    Because dritics will try to use anything they can to shock you away from the church. What was normal and permissable back rhen isnt now, and vice versa. the sealing power is the power to bind in heaven and on earth, while it is necessary for a husband and wife to be sealed, it is also important in binding all of us to our families, to each other, and most importantly, to god- so we can recieve all the blessings of being partbof his family.

    Continued. Its an easy trap to get sucked into; to notice something of value that is easy to see and think of some purpose tha seems nobler to us that the worth thereof would be better applied to.... When in reality we totaally miss all the the effort and material that goes unseen into those efforts we wish upon. Usually compounded by the fact that we ignore our lack of effort and sacrfice for such causes while criticising others of it. In regards to the temple we regard people on both sides of veil as of being of great worth, and our leaders are constantly urging us to do more, both in templework and towards our fellowmen who are with us in mortality. And most of us could do more in both cases.

    Consequences are part of our existence. That being said, the only things that have a lasting effect on your own salvation, are your own choices. And no, they arent being punished. I dont see anything that would prevent them from being resealed later should they so desire it and are worthy. As for nullification i dont know exactly but if they didnt specify your kids I would not assume that they are included in the nullification.

    Hmm interesting insight, although not really the direction i was going, i think... In this sort of situations imo god gave whatever commands which were necessary during the creation, the consequences of which cascaded down to enable us to breathe, and perhaps as well whatever it is he does or did that enables us exist each second. Im sure that there are commands and knowledge that he issues to cause that to happen- these we know little to none on, or possibly might not have been shared to the public, or allowed to fade if they were. I think there is a lot of knowledge that isnt necessary for us to have revelation on, but if we come to it by other means, god isnt too worried about it. I was thinking more on why we dont generally dont get or dont get more revelation, and i narrow it down to three camps; A, it will condemn us, B, it is useless to us at that point, or C we'll share it with other people.

    that is what the line of authority is for, which also allows a little room for inspiration and adjustment to the current situation if it is necessary.

    Knowledge is power. Deny it to potential enemies. Including paranoid drama folks.

    Or people looking for loopholes or getting very legalistic in intrepretation, or going around the leadership.

    I think both of you are right. The body isnt developed, but the spirit is. Id wager that if the veil is taken away at that point the persons spirit has access to prior experience and knowledge to use... I suppose if necessary in finding ways to overcome the limits of the bodys current state of development.

    Strong Visual evidence has only been found in the last decade or two. To traveler; as far as i know the onLy stuff that escapes or theoretically escapes black hole event horizons is hawking radiation. All the energy we get from black holes is generated by matter falling int it and is shot out before it pases the point of no return.

    Also, what are the things that have tendecy to bring us to repentence? Is it not usually some sort of strife or conflict? In the next life most of these strifes wont exist

    Our gospels don't tell us if God the Father is married either, yet we are commanded to be such. They do not mention much of the sacred things that are inside or are beyond the covenants we are commanded to take. The prophets only share what they are told to share or feel inspred to share, the rest is kept hidden from the world. I would argue that the greater in significance, sacredness, of a thing, the less likely it is to be placed for the world to see. JS also said once to the effect is that often god does not share his mysteries because we like to share things ( that and teaching the saints was like trying to crack a nut with nothing but a pancake).

    To go through whatever agony to the point where all things in and under heaven will say, yes what he went through is good enough to satisfy the punishment for each and every law that has or will be broken- that none will be able to argue that it is unjust or unfair, or that a law or breaking of it has been left unfulfilled.

    Cost. Now that is a pretty hotly debated item. Right along up with putting a $ on a human being. But id wager that for the first guy who has to put his face where the enemy can see him, that it's not enough.

    Well maybe the shouts of "see what conservative christianity makes you do" will die down for a moment.

    If one can consecrate/bless/dedicate a home i dont see how animals would be much different. I imagine that it would have to be necessary and it would different from blessing a person. IMO using and fulfilling the priesthood should never be taken lightly.

    No it is not. At least every quote from a leader that ive seen that states natural along with the term God, never said that god did it the natural way. Let me guess and say youre thinking of mormon doctrine by McConkie? Id suggest taking a careful read of the paragraph.

    A being that knows good and evil. and looking at our culture and society I don't think we're close to really understanding good and evil.

    I like what adam savage did forvhis space suit, he rigged a system that pumped cooled water thru tubing luced through a shirt, which was cycled thru a backpack unit that used icevto cool the water. It lasted him about 90 minutes

    I tend to lean towards more that Christ was married IMO. Why would he have it broadcast to the world? God hasn't exactly shown the world that he's married either.

    Either he was or he wasn't. It's been debated for centuries. The cut off time for when it's going to be a deal breaker for what kind of reward or whatnot you get in the after life is still yet to come.
