I keep thinking about what President Nelson said in April 2019:
“ As President of His Church, I plead with you who have distanced yourselves from the Church and with you who have not yet really sought to know that the Savior’s Church has been restored. Do the spiritual work to find out for yourselves, and please do it now. Time is running out .”
I have been getting promptings from the Holy Spirit that some judgments and violence are going to come upon us in the United States.  I do not know when.
From what I have heard there are some violent uprisings being wickedly planned for the November 2020 elections.  Get your own revelations from the LORD on what you need to do to prepare.  I think Saints and neighbors are going to need to lean on each other for support in days ahead.
And I hope I am wrong in my timeline predictions.  I hate violence and chaos and do not want to see it.

Unity can be problematic. Two sides "water down" to an anemic common denominator. Now they are together, but are weaker than they were apart. Open-minded/heartedness, on the other hand, can be so powerful. Seventh Day Adventists used to be rejected and opposed by most Evangelicals. Today, they are mostly accepted, even though the remain committed to Sabbath-keeping on Saturdays. The Worldwide Church of God, on the other hand, went through horrific internal strife, once its founding leader died. Ultimately, it broke into many sects. However, with God's anointing, and with the loving friendship of Evangelicals with many leaders of that movement, the largest sect (probably over 80% of the movement as a whole) renounced its separatists distinctives and became a fully-orthodox Evangelical church. I'm not sure the Adventists were seeking the level of acceptance they ultimately achieved. Neither do I suspect that Evangelicals were plotting to co-opt the WWCOG. These theological transformations happened because of God's move and some strong, open-minded/hearted relationships.
I do not have anyone here on a spiritual target list. Further, while I am sure many would love to see me convert, none here have openly targeted me (no PMs or sustained and targeted posts of that nature). God's truth will always draw his lovers. We simply bless each other as best we can and let God take care of the rest. If big changes take place, He gets all the glory.

I have no discernment about the dream. However, of course I believe that in the last days God will give dreams and visions. That said, if a dream brings a sense of dread and fear, it may not be from God. She would need to discern that--perhaps with your help.

Well...err...:::cough:::...that would be one of those doctrinal distinctives. Standard Pentecostal teaching remains that once the soul dies it's heaven or hell. So, those who would be pleasantly surprised by the LDS teaching on the state of the dead are not a vanguard of greater unity--they are possible converts.

I've heard of Alpha, and just visited to see who is endorsing it. When you have Rick Warren, Joyce Meyer, and dignitaries from mainline churches (including Catholic) approving, that's a good sign. As I understand it, one goal is to sift out what is basic or essential to Christianity.  While that's a worthy endeavor, the goal of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is to promote missing truths. The church's prophets have some distinct insights not shared by the rest of us. So, while both goals are worthy--striving to sift out non-essentials vs. helping God-worshippers to capture missing truths--I wonder if those two impulses can work simultaneously. My guess is that most LDS (I would be this way if I were a member) would want very much to proclaim, "This  is great, but I know some really great truths that everyone here would be so blessed to receive . . . "

I know I may be blowing up the direction of this string, but, based on the title, two thoughts come to mind.
    1. Yes, we can unite for particular causes. I've mentioned before that Rev. Jerry Falwell (Sr.) embraced LDS participation in his Moral Majority. It is easy to imagine Pentecostals, LDS, and perhaps even other faith communities finding common cause for religious liberty and social-moral efforts.
    2. In terms of actual religious unity, I suspect that we can learn to be more civil, more respectful, more open to each other. We can stop with name-calling, and we can each ask the worst of our faith communities to cease with inappropriate opposition tactics and inflammatory attacks (and yes, Evangelicals--including Pentecostals--bare the greater guilt, probably by far). However, our doctrines remain very distinct, so I am not sure how much spiritual unity--other than mutual kindness and goodness--we can expect.

I'll be blunt. If your goal is to learn whether the things the missionaries are sharing with you are true then you need to change how you are going about it. I'm sure the missionaries have already explained how we gain a testimony. The experiences of others, even if true, are not a suitable substitute for gaining a witness yourself through the Holy Ghost.

Well 2020 has been quite the year in the US with the pandemic, the Protests, and now the Fires.  There is smoke all the way across the nation now from the fires on the West Coast.  My wife warned me that there was going to be a smoky day out, but from a cloud of smoke that apparently is traveling eastwards.

The great thing about the book of mormon is that it documents the cycle of civilizations that have risen and fallen in the ancient Americas based on their righteousness/wickedness. Its actually really simple to predict the destructive outcomes from human behavior but because humans are so greedy/stubborn we become blinded and need prophets (and "scary dreams") to remind us.
Those NDE experiences you share are awesome but to be quite honest, nothing new or ground breaking. The more I learn about enlightened spiritual teachings from various sources, the more it sounds like its based on...Jesus's teachings.
Here is a quote from your NDE website....
"I was told that the world could be saved, not by its leaders, but by prayer groups throughout the world. I was told that the prayers of a group of twenty could save a nation from war. I was told that the fate of mankind rested on our ability, individually and collectively, to change the direction of mankind in accordance with God's plan ... Depending on mankind's response to God, these events may be altered, postponed, or cancelled." (Ned Dougherty)

The democrats are being myopic and hypocritical again.  When Trump was elected they claimed voter fraud by Russian interference.  They made an excellence case that we need to be sure our votes are really our votes.  And they got there investigation that found nothing.  Now Trump is warning and forewarning of potential voter fraud... And the Democratic hypocrisy in on full display.  Instead of remembering that we need to be sure that our votes are really our votes they are discounting it.
Such discounting is also very stupid.  If Trump is indeed playing games the best way to disarm him is to have an investigation.  Prove that Trump got nothing and that the vote is secure.  But if the democrats block such an investigation they play right into his hands.  If Trump loses he can make "I told you so argument"  and there will be plenty that believe that because the most logical reason for the democrats to block investigation is because they already know what will be found and they do not want it discovered.

"We believe that non-members can receive visions too, so, not to scare you but to be better prepared, we as members always knew this was coming but I just didnt know so soon!"

I prophesy in the name of the Lord God of Israel, unless the United States redress the wrongs committed upon the Saints in the state of Missouri and punish the crimes committed by her officers that in a few years the government will be utterly overthrown and wasted, and there will not be so much as a potsherd left, for their wickedness in permitting the murder of men, women and children, and the wholesale plunder and extermination of thousands of her citizens to go unpunished, thereby perpetrating a foul and corroding blot upon the fair fame of this great republic, the very thought of which would have caused the high-minded and patriotic framers of the Constitution of the United States to hide their faces with shame.

Ever since Kapernick knelt (and really, quite a bit before him) there has been a noticeable movement to end the playing of the Star Spangled Banner as our national anthem because there is one use of the word "slave" in one of the less sung verses.
Now, the first suggestion by Yahoo Music is to replace it with Imagine.
    https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/why-it-might-be-time-to-replace-the-star-spangled-banner-with-a-new-national-anthem-023741108.html
So, we replace a statement of courage under fire and triumph over impossible odds... with a statement of unity under atheism and communism and a complete lack of motivation to do anything useful.
I'll admit that the tune is beautiful in its simplicity and mesmerizing tones.  But the lyrics are absolutely against everything I hold dear.  God, Family, Country.
Evil wrapped up in a package of peace, unity, and love.  I wanna know why there aren't any rainbows, unicorns, and fluffy bunnies.  Oh, wait...

DennisTate reacted to Carborendum in Does Multiverse Theory fit with Ezekiel 37 and the White Throne Judgment?
I don't know about any such connection.  Maybe.
But what BA says is largely true.  The beginnings of the multi-universe theory was that there were too many "coincidences" (for lack of a better word) in this universe to be easily explained by randomness.  So, they deduced that there must be many universes where such coincidences were NOT found.
By multiplying by an additional infinity, they could easily explain all these "coincidences" without having to resort to intelligence as the cause.
It's just a "little" infinity.  Nothing to see here.

I believe this is what it will be like after the LORD comes again on this Earth during His millennium reign.  It's too bad I might not live to see it in this life.  This is likely what it was partially like during the 200 years after Christ's visit to the people in the Americas.  They implemented the teachings of the LORD, lifted each other up, built many great things, helped and loved one another.  It would have been amazing to live during those days in the past or with the people of Enoch.  The people of Melchizedek would have been a great people to dwell with as well.

I think there is much plausibility to the claims made in the Plandemic video. You have to do some due diligence to verify Judy Mikovits’ claims, but it is there. One has to wonder, why Would YouTube and Facebook go to such great lengths to have this video removed, unless there was some truth to it? There is plenty of garbage on YouTube and Facebook, but they consider this enough of a threat to have it removed? It doesn’t make sense.
However, whether or not you believe the claims made in the video, it doesn’t take a conspiracy theorist to realize that something doesn’t add up here. This whole COVID-19 ordeal, and the government’s reaction to it, has never made any sense. Since when do we quarantine healthy people? And since when do we shutdown the economy, especially for months at a time? It’s unprecedented, unconstitutional, un-American, and just plain idiotic.

No, this is just what some people are becoming.  Worldwide crises like these have an impact on people, some of them change.  Sometimes it's a change for the better, a saved marriage here, a loser becomes a motivated winner there.  Some people just get scared and end up believing whackadoodle nonsense because somehow it's the only thing that makes sense to them.
It's ok to think of these last folks charitably.  Some folks just don't have the ability to deal with 85,000 dead, are unable to grasp the context necessary to form rational opinions about reality.   I mean, most of 'em are just stubborn or afraid or willfully ignorant, but a few of them just lack the tools to be anything but wrong.

...what in the world is going on?! The license to go crazy has gone mainstream.
Seriously. One of my closest friends for the last 20 years sent me the Plandemic video and when I didn't buy off on its full legitimacy immediately he flipped out and cut off our relationship for good. Is this what we're becoming?
I'm only trying to exert the smallest amount of moderation in my views. (Surprise, surprise, I can be moderate in some things.) But apparently any sort of moderation and hoping/waiting for facts is unacceptable any longer.
The kind of things I'm seeing people post on social media and believing whole-hog without evidence is...well, it's truly shocking.
I know there's evil in the world. I know there's evil in government. I know there's evil in big pharm. I know there's evil in capitalism. I know there's evil in socialism. I know there's evil pretty much everywhere. Does that mean I have to buy off on any youtube video that supports someone's particular narrative or I'm the bad guy? Sure...I'm concerned by these evils. I'm much more concerned by the evil that seems to be stewing and brewing in my friends, neighbors, and family. The hatred and bitterness I'm seeing from them on Facebook and the like. We're supposed to be followers of Christ. And we're supposed to be one in Him. We're not supposed to hate each other for not buying off on all the minutia of our particular extreme brand of political think.
Anyhow, I'm not really joining again here, but I do read, and thought the discussion of some of these conspiracies and the like would be interesting. So go for it.
