From what you are suggesting, It seems like I would get more out of church by just lingering long enough to participate in sacrament and then sit in the lobby and self studying the gospel, or staying at home.
-
So what would you propose as an ideal situation for all to be able to have focus. Let me list a few possibilities. Don't craft at all. If you have trouble concentrating to bad? Craft, but use some discretion don't be obvious. (Juggling is obvious, knitting is not)? Who cares, do what you want? Did I miss other options? [edit: My moblie device just went haywire]

Church and temple services are not comparable. Temple ritual has multiple modes of teaching, visually, auditory, and kinesthetic elements. Most church lessons use only one, for a strongly kinesthetic learner with extremely weak learning preferences in visual and auditory, It is difficult for me to retain anything said or shown without tying it into one of my stronger modes for learning (for me this would be reading, or a simple activity) I do try and keep my learning experience as inconspicuous and non-distracting for others, but please try and have a little compassion. I'm not uninterested or distracted from the meeting. (Can you tell this topic hits a personal note :) ) Also I'd like to note cellphones, books, games etc are not acceptable imo

Church will start sending e-mails to members

The email I used for my lds account is what ended up in our ward directory that can be viewed online by logging into my lds account. All I can say is hmm. If it doesn't automatically get put there that means someone else did, and it certainly wasn't me. So I was under the impression that lds account and the corresponding online ward directory would be the same. -
Is it possible to be conservative and LDS?
Crypto replied to prisonchaplain's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I liked your post, simply because I found the other thread dismissive of people, and much can be said against conservative views that might also be contrary to the gospel. Gospel is not defined by political party.- 29 replies

I've seen a few people use powershell. From the looks it's actually pretty similar to a Linux shell in capabilities....just the Microsoft branded way of doing things. There was/is some malware moving about that uses/used powershell scripting to propagate amongst windows servers.

I wouldn't worry to much about meetings starting 2-5 minutes late. A few minutes is completely reasonable and the Bishop mingling and being welcoming to others can also be a good thing. Much more than 5 minutes persistently is when it starts to be troubling. There aren't going to be strict rules on open or shut doors and prelude music, but I would agree with you that such things would be helpful for setting the correct spirit to start the meeting.

The important thing is moderation. Use it as an opportunity to teach. If they learn how to protect themselves from the negatives of online and social media they will be better prepared than if not. You could always try to find a compromise, such as an account, but one that is shared with parents at first. Or a password that only the parents know so they can monitor what is going on, and when. As they learn more, give them more responsibility.

So not Yin and Yang per say, but taking the idea of balance between forces and applying it.

In addition to the wand being a focus maybe certain vocalizations or language patterns have more magical affinity, thus it would be harder to make a spell pointer via English than Latin, or ancient greek (since some of the spells in the hp universe are not based on Latin). Sounds, or differences in how you think via language could also act as a method of focusing the mutable energy source called magic.

Taking the same symbol with differing context an meaning and merging them? Sounds good to me :-) -
Funny how the Linux people seem to be talking the most about IE.

I actually abandoned ubuntu in favor of fedora since the new unity desktop. It ran sluggishly slow for me, and other decisions they made I didn't agree withm

But but, Bells and Whistles, Shiny New Ubuntu! Your not going to tell me that CentOS doesn't continually look dated as a desktop. (Even if it plays more stable)

No one mentions of the parallels to non-biblical stories about Abraham in ancient times? Or the similarities between the Book of Abraham we have and pseudepigraphic works of the Apocalypse of Abraham and Testament of Abraham? What about ancient Egyptian names that he got right?

The newer versions of IE aren't quite as bad as the past ones... but yeah IE is a pain

Hello. :) I just noticed in your signature about keeping lemons, which is cool, because lemons are great for cooking and eating. I like eating lemons! -

While people are mentioning corporate, and government cooperation in espionage. Any Americans heard of Huawei? They are bigger world wide for selling networking equipment, and you won't see much of it in the US. -
My introduction was rather late too haha! I'm not quite sure which is best of the standard 3 color mix, either lime or raspberry for sure though. However it can't compare to the more rare to find mango or strawberry flavors.

I like it, but I've never had to eat it in the sterotypical fruitcake as a brick form. Haven't really had fruitcake too much though so I reserve my right to change my mind

Sherbert, unless i'm around someone I know will make fun of people pronouncing words differently than them, then I'll just ask for sorbet instead ;-)

sxfrits pretty much covered the first part of your questions for me. I'll have to think about the second part. Part of it is the inherent organizational structure where people who are moving into or out of the ward get help, sick or struggling families given meals and gifts. Yet none of this is mandatory and requires individuals to decide to participate as they can. The other part is encouragement of service, and advocating sites like http://www.justserve.org/aboutus/ to help people serve. The other part is when teaching about service contesting some of the excuses for people to not serve.
