Maybe it would be wise to so Would all be a judgement on appearance. Which would be unrighteous. I would add to this list WealthJudging someone on wealth and not what this person is doing with it would be judgement of the appearance of wealth. If we are not to judge on the appearance this would be unrighteous judgement. (which equally applies to the poor and the wealthy) And with all things as some good humble advise Many of the other factors Vort has listed above aren't about appearance, and would not be explicitly condemned.

The only manga i've read is a little bit of Naruto. It seemed alright for the most part. There is violence (ninja's fighting each other) and a little sexual based humor at some parts. I don't know if you would like to read it for those reasons. I've seen several of the Studio Ghibli shows, and they have been very family friendly and good shows. I assume a manga adaptation would be similar.

Help finding a marriage counselor in SLC
Crypto replied to wiresol's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
I'm not trying to be snarky, but i'd start with a phone book. (They still exist right?) -
I think the 49% remark was a major factor against him. I have some Hispanic friends that are livid about illegals, since they came into the country legally, both residents and on visas. (so there are opinions contrary to what a lot of what the media portrays)

You may find some members who disagree. There is no prohibition against it, unless you are talking about abortion.

Your good, a little bit of conflict just means a person is willing to express/defend their beliefs, to be real. Which I can appreciate. (Though you do seem to do it quite often) Them be fighting words!

Maybe for awhile. It would get old really quick though

Sometimes I feel like I have to tip toe around you TFP :)

Maybe not "drives" the action. But is the foundation of action. I take my view based on the lectures on faith.
-
Faith drives to action. That action shows the character, the heart of the person. Knowledge is used, but only occasionally contributes to action, which is still driven by faith. You know [something] is bad for you, but do you really want to stop doing it? That's knowledge^ You have a desire to do better. You change [something]. ^That's faith (Sometimes you don't even know if changing [something] is the right thing to do. You trust, act, and then can testify that through your faith you have changed, and that the fruit of it is sweet.) Maybe simplified much. I hope I have communicated clearly though.

I never knew about the american sherbet, ice cream, legalisms. (or the hush hush sorbet. Buyer Beware!) It does strike me as an awfully american thing to do. Steal the Words! Change the words! Regulate the Products!
-
I find this interesting, because i've heard it said by several people. I find it a bit baffling myself, it seems awfully counter-intuitive. But Cool never the less.

I like this thread.

I bet the federal agents fit right in with their suits and ties!

I would recommend starting with the Book of Mormon. It's how our church started, and was important in the founding of our religion. That makes it pretty important.
-
Boom. Last time I looked there were like 6 posts. I'm not gonna lie, I care more about sherbet than politics B) (That doesn't mean I don't pay attention to politics and have strong opinions as well)

It would be cool to see someone from our religion become president. At the same time regardless of how good or bad a president is they always seem to be criticized...and I can just see the criticism focusing on something other than policy.... He is certainly a better choice than some of the other candidates from his party that like to run for office. (imo)

A-Z Words/Phrases/Sentences That Describe or Refer to Themselves
Crypto replied to Vort's topic in General Discussion
Duplicate? A duplicate of duplicate would fulfill this role? A duplicate would create a copy, both of which can describe the other. [i'm guessing we will be using a loose interpretation of the rules?] -
I agree, freedom of speech would be fairly useless if someone else could arbitrarily choose to end your life. I think for the most part that in the West this type of thing is prevented.
-
I know it hurts, and you likely have a lot of concerns to consider. Take a deep breath, and one thing at a time. It will help I promise you. Hold onto what you do know, when you have felt touched by the spirit. There are people who can help you through this.

War, Death, and Murder is horrific. It should be righteously condemned. However, there are circumstances when such terrible work must needs be carried out. Determining when is a problem in it's own right. Easy answer is defense against an aggressor. Any media is interested in it's own communities and cultures, and as such will inherently have bias towards that. I don't think this is on purpose for the most part, simply a natural extension of a society. An interest in one's own society does not necessarily follow valuing a human life in another culture as less. At the same time, I would say most people in the west hold the value of life regardless of location in high regard. I don't think absolute consensus should be required. I'm not sure freedom of speech and the value of human lives should be dependent on each other. Working with the good you have (freedom of speech) and trying to improve another situation (value of life) seems much more pragmatic.

are the details still being worked out?
Crypto replied to askandanswer's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I'll engage in speculation. The councils if currently ongoing would likely employ a form of abstraction. The plan of salvation would be equivalent to a tree, individual details on an individual dependent on what is currently happening would be equivalent to a leaf. The plan can be worked out in great detail, and still not exact. Like impressionist paintings, you can see the whole picture, but the details can be a bit vague and still make a beautiful and complete picture. Though this depends on the all knowing aspect of who is involved and other such stuff. This of course could be completely wrong. Sources are important since we only know a little of what goes on in the realms of heaven, and many engage in wild speculation on it.(like my post) -

Transgendered Josh Alcorn suicide -- blame the parents?
Crypto replied to prisonchaplain's topic in Current Events
I found the statistics on the issue fascinating. I've never heard about that before, and it certainly has implications on how people likely should make decisions on an issue. I'm going to go look for the studies now.- 25 replies
