shall i do?
Blackmarch replied to Ulder's topic in General Discussion
Later is the call of the procrastinator. In regards to that i'd recommend the parable of the 10 virgins. There's a reason the israelites wanted to stay in babylon/egypt. -

As in the cesation of existance? i have no idea, and i have not seen anything to suggest the possibility. As for a seperation from God? sure... it's called outer darkness.

In the end God must be just He cannot give more chances to one person than another.... within that purview i think the sticking point would be "did he really get a full chance, or a chance as good as the best chance anyone else got?" also we ultimately don't know what that limit initially is either. Have you studied out section 76 in the doctrine and covenants? Also keep in mind that those in greater kingdoms can visit leser kingdoms. Personally i'd assume the worst, and work like heck for the best, with much prayer and pleading to God for mercy upon anyone I was concerned about. Repentance revolves around a person changing and i figure there's always hope right up until the last judgement- Christ is our lawyer.
