The Scripture Trivia Thread (use in case of dead forum)
Crypto replied to skalenfehl's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I've found this app called Quizup, when I feel in the mood for it I do trivia on the bible, old testament, new testament. For those who like trivia I thought I would just mention it. (You will only find the Book of Mormon and LDS Trivia Here!) -
My wife has decided to leave the church.

This really depends on how you and her see the money. If it is considered both of yours "ours", you will need to find some sort of compromise or agreement. If it is viewed as a wage for being a mother her argument is valid (which sounds like a horrible proposition to me). If the money is considered yours, then it is up to you. You indicated that it is probably either #1 or #2. As with any disagreements both of you will need to communicate with each other to express how you feel about things and see how to move forward. -
Warm welcome.

Just out of curiosity, is there any reason you like this thread soo much?

Um, I don't think Studio Ghibli shows were based off of Disney. Disney did buy the rights for the shows in the United States.

This sounds like she has little to no trust in men. This extreme jealousy make me wonder what her experience with her male relatives was like. What Jane_Doe stated is very relevant. You can choose to confront her about this issue now, later, or never. If you never bring up your concerns or disagreements cozy up to the strong likelihood that this behavior will be persistent. Since you are posting here find a nice minimally conflict inducing way to talk to her about these issues. Communication is needed to resolve any conflict, even if it can hurt. You might even ask your bishop about lds family services. I strongly recommend finding a good marriage councilor, to help mediate with any family planning, and issues. This would be a good time to bring up what proper boundaries are between you and others (such as any future children). And if your wife does have unresolved past issues, find a competent psychiatrist, to help. -
That's actually pretty cute sounding.

You could always take up a less time consuming activity. I would recommend doodling, yes doodling is a good activity. I even believe there have even been studies saying how doodling is good for people. And the best thing about doodling is you can even do it at work*, between TV advertisements, and even at the Dinner table 'GASP. The best thing about it is it ONLY takes a Few seconds to successfully Doodle! Share the doodles today, make someone smile! *well maybe only certain types of work

I've never heard of Dehlinites. Is that an actual thing, or just a phraseology? Yes I've read the article on him

uh oh, here we go again. -
If I remember correctly, I believe that in the past Christ, who is Jehovah, presented himself in the name of the father, Elohim. On occasion this causes for a much more difficult read.

Where is aquamarine? yellow ochre? I think some of these color names are being made up. (pouts)

I am aware of this lol. It's just that no matter how much you try to mix paint to get white, you can't do it that way. And gray is a step closer to white than say Blue is anyway. (at least imo)

Remorse, Guilt & Shame, what are they?

It could also be along the lines of being borderline. -

Have you ever felt embarrassed, bad, or depressed? Remorse is when you feel bad for doing something, such as harming another person. Guilt is like being embarrassed, but not quite so anxious but depressed and I'll/bad. Have you ever felt these or other emotions? You might consider seeing a psychologist/psychiatrist, especially if you have problems interacting emotionally with other people, and lack of such emotions causes disruptions in others and your life. This may be indicative of an illness, you would have to see a professional to find out. -
When I was small I was introduced to the pigment mixing paint model of color. Then my parents told me white was all colors, but for some reason I could only mix gray. Gray is almost white. It's when you mix white and black together...or red, blue, and yellow... Lets just say, to this day I have yet to successfully mix a perfect white value. The closest I can get to mixing white is gray. Even knowing what white is, via physics and light waves and the responsiveness of the eye to light...I still haven't been able to do it. It reminds me of this verse in Isaiah. Even knowing what righteousness is, we still can't quite mix the colors of godliness together and come out with clean garments. Christ isn't like bleach, it's a new can of paint [it's a parable, so yes I understand that there is a physical reason for the mixing of paint not working]

What I stated had little to nothing to do with the retention of wealth versus lack and therefore starvation and the morality of such. It had to do with righteous judgement, and was relevant to the original topic. As such your response to me does not follow. The underlined portion is relevant. Judgement on what people appear, or have and have not, is a superficial judgement. A judgement on appearance*. Does a person have skin. Does a person have [amount of] money. Passing judgement based on such an assertion is what I am referring to. *note rather than sticking to the strict denotative definition i'm using what seems to be a accurate to my understanding and more inclusive connotative definition of the word "appearance" have can be replaced with have not, and can be expanded to include other things of outward appearance.

Black is colorlessness. White is the brilliance of all the colors. As a funny thought, I like wearing white, which is all the colors, like a rainbow, but not.

I don't quite understand this line of thinking, please forgive me if i'm being one of those people who just don't understand :/ You see the way I think about things is i've had really low moments in life, and even if I tend to be withdrawn the times that are up feel better. I am who I am, not because of how I am, but who I choose to be. Treatment for a broken leg doesn't change who I am, I see depression similarly.
