I have gut feeling that the rank and file dems (Pelosi, Schumer, etc) already have a plan in place to position their own choice for President in an open convention.

They have no love for Kamala Harris and want to let her fail on her own in the public view while behind the scenes install their own puppet or favorite nepotism (Gavin Newsom) candidate.

It’s gonna be a wild ride.  Conclaves are fun to watch.

I totally agree with you. One of my closest friends is a hard left liberal. Known him for 25 years now. He can’t stand her because of her past a prosecutor and how she’d “lock up anyone for anything then demand criminal justice reform.” his words, not mine.

@Phoenix_person-your thoughts? Do you basically agree with my friend or do you see it differently?

Her past as a DA/prosecutor was a big sticking point for leftists in the 2020 primary, which is why most of us picked Sanders or Warren. Given the situation currently before us, I think most leftists would prefer Harris over Biden. By a lot. And at this point, even the shrinking crowd of Biden faithful would be wise to consider the real possibility that, even if he stays in the race and wins, we could still see Kamala in the Oval Office before 2028.

Current polling is leaning more and more towards favoring Biden dropping out. He said he'd do it if the polls indicated that he should. Now there's apparently focus groups indicating that a lot of swing voters would be more likely to make a selection at the top of the ticket if they had a younger candidate opposite Trump. And for reasons the far left should be studying, a lot of black voters still support Biden, but they also seem open to an alternative that isn't Trump.

All the democrats have to do is run someone who doesn’t view going out after 6PM as having a “late night” and they’ll almost certainly win. Moderates are basically begging them to do that.

Hardline Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee has passed away, which is going to be another issue the Democrats now have to deal with.

Not even endorsing Kamala Harris.  What a dog.

It's too soon for that. The DNC needs to announce the nomination process before endorsements can be made. I'm sure he'll endorse Harris before the convention starts.

I wonder if Trump will stop bad mouthing him.

Probably. He's about to have a more competitive opponent. Can't waste energy on lame ducks, though I'm sure he'll still make some jabs here and there.

A whole bunch of democrats are now coming out to endorse Kamala Harris.

Im watching the liberal news channels tell me how great a candidate that VP Harris is going to be.  How intelligent, well spoken and savy that she is, and how she will beat Trump.

It reminds me of how supportive that they were of Biden during the obvious past year of his cognitive decline.

I was able to appreciate Biden’s cognitive decline prior to the infamous presidential debate, but none of the liberal media or democrats could?

Are they doing the same thing with Kamala Harris?

I mean, if you told me that Trump was an honest humble man I wouldn’t believe ya…

Biden himself said that picking Kamala Harris as his vice president was the best decision he ever made. I'm tempted to take his word for it. That statement should be engraven on his headstone so that all future generations will know what kind of a president, and a man, Joe Biden was.

Wow, I was wrong.

It looks like the $$ and endorsements are coming in so fast that an open nomination process wont happen.

Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer have not endorsed Harris yet.  Pretty sure that they were the main people pushing Biden out.  Their options are dwindling by the minute.

Their endorsements mean precisely squat at this point. Their job was to get Biden out of the way. Mission accomplished. The rest is in the DNC's hands.
