  1. Some problems could be caused by evil spirits, others from disease. I see no reason to reject both.
  2. I've noticed dictionary definitions of topics that the talk covers is used on occasion.
  3. I'm not sure where you are growing up, but I was surrounded by vulgar language. It's something you learn to tolerate, even if it is not appreciated. Just a little food for thought, The bible is filled with stories that involve sex, adultery, violence, strong words of condemnation.... This doesn't stop us from reading the bible. Here is what I ask you, and you should ask the teacher, Does this book glorify the vulgar, or tell a story that can be contemplated, have a good moral, and ponders the human condition. If the book seems to be smutty, or promoting evil, by all means voice your concerns. For what it is worth I have read into the wild and found it to be a thought provoking book.
  4. The important thing is to have a consistent sleep schedule...unfortunately we humans operate on 25 hours rather than 24 hours, which can cause some problems. A little bit of caffeine in the morning may help, changing sleep schedules, it generally has a half life of 5-16 hours (depending on person, I go with 6 hours) It boosts alertness by blocking adenosine which causes fatigue. However as a side effect when the caffeine wears off there can be a build up of adenosine, which means more tiredness. Dosing is person specific considering most people have bulit a tolerance to caffeine. If you generally don't consume caffeine a soda may do the trick (30mg to 60mg generally) all the way up to coffee and energy drinks (200mg+ per cup generally) So in summary Caffeine has two good usages with changing your sleep cycle, #1 It keeps you awake #2 If you time it right it helps you go to sleep earlier. Melatonin may also help with falling to sleep earlier, which may help waking up earlier. Don't use electronics and strong lighting during the evening...and talking to a doctor could be of help (rather than some random internet person.) Also expect it to take a week when changing your circadian rhythms related to sleep. Slowly reduce caffeine usage throughout the week until the new schedule has become a habit. (If there are reservations about using caffeine then don't use it...)
  5. Luckily i'm not too argumentative about this topic, or maybe it's just not argumentative today ;P I'll go with that, sounds good
  6. I like going to sleep at 5:30 a.m....
  7. There are studies that point to opposing conclusions. It's not that I proclaim every study each on either side as biased and bad science. Just that with the current data set it's inconclusive. (Largely due to the politics around the issue no doubt) If I had to make a personal decision, I would support a traditional family upbringing. Except, if the environment is not loving and caring, abusive etc.., in which case living with Uncle Sam, The Grandparents, or an Adoptive family might be better.
  8. From what i've read, mixed results from different studies that follow the bias of those involved. However we do know that children thrive best in a loving and supportive family.
  9. My only question with this is that, when taking an economics class it was suggested that minimum wage also contributes to inflation. So even ignoring questions about market equilibrium points (and political reasons such as hidden taxes), would fixing minimum wage to inflation create a self feedback loop ever increasing inflation. Not that some inflation is bad, but how much inflation would it cause, and would it do more good than harm? Serious questions.
  10. Either your with US, or THEM. And if you aren't....UH OH....then no one has your back. I think social justice is mis-aimed pretty consistently, regardless of the period of history...it's actually kinda depressing.
  11. I'm going to leave God to judge this one. I don't think suicide should be encouraged though.
  12. I agree. God seems to like to make people a Covenant people. That's what it is all about.
  13. I've definitely heard most of these quotes before, but am terrible at connecting names to quotes Mark Twain?
  14. My father converted even after knowing about the anti stuff. When thinking back, growing up I remember being told briefly about various details that some say they were lied about. I wonder if it has to do with while in primary me telling my parents I was going to decode the facsimiles in the BoA because there were sections that didn't have explanations. (and ironically my username is somewhat related to decoding )
  15. Shhh we don't want people catching onto the conspiracy
  16. Rather than linking through Facebook, you can link directly to usatoday instead.
  17. The timing of the prayer is pretty miraculous. {Lol, I just thought about how my comment could potentially be misunderstood. It is a remarkable miracle.}
  18. It can be hard to attend church when in the wilderness. If feasible then yes, generally.
  19. I'm going to poke this thread with a figurative stick , because I'm not sure. I don't quite like the idea of the death penalty...except in the case of extreme crimes...even then i'm not sure if i'm for it or against it.
  20. I think a fair portion of whether things require disciplinary action stem from an action being wrong or people feeling it's wrong. I don't think you can easily divorce peoples feelings towards this issue and opinions on disciplinary action. Other than the handbook doesn't say there may be disciplinary action. The handbook doesn't recommend it, i'm sure there are ways in which you could cause yourself to get disciplinary action taken, but that would not be in the context of normally constituted surrogacy now'a'days.
  21. Catnip, Catnip essential oils it works magic.
  22. You wanting sushi makes me want some wasabi. :)

  24. You haven't seen me arguing about knitting apparently B)
  25. This is going to screw up tracing your family history genetically through the maternal line for some. Because they use mitochondrial DNA for that. (Sorry guy's you don't contribute Mitochondrial DNA to your children) Guy's will still be able to trace the patriarchal line via their Y chromosome though. I don't think most people utilize DNA testing for tracing heritage though, so maybe probably minimal impact.
