  1. LOL HOW did you KNOW?
  2. Zuko, you are being faithful and doing just as you should. If you want to finish your degree, I think it's a good idea. A degree can help your family so much. You don't want to wait too too long to have a baby, 22 is still pretty young but if you want to have more :) your hubby can be there when you have others if he gets deployed while you are going through it. A friend of mine had a military spouse and they had 4 while being stationed in Germany and the hubby couldn't be there for any of it...the kids got bigger, he was honorably discharged and they had one more and he was there for all of that pregnancy and toddlerhood. NOt saying you should start right away, but if you do decide to start before the 8 years or whatever are up, you can always have more :) I love kids. You will be blessed for your faithfulness in continuing to come to church, the Lord loves you very much. I am sure he will let you know when it is time. You might think about going to the temple in prayer when you are deciding whether or not to start. IF Hannah could get an answer in the temple, so can you. You are a beloved daughter of your Heavenly Father, and he is concerned for you and will give you answers to the questions in your heart...not just on an internet forum...as great as it is, it's not THAT great.
  3. So did you see your SP this Sunday? Did you guys make up and make nice?
  4. It wasn't Google ninjas....it was me....I"M SORRY RANDOM CITIZEN!!!!!!!!!!! Vort that was mean
  5. Having families is not making things harder. Having a family should be what makes it worth it. You have family that you care about and yet you are not able to be with them in the celestial kingdom because of the relationship you have created with this man. In order to repent you have to feel godly sorrow for what you have done. You are obviously still nuturing a relationship with this other man. You still consider leaving your family and running away with him, you have created an unhealthy obsession over him and romanticized this unclean mockery of a relationship....this is not godly sorrow. The first step is to recognize that what you have done is wrong. If you are truly repentant you will want to do whatever the Lord asks to make this right again. Part of that is going to be ending this 'connection' the two of you have made. This 'connection' the two of you have created has hurt two families already, and will have consequences for generations, whether you confess to it now or later, all things will be made known and brought out in the light at some point. The commandment to not commit adultry is not conditional, there is no justification for it...it is not okay if you think he is a lousy husband, if you have a high s-x drive, or if he has cheated first, the covenant you made in the temple was not to him, it was to your Heavenly Father. The covenant you have broken was not to your husband....and his behavior or lack of love does not release you from your temple covenant to only have these kind of relations with your spouse. Do you want to meet your Savior with this hanging over your head? Do you or do you not want to be with your children and grandchildren for eternity? Now is the time to get moving on this before it is too late. Do not procrastinate the day of your repentence. Go to see your bishop. You can be clean of this and washed free of it. You have already been given this advice, you have already been given comfort, now is the time to act on it.
  6. I don't think the ethanol drip would be a wow issue, but the anitfreeze would!
  7. And you don't really have to 'down' the ethanol, they put it in an IV drip
  8. paahhhh, no, but alchol consumption does stop contractions, before fetal alcohol syndrome was discovered it was common practice to give an alcohol IV drip to women in preterm labor, so it was actually not unusual for my dr. to ask me to drink some wine every evening. yuck. I decided I'd rather have her early, I did everything else I could think of though, and made it a couple of months but when I was a couple weeks early we barely made it to the hospital in time :) She was fine
  9. I actually have had a dr. tell me to drink alcohol, when I was pregnant and having contractions way too early...do you think I did it? Does the WOW say anything about alcohol, have our leaders told us anything about drinking alcohol and the word of wisdom? Now, have they said anything anything at all about using prescribed marijuana? what about prescribed morphine (which I have had) which is extremely addictive, even after only one dose for many people? Was it against the WOW? Did I lose my recommend? Did my hubby wink at that one, or protest in any way? Not a word, he did not say anything, not a frown, in fact he later asked if I thought I needed more. Here is a talk from a session of conference, in it M. Russell Ballard says this: "Now, brothers and sisters, please don’t misunderstand what I am saying. I’m not questioning prescription medications for those suffering with treatable illness or great physical pain. They are indeed a blessing. What I am saying is that we need to carefully follow the doses prescribed by doctors. And we need to keep such medications in a safe place where youngsters or anyone else cannot gain access to them." O That Cunning Plan of the Evil One - general-conference Now if I used that morphine on my own, with no prescription, that would be a wow issue. That would be abusing an prescription drug....one that is not mentioned on any Ensign article I can find, or mentioned by any church leader I have heard, but drug abuse none the less. We have been counseled not to use marijuana, but not when talking about it being under the direction of a doctor to be treated for something.
  10. On this topic, here is an article my hubby posted on our facebook page.. Worthless women and the men who make them
  11. As long as you are using it legally there is not a problem...tell your bishop though. Use is according to your perscription and there should not only be no WOW issues, but no recommend issues with that as well. Thank you for serving our country, and I hope you begin to recover soon. I was suffering with some PTDS issues for a long time, for a different reason and no where close to the extent you currently are, and I do know that getting some decent sleep is the hardest part. PTSD can get better, it got considerably better for me after I was baptized and even more so when I received the Holy Ghost. I know it sounds strange, but once you start feeling a bit more safe, get some new friends go back to college classes or start a new hobby...it is good to get your mind on some new things to churn around, and can help keep your focus away from bad memories. I won't say to replace the bad ones with good ones, because we don't work that way, but it is good for the good ones to outnumber the bad ones, and I do know that can take a long time.
  12. I don't know about your state, but in my state if you can prove that you are the sole supporter of your grandchild and that their well-being is based on you providing/caring for them (like their parents live with you and don't have dependable jobs) you can apply for custody of them. A friend of mine has done that with one of her grandchildren. Her grandson lives with her, and the mom and dad had to get jobs to pay her child support, after moving out. IF they ever clean themselves up and become responsible she can always undo the custody.
  13. Yep, I would love to go there and check that out...a newspaper headline in Paris "Crazy US woman crawls on floor in local shop"
  14. Here is a good link on worship: Bible Pattern of Worship - New Era Mar. 1973 - new-era We need to be aware of what we worship, here is a paragraph from that link on lds.org that I think is very significant: There has always been the temptation to worship “the creature more than the Creator.” (Rom. 1:25.) We worship what we give our hearts to. Jesus said: “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Luke 12:34.) If we love the things of this world more than we love God, we will worship the devil and receive his rewards. If we reject Satan as Christ did and worship only God, we will receive God’s blessings upon us and our family.
  15. 1.5 years from when...I need to make travel plans to attend a certain baptism :)
  16. Why did you make me push a woman down?
  17. The only things Satan can create are Chaos and Misery, nothing tangible. He is not tangible and cannot rule over anything tangible. He can influence people to create things, but they will always work out to be to our good. He is kinda always shooting himself in the foot with that one. He is predictable to the point that Jesus knew Judas would betray Him with a kiss, Adam and Eve would eventually eat that fruit, etc. Don't worry, God's got this. Since everyone who has ever had a body will be resurrected, they will have that advantage, but they won't be able to use it for anything...being cast into outer darkness, if they previously held the priesthood they will no longer have it. More evil than Satan, hmmm well in a certain sense, I think one with a body has a certain disadvantage in that when you are there, everyone with eyes can see you, Satan cannot be seen or heard or smelt, or otherwise detected...so in some ways it could be a negative if you are up to no good and want to blame it on someone else or hope they will blame it on themselves, or convince them that you do not exist at all...you loose the sneak factor if you get my meaning.
  18. Here is a quote from the minutes that I find particularly noteworth in this respect: Mrs. [Elizabeth Davis] Durfee bore testimony to the great blessing she received when administered to after the close of the last meeting, by Prest. E. Smith & Councillors Cleveland and Whitney. she said she never realized more benefit thro’ any administration— that she was heal’d, and thought the sisters had more faith than the brethren and again after the very next meeting: The meeting clos’d with prayer by Mother Smith and singing by the choir— after which Mrs. Leonard was administered to for the restoration of health, by Councillors Cleveland & Whitney. The Councillors were the two sisters who were councilors to RS Pres. Emma Smith. Nauvoo Relief Society Minute Book - Details And later the Prophet joins the meeting to speak and says of the laying on of hands by the sisters: "Respecting the female laying on hands, he further remark’d, there could be no devils in it if God gave his sanction by healing— that there could be no more sin in any female laying hands on the sick than in wetting the face with water— that it is no sin for any body to do it that has faith, or if the sick has faith to be heal’d by the administration. He reprov’d those that were dispos’d to find fault with the management of concerns— saying if he undertook to lead the church he would lead it right— that he calculates to organize the church in proper order &c." Nauvoo Relief Society Minute Book - Details
  19. Concerning sisters following the pattern of the priesthood, I have been reading the minutes book from the original Relief Society meetings. They are available through the church website, and can be read Nauvoo Relief Society Minute Book - Summary "On 17 March 1842, JS first formally organized Latter-day Saint women in a group with distinct responsibilities and authority. At JS’s invitation, twenty women assembled in the large room above his dry goods store in Nauvoo, Illinois, to be organized, as one woman recalled his description, “under the priesthood after the pattern of the priesthood” (Sarah M. Kimball, “Auto-biography,” Woman’s Exponent, 1 Sept. 1883, 51). Priesthood quorums—units of men assembled according to priesthood office and usually headed by a president and two counselors—had been organized previously. The women assembled on 17 March elected JS’s wife Emma Hale Smith president, and she selected two counselors; a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles ordained or set apart the three-member presidency to their new callings or offices. These were the first ecclesiastical positions in the church for women." If you read the pages following you will find that the Prophet Joseph Smith instructed the sisters to organize the RS to follow the pattern from the priesthood. He described the sisters as being 'ordained' it is all very interesting if you get a chance to read it.
  20. Lets' BRING it back!! I hardly ever wish for something....that's it let's start something Everybody, when you see a lovely, kind, modest girl, tell at least 3 people that she is pretty, this can spread fast. In fact I have pink toenails right this minute! My hubby thinks I prettiest in my temple dress :) 'Hot' girls make him very nervous, you know the ones I'm talking about, well, the ones that currently try to present themselves as hot anyway. If one approached him, I sincerely think he would peel their hand off and run, anywhere...and shower afterward, and brush his teeth, and write her a letter telling her how he is sure God loves her for who she is and how she does not need that type of 'love' to make her feel better. And then he would mail it, and aviod her until she recovered from her insanity, to keep from tempting her into behaving that way again. he he he^_^ He is such a sweetie, it took 6 months to get him to hold my hand in public
  21. huge discount, like half off. slippers, well, I had serious serious arch pain. I went to a specialist and ended up getting steroid shots and wearing a boot. So, when I went to the temple I got some arch supports from my doctor's office stuck it on my foot, pulled my white stocking over the top of it to make it stay...and put my slippers on top of that. I know, they probably wouldn't care about my stupid boot, but I did. I was SICK of that thing and did not want to clunk around the temple in it, that's for sure. Worked fine....why? You don't have to walk for long in the temple at all...you don't stand for long periods...you sit, a lot, and the carpet is comfy. Notice that the slippers are not made of ultra durable materials, and yet they last for years, literally years, why? They don't get a lot of wear and tear. I got mine from WM though, and they have soles on them, thin ones, because I clean the temple a lot and like a little traction when I am mopping floors in the baptistry area. You might want to think about wrinkling issues, especially living so far from your temple. You don't want to be pulling it out of your bag and not be able to recognize it for the wrinkles. Also my first one zipped up the back which made it very difficult for me to zip since I am very well ahem, endowed, I like the ones that zip up the front as they are much easier and faster to get on/off. If you don't have a lot of arm reach you may want to consider this. Let's talk static. I find static to be annoying in the extreme. When I am buying clothing, static is a deal-breaker for me. A slip with a temple dress on top, shuffling around in slippers on carpet mucho static...downy spray/wrinkle remover...I put some in a travel-size spray bottle and spray it on my slip/underside of my dress. It helps a lot with the static. You can also just use some liquid fabric softener thinned out with some water (though after a while it will clog up the spray head). Pockets, you want to have at least one pocket, I like two. I put the name I'm doing in one, and other necessary things in another. I have seen some slips that have a pocket near the bottom hem, that would be handy. Lockers have a key that you will need to carry on you somewhere. Also a tissue/handkerchief if you are likely to tear up. ...and mints/cough drops if your throat tends to get itchy. A lot of temples use de-humidifiers, with all the patrons moving through they like to keep the air dry to avoid a sweaty/close feeling atmosphere, and while this is a great idea, it creates static and it can make you cough. A discreet little tic tac is good, but if you need something stronger, like a true cough drop, don't feel bad a lot of sisters use them. There is nothing like hacking in the middle of an endowment session. Don't forget your camera, you will probably want pictures of your big day!!! If you do forget something and you don't realize it till you get there, tell your temple worker! They are so prepared for any little setback. They have been around and can tackle just about any problem you might have that comes up. Believe me, they are so thrilled when someone comes for their own endowments, if they weren't so holy they would argue about which one gets to help you most. :) When you do call to order your dress and you tell them it is your first one, they are probably going to ask if you know your measurements, if you don't, they will ask your clothing sizes. And relax, It's going to be great!!!
