Moreover, even IF statistically more women make it to the Celestial Kingdom than men (which, you know....considering plural marriage.... but I digress....), the assumption that therefore any given woman is more righteous than any given man is classic biased stereotyping.

I don't know anything about celestial demographics. If plural marriage is practiced in the eternities, it is because it is a true principle.

But my observation as a father, a husband, a brother, a son, an uncle, a nephew, and a friend is that I really don't think men are all that spectacularly worse than women. In fact, I'm not sure they're worse even as a group. I will be the first to proclaim that women are amazing. But honestly, so are men. When I think of the very best people I have ever known in my life, I think of at least as many men as women. I'm thinking that the male sex has gotten a bad rap, much worse than women, and probably not fully deserved.

Men are given the Priesthood. Some have characterized this as a crutch, something given men because they need an extra boost compared to naturally more righteous women. I think that's bogus. I believe that God allows men to hold His Priesthood because He has confidence in His sons and expects them to do a great work. I think this is a doctrine that we should teach our sons, and also our daughters.

There is one social phenomenon that speaks to the bolded portion above.  It is about the things that women "can't do".  In many instances, it is about what women are not "allowed to do".

For the most part, women have been both protected and limited in engagement in many aspects of society (feminists would cry "the Patriarchy").  As such, they have not had access to effect the world for evil like they do today.

My favorite quote from Drew Carey:

Quote

They say that if women ruled the world, we wouldn't have any wars.  I don't believe that for a second.  We'd still go to war.  We'd just go to war for different reasons:

America: Hello, England?  This is America.  Why are you attacking us?

Eng: Oh, I think you know why.

Am: No, actually.  Can you tell me so I can apologize?

Eng: If you don't know, I'm not going to tell you.

In today's world where women do have such access (to evils that were previously the domain of men) we see them doing things even worse evils than men have in the past.  The one place where women are trailing men in evils of society is homicides.  And most of that is due to physicality.  So, again, it is really because they "can't" do the evils that men do more often.

But where they "can" do the same evils, women are now doing them at a rate that is catching up to the men.   And in some areas, more so -- because they can do some things that men can't do or are not allowed to do.

I truly believe that if women had the physicality of men, they would be just as murderous and ruthless as men (on that end of the spectrum).

With the societal controls as they have been in the past, it skewed statistics to favoring women.  But as those boundaries are removed, women have now shown they can be just as evil or worse than men.

How about that?  You've fought so hard.  You've won.  You are no longer more virtuous than men.  And now, you perform various evils more than men.  You are now, no longer held in high regard.  You are no more or less valuable than men.  You gladly debauch yourselves at a worse rate than men, allowing 100 to 1000 men to *&^$ you in a single day.  Then you can kill any babies that may be the fruit of such acts.

Congratulations, you're free to set your own value so low that no one wants to be around you anymore (including yourself).

Thank you, feminism.

A significant component of what makes men men and women women comes from our physical makeup, a physical makeup that happens to be in a fallen state. It's hard to know how similar or dissimilar that makes us from how we are spiritually or how we'll be in the resurrection and what role that will play at judgement day.

It's true that women, in general, seem to come by certain divine qualities more naturally than men but is that because women are simply more spiritually advanced in those areas or because God made it so to make His plan work?

Sure. But if it's a true principle, and if anyone practices it in the eternities, then it means more exalted women than men.

Yeah... The question becomes "Why are there more exalted women then men?"

The Lord promises no blessing will be denied the faithful.  The idea that the number of exalted men and women exactly match seems a bit of a stretch. So it would seem that Plural Marriage is the answer to that with women having greater number in exaltation.

But if it is widespread then it more likely means that men are less likely to make it to exaltation.  Which is not something I accept.

That being said a small reasonably insignificant percentage difference (aka women having a so slight advantage) can add up over large numbers and I am ok with that

I have thought about this for a while.  I will not pretend to know or understand any more than anyone else, but plural marriage in the eternities may not be defined exactly as we may be defining or thinking.  There is a possibility that not all wives in a plural marriage are equal.  Both to each other as well as their husband.  Since we are speculating and do not know anything for sure, the parameters may not be defined in the manner we are thinking that we are applying them.

There is a category of Celestualized beings who are not exalted, with an absence of Celestial marriage being the distinguishing factor. I don't know how many will land there but men do seem to be more prone to desire not being married.
