Second Coming, soooooooo many questions
Blackmarch replied to nuclearfuels's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
1. No idea, but term generation has/can have more meaning than tiers of descendants. 2 i think the idea is more for the singular family, and so that it can be enough to hold you over till you can be able to obtain more reliably so that the family can live. I think (if i remember right)the avg time between jobs was something like 3 to six months for people who are fired/released, and bigger disasters tend to take a while in recovering from so 12 mo worth gives extra on top of that it seems like so maybe its being doubly prepared? 3.Well generally nowadays theres usually an announcement somewhere about where an apostle is going to be visiting.... Keep your ears out for two of em to be in isreal, doubly so if fighting is going on or starts up while they are there. Interesting point with the mission pres bit. 4. Well most things god does/gives tends to be symbolic on some level... I dont think thats his goal with numbers, but he does communicate with people in a manner that they understand so i wouldn't be surprised if the day he comes will have some meaning to someone somewhere..... However it will be a day that catches the majority if not all by surprise. -
Also if youre the head of a family thats in the kajillions to the nth degree.... Id wager you could get a few things done by giving directions to those who are under you.

God rested the seventh day and made it holy.

Well we are to acknowledge his hand in all things... However the extent thereof i have no idea. Athiesm has a whole spectrum from wishful/positive agnosticism to extreme anti religion. The spirit will strive with man where ever it can do so. I think often enough a lot of the succsess comes from the consequence of actions.

http://www.romans322.com/daily-death-rate-statistics.php If we are going to paint the whole system with the worst of the worst, lets not limit ourselves to just police.
-
because not all PDs are exactly the same or have exactly the same regulations or training, nor do all police occurrences happen in the exact same spot with the exact same people, with the exact same contexts or exact same situations.

etiquette and honor are still big things there. entertainment is a form of escape. face value last video i saw was about half swordin- how to grip a razor sharp sword with your hands to either direct the point through the other guys visor or to use the guard as a hammer. (used against armored opponents)

ya it sounds like it's edging towards a disorder sort of thing.... well for one thing i'd stop looking up the cases that sounds like an enabler feedback loop you are doing to yourself. - find something else to fill that time. try to find something that comforts you. I'd also suggest a lot of prayer. if you can't seem to get it under control then ya talking to a professional might be a good idea. Figure out how to untrain yourself. generally its when a habit or action gets to the point where it significantly interferes with your daily life is when it gets considered to be a disorder. so if you find something that allows you to live with it or negate it mentally in some fashion then use it (dunno maybe park in shade, leave some windows cracked... perhaps implement a system that is more involved than just looking at a sticker.... a professional would probably have a better idea on how to deal with these sort of mental things).

get seperate rooms. it's safer- even if you and your befriend don't do anything wrong, it removes the possibility being accused of doing something wrong..... and you won't have your conscious nagging you all the way through the temple.

problem is when it's the inmates running the asylum.

generally when one percieves being bullied/persecuted etc... generally theres a few routes that tend to occur, either self harm or lashing out or getting in with something like a gang. sometimes ball the above. Quite frankly i'm pretty impressed we don't see more of that with the muslim population considering how much they are getting singled out in media and etc...

can murderers hope for anything above the Telestial kingdom?
Blackmarch replied to Backroads's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
can a murderer ever hope for such? well the lamanites could. Can someone who knew the gospel and broke covenants in murdering hope for more? No idea. I havent found anything that says King David was forgiven of such. I wouldn't bet on it, but if we are to be christlike then we are to help such an individual be able to come back to christ as much as is possible and hope for the best. -
Prisonchaplain's take on the devil
Blackmarch replied to prisonchaplain's topic in Christian Beliefs Board
this thread got me to have a think. I wonder as a master of squishing a lie between two truths, the devil is careful on selecting which truths to use so that when we do reject him, if there will be a chance we will reject the truth parts that he uses to disguise his poison. -

Prisonchaplain's take on the devil
Blackmarch replied to prisonchaplain's topic in Christian Beliefs Board
As I understand things, an Angel is a servant/messenger of God (and more in a specific sense than a general)- the ones that delivered messages to individuals in the bible were human (or destined to be born human). No clue about Cherubim or any of the heavenly characters/beings/creatures that get mentioned in the bible. What an angel is to God, a demon is to the devil. Demon is a good enough word for me to describe those who choose to specifically follow the Devil in all things. interestingly this account of the war in heaven only has a couple mentions in the bible... but shows up in many other old cultures. -
Prisonchaplain's take on the devil

that is important. and part of his putting his throne over God's was taking all of ours and making it his. edit - continue. free will is more important than we know. In being Just if God created the freedom that allowed Christ to use his will of himself to do the greatest thing in mankind's existence, then he would have to extend that freedom to anyone that existed in that realm(s), including those who would try to go the polar opposite of Christ. -

on the serious note, it could have been something that got deleted before you could respond to it, it could be something that you already saw in one window , but didn't get updated in another. -

Stuff you think about - naming church schools
Blackmarch replied to dahlia's topic in General Discussion
well if we start one over in palmyra, probably be a good chance for a smith university there...... but good question i don't really know what goes into naming considerations- altho with all the byu stuff, it's because the one in provo was named after Brigham, and all the other brigham schools are considered an extension of that school. the only other names i've heard are from leaders who've supported whatever school/or department signficantly. -

gremlins. -
sooner or later everyone will be free, save for those who go to outer darkness. That freedom will certainly only come on conditions of following Christ.... and I don't see how anyone is going to get out of being baptised and still be able to take upon the name of Christ to whatever degree.

well i'll let you carry the lightning pole this time around.

More accurately for when a government decides to wage war against it's own citizens, as well as for defense any foreign invasion.... There are many other laws to help reign in injustice in the gov. these incidents are not enough to go to arms for... it is only when there is absolutely no other recourse to remain free- and even in situations where that would have been justified in the past the saints chose to leave or move rather than pursue force of arms. Also. the second amendment has been so borked by both proponents for and against it as to render it almost meaningless in the view of defense of the above- and is by now more a golden calf than anything else since the end of WWII. However, It still has some value for defense against small crime. open carry is just begging for shooting incidents to occur due to misunderstanding. An open carry law might work all right in a small town where about everyone knows each other.... but once you get to the big cities and massive populations, it's not a good idea. police officers are authorized to defend themselves and to neutralize active threats to the community(depending on the situation). You aren't. If you kill a police officer in self defense you are going to need an extremely tight case against that officer, supposing you get the drop on the officer who is likely better armed and better trained than you are which means more than likely it will be you that ends up 6 feet under should you choose to resist and/or start an altercation. But if you are successful you will have to have both a tight case against the officer, as well as a thoroughly correct assessment of the situation, the officers intent, character and etc, to a very unlikely degree. If it's outside your home or while the officer is on duty the odds are greatly further against you. Taking this route is most likely to get you killed and if you survive a good deal of time behind bars. 99.99% of the time it's better to get cuffed, shut up, get taken to the detention and get your lawyer.
