I don't think it would happen regardless :/ It takes asking, seeking, knocking. This seems like an opportunity to be given, for people to find. There are also some in this world that don't even know to ask, or seek. It provides and opportunity for the holy ghost to testify to them. Also there are a great many documentaries about various people and cultures, that are watched by other various people and culture, it's not just members who are seeing the film. I have an acquaintance that got back from their mission, and people without contact with church members sought out the church because of the film. The same thing has happened because of the BOM musical... I'm sure the same thing will happen with people getting DVD's. Also I don't think the documentary counts as Gospel, and as such isn't liable to the same problems as those who preach for profit and gain. That's my opinion at least.

I have a few questions, some what rhetorical. Are profits good, bad, both, neutral? Why does this make a difference to you? Do you see it as some sort of trickle down priestcraft? If an independent company wouldn't make money off of selling a service would they? Probably not. Considering this, the premise that they probably wouldn't sell if they didn't make a profit, And Assuming that more people would likely see the movie/buy the movie because it is provided among more non-demographic specific stores. Would you prefer that individuals who might be moved upon by the holy spirit not have the opportunity to learn and hear about a peculiar people and thus lead them to the Gospel? Some people seek out the church on their own accord without being lead by missionaries and members, but by the holy ghost. I see this as another opportunity for those who seek to find.

One thing that has been really been bothering me...

If you really want I could look up some research on caffeine, coffee and tea, and potentially bad effects from taking them if you want. I could also look up the potentially good effects too PrisonChaplin summed it up pretty well though. -
Many types of open source software which is free, can be repackaged(compiled) and sold by a company, So long as the source is provided free of charge. Is it wrong? Not really. Some people will only buy a product (as in get it only if they Have to pay) even if a free alternative exists. (Like some of my family members and anti-virus software) Independent for profit companies excel at distribution. Seeing as there is a variance of price, I would guess that this is the case.

It's a matter of perspective, when looking at the whole 1/4 or 1/6 is insignificant. When looking at it in part it becomes much more significant. Which perspective do you think he was coming from? Even with a loss, Christ's church still had a very very profound impact on human civilization, any move in the right direction is progress.

The work of God can not be over come, Even with up's and downs along the journey in the end when all is done will the church will prevail.

I can tell you this, an elderly person in my family latched on to the idea that we were doing what we were counseled against in conference. Apparently video games are bad. (Quite a few of us were playing multi-player games, basically online hide and go seek, together as a family both member and non-member) Missed the point I think, It wasn't church or sacrament and it's certainly just as bad as playing card games....Card games get pretty contentious in my family. At least we seem to get along with the computer games. I wonder why that is. hmm <-(Truly do wonder why it is)

Well no strictly formal signs like the sign of the cross. I would suggest that CTR rings, and more subtle actions such as dressing not to shock/scandal, abstaining from drugs and generally good behavior might very well be considered a sign. Though as with all people this isn't always true.

When did Jesus receive the Holy Ghost?
Crypto replied to askandanswer's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I thought this short video, was relevant to the discussion. Patterns of Light: Discerning light https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDEXQ-GTYTs&feature=iv&src_vid=fycvkAhYz1I&annotation_id=annotation_663210 -
It is likely set by a cookie that is on your computer. That means it is your computer that remembers. (Could be wrong, that is commonly how it is done though)

When did Jesus receive the Holy Ghost?
Crypto replied to askandanswer's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Whoops! Okay I'm embarrassed! Luke 2:40 But the mistake still sorta works, If John can be filled with the Holy Ghost from birth so can Jesus. And as skalenfehl mentioned there is a difference between the ordinance where you receive the gift of the holy ghost, and the Holy Ghost being with you! Jesus didn't need to be baptized to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost. -

And baptism is in part the joining of an individual to the church, and the bride groom. (Sorta symbolic like a marriage.) Which also connects to all the other symbols! -

Flood, rebirth, baptism, and the dove; Seeing these symbols and a feminine connection to them is not wrong. I see a strong connection. I do think the voice in 2 Peter 1:17, among other scripture implies the voice was the father. -

Unless there is some reason to believe one scripture fits better than another scripture I think this line of thought leads to a "I don't know" conclusion.

I believe you can play the audio while you read, Or just listen to it, Or just read it. (Though i've had to turn pages to catch up when just listening to the audio)

This is generally true, but not always, and not exactly for the reasons you state. The medical diagnosis of addiction can occur for a wide variety of behavior. Here is a list of diagnostic criteria, if three are fulfilled a diagnosis for substance dependence(addiction) might be applied. ToleranceWithdrawalContinued use despite harmLoss of controlAttempts to cut downSalienceReduced involvement Caffeine easily fulfills two of the categories, Tolerance and Withdrawal. There are and have been cases when other categories have been fulfilled. It's not common, but it is possible to be diagnosed with caffeine addiction. Addiction normally has more to do with having an "addictive personality" than the choice of poison.

I'm not sure this is a correct interpretation either. Read Genesis 18 about the story of Sodom and Gomorrah https://www.lds.org/scriptures/ot/gen/18 The lord was willing to spare the city if even 10 righteous people could be found. The Lord is merciful, the decision on when it is time to show mercy is up to him.

I don't have any information, but this does seem like a very fascinating subject.

Actually i'm pretty sure caffeine does have an effect of dopaminergic systems. http://examine.com/supplements/Caffeine/ While not to the same extent as other substances, and more context dependent on effects. For the sake of discussion, drugs can be Addictive, Emotional dependence, or Physically dependent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_dependence http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_dependence Caffeine use can definitely develop into a physical dependence. If you have heard people talk about how they must have their morning coffee, that is a side effect of their physical dependence. Because of how it works on dopamine It can be slightly addictive in the right circumstances.

You said It would appear that, that requirement you have stated yourself, has begun to happen. Whether it actually fulfills God's requirements or not I have no idea.
